As the lights dimmed a little, a beautiful figure walked into the hall. Harlow’s green eyes scanned the room, a knowing smirk tugging her lips as she watched everyone. The reaction on their faces lightened her mood, especially her family who had their mouth hanging open.
For weeks everyone has been guessing, wondering who the diamond queen was.
Of course they never expected the diamond queen to be her. The one that has stolen the heart of the people of Halkhalls with her unique diamond style.
Frank opened his mouth to speak but it was left hanging open. He couldn’t believe the daughter, the one he had mistreated and tossed aside was the actual diamond queen. Harlow was the superior diamond maker in all of Halkhalls even after stealing her designs countless times.
Elisa frowned as she glared at her step daughter. Though she was surprised, she still felt everything Harlow had right now should have been Claudia’s. Only her daughter deserves this kind of success. Not the useless Harlow.
They had all bragged before her that day without knowing she was the diamond queen herself. The success of their company really lied in Harlow’s hands tonight and lately they have all been unfair to her.
Elisa brushed off the thought as quickly as it came. Harlow will not dare ruin them, she can’t. She loves her father so much to hurt him that way. Elisa smiled, this means the win was theirs tonight.
It’s a good thing her puppet of a daughter was in charge, at least they know they have control over her.
Lia who stood behind Elisa could not believe the one person she had heard Claudia praising all week was Harlow. Claudia didn’t stop singing her praises all day and night.
She couldn’t believe the person she admired all this time was Harlow. The one person she ways abused and looked down on.
Harlow had been the one crafting all of the diamonds they wore.
With the sweetest smile hanging on her lips, Harlow started walking towards the stage set out for her. She could see all of the jewels sitting pretty in their glass container waiting to be judged by her.
Alanis had never been more proud of his woman in a while. Everything she does was impressive and beautiful. And Charlotte? Grandma Hamiltons smiled as she saw Harlow walk in. She had no idea she has been living with the diamond queen all this while. Right now, she felt bad for not believing in Harlow all this while.
Alanis knew Harlow was the diamond queen the day she asked for a favour, she had told him about everything and what he needed to help her do.
"Harlow?" Claudia couldn’t hide her disdain and shock. She refused to believe this good for nothing Harlow was the diamond queen. Their father had shamefully fired her and sent her away, when did she become the diamond queen?
"You cannot be the diamond queen. This must be a sick joke." Claudia said bitterly and murmurs began amongst the crowd as everyone wondered if Harlow was impersonating the real diamond queen.
After all, she’s the Blackwood’s bad egg, how can she acquire such in such a very short time?
Harlow only glanced at her sister and kept walking with Grace and elegance. She didn’t have the time to fight with Claudia tonight. Tonight is her big night and nothing is ruining it.
When she arrived at the podium, she sat gracefully in the big red chair placed for the diamond queen herself. A man hurried to her side immediately handing her a microphone decorated with pieces of diamonds.
Everything about Harlow glowed tonight. She looked so different, almost unrecognizable.
Harlow took the mic from the man with a smirk as she finally met the faces of the guest she had invited tonight. "I’m sorry for the little interruption." She started.
"I’m sure no one is bold enough to impersonate the diamond queen." She smiled. "Without further Ado, let the competition begin." She said.
The competitors started presenting their diamonds one after another. "This piece is called, ’Enternal Blossom’, It’s a symbol of nature." The first man said presenting his beautiful diamond collection which caught Harlow’s eyes. Not only was his collection beautiful, they were unique, accentuating nature yet in a bold elegant style.
The next presenter came and then the next and the next till it was down to the last.
The Blackwood’s diamond collection...
Claudia was the one to step forward. Never in her life did she think the fate of her future lies in the hands of Harlow.
If she had known Harlow was the diamond queen she would have tried to be nicer. But according to Elisa’s there’s no way Harlow will go against them and give this win to someone else’s so she didn’t care at all.
"This pieces are called Crown Jewels,’ They represent regal elegance and prestige. Specially handcrafted by me. You can tell how beautiful the diamond piece is with just looking at it." Claudia said with pride even if their designs were stolen and a replica of their old designs.
"Unlike the cheap pieces I’ve seen tonight, you can tell how exquisite our collection is just by looking at it." Claudia spoke with such certainty, so assured of her victory.
After all, Harlow was the Diamond Queen. That meant their family’s triumph was guaranteed. There was no need to put in effort when the outcome was already decided.
Harlow’s gaze remained unreadable as she addressed the room. "I’ve seen all of your work tonight, and I must say, each collection has been truly exceptional."
"My judgment is based on years of experience as a diamond maker," she continued, her voice calm and authoritative. "I know quality when I see it."
Claudia seized the opportunity to speak, her excitement barely contained. "That’s true," she interjected hastily. "My sister is an expert when it comes to diamonds. I urge everyone to trust her judgment." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
She was already imagining the crown being placed on her head. The Blackwood name had never lost a competition before, and tonight would be no exception.
Harlow let the moment hang in the air before finally delivering her verdict.
"The winner of tonight’s competition is... Eternal Blossom."
Silence.
Then gasps.
Shock rippled through the hall, eyes darting between Harlow and the Blackwoods.
Claudia’s expression twisted in horror. "What?"
Elisa’s smirk vanished.
Frank’s face drained of color.
Harlow... simply smiled.
