Chapter 677: When the uncle you pick somewhere has an insane hidden lore

Excuse me, but what?!

I couldn’t curse in front of my children, so I clasped my mouth tightly before I did it in reflex. My eyes widened as I looked at my son, before shifting my unblinking gaze to my husband.

But even Natha was petrified. We exchanged glances in shock until my son smacked my chin.

"Waa!" Shwa tugged on my hair as if questioning why I was just standing silently instead of smothering him as usual.

And then, Neel asked curiously. "What was that? Did he say ’creator’?"

The question snapped me back to reality, reminding me that other people didn’t know about Shwa. Certainly, we couldn’t ask Stan about his statement here, so I turned around and dispersed everyone.

"Neel, thank you for the good work. I’ll send you the compensation later. Jade, take care of Shiny here."

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Chii?

They looked at me in confusion, but I had no leeway to thread this lightly. "Nat, the shed."

"Alright."

As Natha held my waist, I grabbed the golem’s heavy arm. "Stan, come with us."

Teleporting four times in twenty-four hours was not good for people who didn’t have teleportation ability, but fortunately for me, Natha’s teleportation was very comfortable. I mean, I didn’t want to get nauseous and throw up before starting a very important inquiry.

We arrived in front of the shed, and I told Stan to enter the building, where the fairies were welcoming Shwa excitedly. Only then did I let out a relieved breath.

"Phew..."

As Shwa reached out and played with the fairies, Stan looked around the shed with flickering crystal eyes. "This place?"

"It was where my son was born," I told him.

Stan turned his head to look at Shwa and gave a delayed response. "...oh."

"So why did you call him your...creator?"

It was surprising enough that Stan called Shwa ’The One’, which I presumed referred to the Primordial One. But then, he also alluded that the Primordial One was the one who created him? I had thought it was someone or a group of devotees for the Goddess!

"The mana used to create my base rune code," Stan touched the center of his chest, where one of his cores was located. "It was identical to the mana your son has."

What the hell?! My eyes widened and my arms tightened around my son reflexively.

Stan continued. "The only name registered in the first layer of my rune code is ’The One’."

"Ah..."

Rune code was a bunch of complex formations piled on top of each other. You know...like a stack of pancakes? I knew it was a bad analogy, but I wasn’t a connoisseur so just get the gist of it, okay? Just think that each complex formation chain was a pancake, and each pancake had its own role.

The one Neel modified was the pancake governing the golem’s duty, while the first layer of the pancake should be the one governing the golem’s ’organs,’ so to speak. How a golem move, how a golem speak, how a golem learn...the fundamental stuff that made a golem functional. Like a real stack of pancakes, the base pancake should be firm enough to hold the rest of the pancake, or the tower would topple down.

Now--did Stan just tell me that the one who cooked the first pancake was my son’s previous life?

Nervously, I asked the golem. "Do you know the real identity of...The One?"

"No."

"I see..."

I exhaled slowly in relief. It seemed like the Primordial One did not leave enough manaprint to be identified. But there was still a signature inside any mana trace, and the signature was read as ’The One’.

"But I don’t understand," Stan moved his head, almost looking like someone tilting their head. "How do my creator and your son have the same mana?"

"Uhh..." I glanced at Natha, wondering what to do.

After stroking his chin for a few seconds, Natha ended up shrugging. "Isn’t it fine?"

"I guess?" at this point, Stan was a neutral party, and I did want him to help Shwa somehow in the future. So I lowered my voice and spoke in a warning tone. "Stan, this is a secret, okay?"

Stan nodded. "Understood."

I took a deep breath and looked at my blinking son before answering. "How do I say this? I think ’The One’ reborn as my son."

"Reborn," Stan paused for a few seconds as always to digest the information. "Is it reincarnation?"

"You could say that."

"I see. Does that mean my creator had died once?"

Hmm...what was the exact term for a God to go ’poof’? I swayed my head in confusion and, in the end, replied dodgily. "More like...disappeared."

"Yes, that is a plausible explanation."

My brow arched. "It is? Okay..."

So reincarnation was deemed as a possible occurrence in Stan’s basic comprehension. Was it planted by the Primordial One as a self-fulfilling prophecy? Who knows.

"But I’m curious now," Natha muttered while frowning deeply. "Why are you being tasked to guard the Goddess’s Tears?"

Oh, right. Stan had no idea how long he had been standing guard since the passage of time could not be comprehended inside that chamber. But there was no way he had been standing guard since the age of the Primordial One, right? I mean...the realms were yet to be separated, and the Goddess was still one of the Primordial One’s children at that time.

"Do you know anything about that?" I asked Stan.

"The Goddess made the guarding commandment, but I have no knowledge of what transpired in between," Stan replied.

Ah, so the one who put the runcode that Neel modify. Would the Goddess get mad at me for modifying it? Eh, who cares? Stan was no longer her property once the medallion fell into my hand.

That was...if Stan was her property in the first place.

"After checking, there is a trace of memory tampering," Stan added a shocking fact.

"Ah..."

Natha hummed. "The possible explanation is that the Goddess took him after the Primordial One disappeared."

"I see..."

Stan also nodded. "Yes, that is also plausible."

Hmm...was this like the case of one’s parent dying suddenly without a clear will, and the inheritance became up to grabs? For all I knew, the ’will’ was only for the three oldest children to take care of the mortals.

"Ugh...this is unexpected," I crouched between the blooming flowers and sighed.

"Waa! Uaa?"

Shwa patted my face and the fairies buzzing around me, asking me if I was in trouble--asking me if I was out of candy, to be exact, which made me laugh out loud.

"Hmm? It’s fine, Shwa," I chuckled and kissed my son’s plump cheeks. I stared at his clear eyes and the absence of any frown. "Have you stopped sulking now?"

"Uaaa! Ah! Aaah!"

I hadn’t slept for the past twenty-four hours, but oh...looking at that bright smiling face melted all of my mental exhaustion. Sleep? Who needed sleep if I could play with my son all the time?

"Good boy," I nuzzled mini-Natha’s face until he was giggling in response. "What a nice boy you are!"

"He wasn’t very nice last night..." Natha muttered tiredly.

I giggled at the thought of Shwa pulling Natha’s hair while crying and screaming for me. My immaculate husband, in fact, looked rather disheveled this morning. "Oh, Stan--this is my husband, Matsa Ra Natha."

"Matsa..." the crystal eyes flickered to process the language. "The Greed."

"Yes, I am the Lord of Greed," Natha nodded and placed his hand over his chest.

"I see," Stan also placed his hand over his chest, returning the greeting. "The Chosen One had named me Stan."

"I heard," Natha smiled and bowed his head slightly. "Nice to meet you, Stan."

"Likewise."

Ugh--this felt very formal, and now that I found out the Primordial One made him--and probably as ancient as D’Ara--I felt so stupid for calling him...Stan.

Damn it.

"As you said, sweetheart, he is very advanced," Natha commented. "I dare say he is superior to the golems made by my teacher."

My brow arched in intrigue. Oh, so the golems were made by D’Ara.

"Now that I know the Primordial One made him, isn’t that to be expected?" I shrugged.

Again, I wanted to turn back time and name him something grander than...Stan.

"True," Natha agreed, before tilting his head and smirking. "Should we call Teacher here? She might be able to find something about that erased memory."

"Oh, that would be nice!" I nodded eagerly.

I was also curious about how Stan ended up ’working’ for the Goddess. Like...since when? Did it happen when she realized the humans became worse, or did she see some visions for herself?

At any rate, my other child also wanted to see D’Ara. "Jade wanted to request a child golem," I told Natha.

My husband raised his brow and curled his lips. "Does he want another sibling already?"

I told the fairies to cover my son’s vision and smacked this naughty husband of mine who apparently forgot about how terrified he was when we had Shwa.
