"If greediness was a person." Lia spat.
"Isn’t ironic Harlow, how you describe yourself in another person."
"Lia, that’s enough. It’s clear she’s hurting and cannot believe she has lost everything. It’s alright Harlow, they were never yours to begin with." Claudia said.
"I know you’re not my real sister Claudia. I’ve known for a while now." Harlow said calmly.
"I know you tried to kill Father because you both wanted his property," Harlow said shocking both women. But they didn’t care to deny all of her claims, after all, they had Frank’s property now. There’s no need hiding their true intentions anymore.
"So you’re finally catching up Harlow?" Elisa said with a smile. Maybe Harlow isn’t as dumb as she had thought. Maybe her daughter-in-law was smart, but there’s no way Harlow will be smarter than her. That’s why she had all of Frank’s property.
"Of course stepmother. When you live with witches, you need more than spells to survive." Harlow said.
"That is why I destroyed everything Father owned before you two had the chance to steal it. I destroyed the company, I caused it’s bankruptcy and bought it in the end and I also destroyed the diamond company." Harlow said proudly, but the woman seated across from her burst into laughter.
"Do you think we’re stupid Harlow?" Claudia asked. "You?"
"You of all people would destroy father’s company?" Claudia laughed. "I can take everything Harlow, but not that. You’re too dumb to do that please." Claudia laughed.
"Everything that happened to the company was just a coincidence and you just happened to be there to buy the company. But that doesn’t mean you’ve won Harlow." Claudia said.
"I’ll come back for the company, and I’ll take it away from you," Claudia said and Harlow nodded. Of course, they wouldn’t believe she had planned everything out, but at least she’s placed a seed of doubt in their hearts now.
This was her revenge for Elisa. It was Elisa’s time to pay for everything she’s done to her in this life and the past. She’s the mastermind behind everything that happened to her before. She was the one to turn the Hamiltons against her, she ruined her life before it even began.
With one loud bang, Harlow dropped a letter on the table.
"You have until tomorrow to leave my mansion. If you don’t, you will face the consequences." Harlow started walking away.
"What is she talking about?" George scoffed.
"Hey Harlow, what is the meaning of this?" Claudia called as she watched George retrieve the letter on the table.
"A written notice." He turned to look at Elisa. "Wow, she’s so bold to give us notice like she owns the place." Both George, his mother, and his sister laughed as they stared at the letter.
The boldness of Harlow to come in here and give them evacuation notice. What right does she have?
"It seems my stepdaughter didn’t hear correctly when I told her this mansion is now mine. I will be waiting for her." Elisa said.
As Harlow stepped inside the car, she was greeted by the face of the man waiting patiently for her. There was a worried look on his face.
"How did it go, is there anything you need?" Alanis asked.
"Hmm, I need them all arrested by tomorrow. But mother is going to stay longer for fraud and theft. She tried to force my father into giving everything he owns to her without an idea all of father’s properties are all in mother’s name." Harlow said.
"It’s done." Alanis pulled her close into a warm hug, and even if she tried to fight him off, he held her still.
"Drive." He said to the chauffeur and the man started driving out.
Claudia watched Harlow’s car drive out of the mansion in silence. She wasn’t at ease with Harlow’s visit. Even if they had all mocked and treated her like her words held no weight, she had felt fear when Harlow addressed them.
Harlow addressed them with confidence, her words made everything they had all acquired useless.
"Are you okay Claudia?" Elisa noticed her daughter’s mood and asked and Claudia nodded with a smile. Maybe she was overreacting, maybe she wasn’t thinking straight.
Harlow had no power to do anything. As usual, everything she did today was just another display of foolishness and emptiness. She just cannot accept the fact that her father’s property has been passed down to them.
"I’m perfectly fine mother," Claudia reassured her mother.
"What do we do Elisa? What if that bitch doesn’t come here with anyone."
"Then we will go to her for disturbing our peace. This time her precious husband will not be able to save her. I’ll lock her away for good and then Claudia can take over the company." Her plans were simple. Harlow has only dug her grave with her own hands.
They were all still talking when Claudia’s phone beeped. She checked the message from her manager and frowned.
Claudia immediately dialed his number, "How dare you relay information like that?" She barked.
"I’m sorry Miss Blackwood but the news I shared is all over the media. You can go check it out yourself and I must say, Miss Claudia, this is not a good look on you and the company." He said.
"You have u til a week to resolve this, otherwise, we will cut all ties with you. Our company cannot be associated with negative news. You know the rules " he hung up.
Claudia immediately checked the news and froze. It was true. What her manager said was true.
"What is it, Claudia." Lia voiced out staring at her sister-in-law.
"There is trending news from various publications about Father cutting all ties with us. It says Frank Blackwood is letting the public know that Elisa and Claudia Blackwood are no longer a part of his family due to his recent divorce from Elisa." Claudia said.
As if that was not enough, she had read in the article about her not being Frank’s biological daughter.
The entire people of Halkhalls slammed both Elisa and Claudia. Claudia’s social media accounts were buzzing with messages.
Elisa frowned at this. She knew the person behind all of this. Maybe, just maybe divorcing Frank was a bad idea. She should have just gone with her plan of killing him, rather than divorcing him.
