"Stop acting like a child for once in your life." She yelled. She couldn’t always be the adult in their relationship. Alanis is the man, yet he acts like the woman here.

"A child. But aren’t I your baby?" He raised his head, his lazy eyes on her and Harlow frowned.

"Stop dreaming Alanis. I don’t have time for this, it’s morning and I don’t want the first thing I do today to be fighting with you."

"Who says we’re fighting? You called me your baby last night don’t you remember?" Alanis asked but Harlow wondered what he was talking about. She couldn’t recall calling him baby, she would never do that.

"Tell me when." She said wanting to expose him for his lies.

"You said ’Baby more, give me more. Fuck me with your fingers baby." Alanis said dramatically flapping his hands to see her turn red.

"After everything I did for you, this is how you replace me. My hands are tired villain from all the work, the least you can do is let me rest on you."

She recalled everything that happened. This bastard took her to the cinema in disguise to fulfill her fantasy. He paid for them to play suck atrocious movie and had to do those wicked things to her.

"You made me say those words." She shot back.

"But you said them villain. You called me baby." Alanis rose from her body, a grin displaying on his lips as he watched her. He wanted to tease her more but the knock on the door suddenly distracted them again.

He frowned, wanting to kill anyone that has disturbed his quiet time this morning.

"Come. And it better be worth the disturbance Mrs Asha." He said and she stepped in. The woman bowed her head in greeting as she

"Master Alanis, you should come now. A woman is here and she said she wants to see you." The housekeeper said.

The woman downstairs was crazy, a total psycho and she had threatened to burn down the cabin and never leave if she didn’t see Alanis today.

"Alright, we’ll be there soon," Alanis said and the housekeeper stepped out.

"Who do you think it is?" Alanis asked the woman who had stepped out of bed with a blue rose in her hands. He was right, Blue roses are her new favorite. She had outgrown her obsession with black roses. He smiled.

"Maybe our neighbors. We should not keep them waiting Alanis." Harlow stepped inside the bathroom to change her clothes and freshen up.

When she stepped out again after a few minutes, she did not find Alanis in the room anymore. Maybe he has gone to meet the guest, Harlow thought. She walked into the closet to change her clothes as she was excited to entertain the guests too.

If she didn’t have a company to run, staying in this country would have been the best option for her. She loved everything here and was having a good time already.

When Alanis arrived in the lounge, he had not expected that his guest would be the very woman he had met at the cinema last night.

The one that tried to throw herself at him and couldn’t stop staring at him all night. Yes, Alanis had seen everything. He had seen how she ignored her husband, but he ignored her too. Women like her were repulsive and irritating to him.

It is because women like her had made him lose everything in his past life and he’s not about to make the same mistakes again in this life.

Brenda who had been sitting in the lounge all morning got up immediately as she saw the man from last night appear before her in nothing but his bare body and a black trouser hanging on his waist.

Her lips parted a little as she stared at him like a delicious meal. Never in her life has she wanted someone this bad before. She rose from where she sat.

"Good day dear neighbor. Isn’t it surprising how we met last night and now you’re my neighbor?" She smiled.

"I brought a basket of fruit." She stretched her hands as she presented her food.

After leaving last night, Brenda had arrived this morning with Brian and they had rented the next farm just beside Alanis’s farm. She was ready to do anything to be close to Alanis.

"Asha, take the gift from our guest," Alanis said to his housekeeper who took the basket of fruit from Brenda’s hands.

"I never knew you lived around here." He strikes the first conversation, his dark eyes on the woman before him and Brenda laughs.

"Surprising isn’t it?" Brenda said. "The other neighbors told me we had new neighbors and I decided to come say hi. I had no idea it was you. What a surprising encounter." Brenda smiled.

"Most people would call this fate." She added but the man before her said nothing else. It is because before Alanis had acquired this land, he had met the other people around and did not see anyone like this woman.

For all he knew, this crazy woman had tried to hit on him last night. He hoped she hadn’t rented the place just to see him.

"I think I didn’t get your name last night. I’ll introduce myself again.

"I’m Brenda." She gestured her hands for a handshake but Alanis didn’t take the hands.

"I don’t shake hands with other women." Harlow who was walking down the stairs almost choked on her saliva.

"Why not." Brenda’s innocent voice rang in the lounge.

"If I do, my wife would punish me for it." Harlow almost tripped at his words. Was he using her as an excuse not to be close to Brenda?

"Huh, what does that even mean?"

"It means I cannot touch another woman that’s not my wife. Else I’ll get punished. It’s just our marriage rules, it’s not something you should understand." He explained flatly. And Harlow finally stepped down.
