As Harlow stepped out of the villa with Charlotte, a sleek black limousine was already waiting at the entrance. Its polished surface gleamed under the evening lights.

Alanis was already outside, standing tall beside the car, waiting for them. As soon as he saw them approaching, he stepped forward, his usual sharp gaze softening as he reached for his grandmother’s hand.

"Come, Grandma," he said gently, offering his arm to her.

Charlotte smiled warmly, placing her hand in his. "Such a gentleman," she mused as he helped her into the car.

Harlow followed closely, stepping into the limo with ease. The inside was just as elegant as expected, plush leather seats, dim golden lights, and a soft classical tune playing in the background.

Both women say together while Alanis sits on the opposite side.

The ride to the old mansion was smooth, the quiet hum of the engine filling the silent night. Harlow gazed out the tinted windows, watching the city lights blur past. This night truly was going to be an interesting night.

It will truly be unforgettable.

When they arrived, it was clear that the event was already in full swing. Cars were lined up everywhere, the glow of headlights illuminating the long driveway. Guests were still arriving, stepping out in glamorous gowns and tailored suits.

Alanis exited first, straightening his suit before turning to help Charlotte. Harlow followed suit, her heels clicking softly against the pavement as she stepped onto the cobblestone driveway.

The mansion stood before them, grand and imposing, yet familiar. It had been the Hamilton family’s old home for years before they moved, and now it was once again the center of attention.

Guards were stationed at the entrance, maintaining order as they guided guests inside. As Alanis and Harlow walked Charlotte toward the grand doors, the guards immediately stepped aside, recognizing them.

The grand double doors swung open, and the trio stepped inside. The moment they entered, "She is your daughter? Did you not give her any training at all?" A sharp voice rang out, laced with scorn. The woman glared at Elisa, who stood frozen, unsure how to respond.

Murmurs filled the hall. The guests were seething, furious that their time had been wasted. They weren’t just expecting an apology, they were demanding punishment for the person responsible.

Then, just as the whispers reached their peak, Claudia rushed toward Harlow with exaggerated urgency.

"Harlow, what did you do? This place is a mess!" Her voice was loud enough to turn every pair of eyes onto her step-sister. It was a calculated move, one meant to subtly inform the guests that she was the Harlow Blackwood they had all been cursing.

Harlow didn’t flinch. Instead, a slow, knowing smile crept onto her lips.

"Aren’t you the one who ripped it apart?" Her voice was calm, almost amused.

Claudia stiffened. She hadn’t expected Harlow to accuse her outright. Her eyes darted around, searching for support.

"W- What are you talking about? We arrived just like the other guests and found everything like this!" Claudia clutched Harlow’s hand as if pleading for understanding, but her grip was tight. Too tight. "You’ve insulted these guests, Harlow. I’m afraid Mother and Father won’t be able to save you this time."

"Mother gave you one simple job Harlow. If you couldn’t handle it, why accept it in the first place?"

Harlow turned to her, her gaze like a dagger. "And who permitted you to be here? I don’t recall your punishment being over yet."

Lia’s face paled. She had forgotten, she wasn’t supposed to be at any public event yet. Just one more day and she’d be free, but if anyone took note of this slip-up, it could ruin everything.

But before she could say anything, an older woman stepped forward, her tone dripping with disapproval.

"Young lady, haven’t your parents taught you anything about hosting an event?"

Another woman joined in. "Why waste our time if you can’t even organize a simple gathering? Charlotte, you should be careful about the people you accept as daughters-in-law."

Harlow opened her mouth to respond, but before she could, Claudia’s voice rang out again, sweet and pitiful.

"Please, forgive my sister, it’s my fault too. You see, our parents tried to teach her, but she refused to learn." She sighed, shaking her head as if disappointed. Then, just loud enough for everyone to hear, she murmured, "If only she weren’t so busy chasing after... Alanis."

Harlow clenched her jaw.

"Stop taking the blame for her, Claudia," Elisa chimed in. "Let her handle her own mess."

Madeline, the most outspoken guest, stepped forward with a sneer. "Every parent should take note of what’s happening here. Train your daughters properly, or they’ll end up like her."

More voices joined in, demanding compensation.

Garth, who had been watching silently, turned to Charlotte with a solemn expression. "Mother, Harlow has truly embarrassed us and ruined your party. What do we do?"

Charlotte frowned. Everyone knew how much she valued events like this. She had never let anyone else handle them because she couldn’t stand errors, especially not disasters like this.

Harlow might be her favorite daughter-in-law, but that didn’t mean she would be spared from consequences.

"Let Harlow fix what she has done," she finally said, turning her face away. "I have no say in this."

Lia smirked. "Look at you, Harlow. Even Grandma is mad at you."

Harlow tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable. "Like she said... let me fix it."

Madeline scoffed. "Fix it how?"

Another guest added, "What could possibly make up for this? Money? Do you think we’re broke? Do you think we don’t have enough of our own?"

The murmurs of agreement were instant.

Claudia crossed her arms, watching Harlow carefully. ’How will you get out of this one, dear sister?’, she thought.

Harlow took a deep breath. When she spoke again, her voice was calm, steady, and sweet.

"I apologize if I have offended you with my words," she said politely. "But that’s not what I meant."

The guests stared at her expectantly.

"I know you are all esteemed guests and should never be treated this way."

"Hah!" One woman scoffed. "Sorry won’t fix the time we wasted in this shithole."

"Of course, an apology alone won’t be enough," Harlow agreed smoothly. "That’s why I’m not apologizing for the mess you see before you."

Then, murmurs. Frowns deepened. Eyes narrowed followed after. Her words had only angered them more.

"What the hell does she mean?"

"She’s not even sorry?"

Harlow continued, unbothered. "I’m apologizing for wasting your time... at the wrong hall."
