Chapter 30: A Mistake Made By My Men

"Dionis, you're such a killjoy," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness, before abruptly ending the call without a farewell.

I was confused for a second but fell back asleep right away. When I woke up later that day, it was already getting dark outside. I didn't want to go out with Eva, but I needed to keep my word as a man.

"Yo, let's go out now before it gets too dark," I told Eva over the phone.

"Boy, I didn't think you would call me," she responded, her voice brimming with delight.

"A true man always keeps his word. It's a matter of principle,"

"Hmm, I like that," she murmured playfully. "But sorry, I'm already out with my friends. You were a little late. Maybe next time, don't sleep on me."

I wasn't about to let Eva have her way. "No, there won't be a next time. Where are you all? Let me join you."

"Hahaha alright, fine," she conceded with a chuckle. "We're at my friend's place, but it might be awkward for you to hang out with a bunch of girls, haha."

"There is no way I'll come to your friend's house," I said. "so you're gonna grab your jacket and come to the karaoke with your friends, alright?"

Eva let out a sigh. "Sounds fun I guess. We're heading to the karaoke bar right now. Don't keep us waiting for too long."

"Alright then goodbye." I said before hanging up with a sense of satisfaction.

After hanging up, I got dressed wearing a black tight polo shirt making my muscles show and black slim trousers. admiring myself in the mirror I grabbed my fragrance and sprayed it. Leaving the bathroom I started getting my shoes on, but my mom saw me and asked where I was going. For the first time in a while i didn't have to lie to my mother.

"I'm going out with Eva"

Leaving the house, I strolled leisurely towards the vibrant karaoke bar. Nearing the bar I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone. With a few taps on the screen, I dialed Eman's number and held the phone to my ear.

"Have you collected the money from your boys, Eman?" I asked, while walking.

"Yea,"

"Good job. Come to the karaoke bar right now and hand over the money,"

"Can't it wait? I need to study," Eman pleaded.

"Hahaha who are you fooling bro, you never grabbed a book in your life." I chuckled. "Bring me my money right now, alright?" I said firmly.

"Fine," He let out a sigh. "What are you going to do with the money, by the way?"

"I'll supply ecstasy for the Krasniqi family until I make enough money to do something you don't need to know right now," I explained, keeping my voice low so that no one would overhear our conversation.

"Hmm makes sense. alright then bro see ya at the karaoke bar." he said before hanging up.

After a brisk ten-minute walk, I arrived at the bar. Approaching the entrance, I noticed a group of three ladies standing there, and among them was Eva.

"Yo, did I make you wait for a while, ladies?" I greeted them with a raised hand and a charming smile.

"Not at all. We just got here a few minutes ago," Eva responded, her voice filled with a hint of relief.

"You're hot, but..." one of her friends interjected, turning to Eva. "Why are you dating such a younger guy? I thought you liked older men."

"We ain't dating," I quickly replied before Eva could respond.

An uncomfortable silence fell upon us, and Eva's head drooped slightly. Realizing that I had unintentionally created tension, I hurriedly opened the door and gestured for them to follow me.

"What are you waiting for? Come in, ladies," I invited them warmly, attempting to restore the pleasant atmosphere.

We entered, and immediately the atmosphere got better, the three of them talked behind me while I approached the receptionist.

"Welcome to the Karaoke bar of Trbovlje. What can I get you?" the receptionist greeted me with a friendly smile.

"I'd like to book a karaoke room, please," I requested politely.

"Of course sir, here's your key," he handed me the key and I paid for the room.

Leading the ladies towards our selected room, we swung open the door to reveal two small couches, one on each side, with a table placed in the middle. I comfortably settled onto one of the couches while Eva and her friend squeezed onto the other.

"The fuck? Why are y'all so cramped?" I exclaimed in surprise.

Before any of them could respond a waiter opened the door and approached us to take our orders.

"Hello, do you wish to order a drink or maybe a snack?"

"Yes, please bring us five Corona beers," I said.

""I'll need to see some ID, sir."

My annoyance was palpable as I realized I didn't have my ID on hand. It seemed that the waiter wouldn't serve the beer unless I could provide identification. Just as I was about to concede defeat, Eva interjected and handed her ID to the waiter. I glanced at Eva, with an expression saying 'what the fuck are you doing?'.

To my astonishment, the waiter returned the ID to Eva and left the room, assuring us that the five Corona beers were on their way. Eva looked at me with a sense of pride evident in her eyes.

"Huh, didn't you say you were 17 a few weeks ago?" I asked confused.

"I just turned 18 a couple of day ago"

"Oh, happy late birthday then!" I shouted excited.

As Eva and her friends showered me with compliments about my fashion sense and smell, we found ourselves at a loss for conversation. The silence hung awkwardly in the air, and we silently hoped for the waiter to intervene and break the tension by bringing us the beers.

However, to our disappointment, the waiter remained nowhere to be seen. Just as the silence became unbearable, Eva's friend named Mia came to the rescue. She seized a microphone, beginning an impulsive moment by starting to sing a random song on the screen.

"By the way, Dionis, why did you order five beers?!" Eva asked, leaning toward me and raising her voice over the music.

"One of my friends is coming too!" I yelled back.

"Ah, I see. You know, I wanted to spend some time alone with you, but you fell asleep," Eva told me.

"I'm sorry about that. We can hang out some other time. For now, let's just enjoy our time with your friends," I replied with a smile.

Eva smiled back at me, and we continued to listen to Mia's singing. Finally, our beers arrived, and Mia stopped singing to come drink with us. The three of them started talking, leaving me alone.

After a while, I got bored of listening to their conversation and wondered where Eman was. Just as I was thinking about him, I received a text from him.

"What number is your room Dionis?" the text read.

"509. Come fast," I replied.

Eman arrived and was taken aback by the presence of three girls, but there was a pressing issue — one of his men, Marko, had accompanied him.

"What's going on?" I questioned, scanning Eman's face for answers.

Before Eman could respond, Marko dropped to his knees, desperately begging for forgiveness.

"Please forgive me Boss I'm really sorry I'll fix the problem just give me a little more time!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" I screamed standing up and clenching my fists.

The girls looked at me with a different expression, sensing that something was wrong. they all stayed quiet, but I knew my identity was in a risk of exposure. Eman noticed it as well so he immediately made a joke trying to save me.

"Hahaha, Dionis, were you surprised when Marko referred to you as boss? Did you feel like some sort of mafia kingpin? I know you have a fascination with that kind of stuff, hahaha," he teased, desperately trying to divert attention.

Forced into a fake laugh, I plastered a false smile across my face. "Hahaha, yeah, it caught me off guard," I sat back down trying to maintain my composure.

Marko joined in nervously, "Ha-haha-ha-hahaha."

"Ugh, my stomach hurts. I need to go to the bathroom. Ladies, enjoy your time with Eman and Marko for a while." I excused myself holding my stomach acting like I need to shit.

As I ran out of the room, I quickly texted Eman, ordering him to inform Marko to meet me in the bathroom under the pretense of a phone call.

"Okay, he'll be there in a minute," his reply came instantly.

Entering the bathroom, my anger consumed me, and I charged towards a stall, forcefully kicking the door open. I stood there, staring blankly at the wall, desperately trying to contain my rage. After what felt like an eternity, Marko finally arrived, only to be met with the terrifying sight of my furious expression. Overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment, he began to scream in sheer terror.
