Chapter 1164: Chapter 267: Dust Settles

The men who pursued Xiao Guangzhao returned and reported that they failed to find him, enabling his escape, while Mo Heng had already thrown in the towel and returned home, leaving Xiao Guangjing seething with silent rage. Pei Qin did not bring disaster upon the nation, yet she still instigated calamity with her beauty! Because of her, Mo Heng almost betrayed him, letting Xiao Guangzhao sit on the throne for half a year. The history books would also note this, a throne succeeded from a brother, obtained by dubious means.

Pei Qin, too, thought of Xiao Guangjing as she heard from Mo Heng that Xiao Guangzhao had fled. She knew that this newly enthroned emperor must be feeling as restless as if a cat were scratching at his heart. If he assigned this task to Mo Heng again, this fellow would end up confronting Xiao Guangzhao’s remaining forces.

When Mo Heng spoke of Xiao Guangzhao, his expression was calm and waveless, ladling soup and watching her eat.

"I’m stuffed..." This guy had hugged her tightly upon returning home, relentlessly feeding her as if seizing the throne was no more than clocking in for work. Changing emperors didn’t bother him at all; he just kept feeding her. She hadn’t eaten lunch and had just been forced by Pei Qian and the others to consume a large bowl of meat soup upon her return, and now he was feeding her again. She was overfed!

Yet, Mo Heng thought she was eating too little and wanted her to eat more, as if eating more would enable her to live longer.

Pei Qin thought of going for a walk, having eaten too much.

Mo Heng took his large cloak and wrapped her in it, leading her outside.

In the bitterly cold winter nights, especially piercing.

Pei Qin sneezed, "It’s a bit chilly." She wanted to visit Pei Qian and Pei Yuan, leading him on a stroll through the garden.

"Let’s go back, wash up, and go to bed then," Mo Heng said, wrapping his arm around her and heading straight back to the house.

Pei Qin was speechless for a long while. Could he still be hormone-driven today?

Mo Heng was not driven by hormones. Upon returning to the house, he helped her off with the cloak and pulled her to wash up.

"Well then.. I’ll teach you how to ballroom dance!" Pei Qin, realizing her clothes were nearly stripped off by him, grabbed his hand.

"It’s not cold?" Her hands were still icy.

Pei Qin instantly perked up, "Not cold! I’m still full from eating, so since we’re not going out, let me teach you ballroom dancing!" she said, pulling him to step along.

Mo Heng watched her intently, silently accompanying her to learn.

The steps of men were what Pei Qin knew best as, oftentimes, she was the male partner to her lady friends in dance.

Hearing that it was a dance where men and women embraced, Mo Heng asked quietly, "Have you ever danced with Shen Songming?"

"No! I didn’t even know him before!" Pei Qin answered honestly.

"Who were the men you danced with then?" Mo Heng’s handsome face darkened with a hint of jealousy, were there men he didn’t know?

Pei Qin blinked, "Not men, but I have danced with my lady friends!"

"Never dance with anyone else again! Except me," Mo Heng stated firmly, his face serious.

Pei Qin felt that he was acting a bit unusual tonight, perhaps he was upset? Remembering her own soul being evoked and seeing his profoundly deep eyes, she sighed, pulled down his head, and kissed him actively.

Mo Heng immediately tightened his embrace, entwining deeply in the kiss.

Pei Qin pulled him to the bed.

Mo Heng stripped off her clothes one by one, their kisses intensely passionate.

After kissing for a long time, Pei Qin, noticing he made no further move, opened her eyes to look at him; damn, he was immersed with his eyes closed. She reached out to seduce him further.

Mo Heng caught her hand, letting her go, then pressed her face back into his chest.

Damn it! She thought, hugging her tightly for so long, and now he was sleep? Pei Qin again reached out to seduce him.

Mo Heng wrapped her hands around his waist, massaging her head, and whispered, "Sleep."

Pei Qin, feeling fired up, rolled over and pinned him down, "You may not want it, but I do!"

Mo Heng’s eyes suddenly darkened, "Come!"

Her face flushing, she saw him allowing her to take and ask as she pleased, Pei Qin pulled up the quilt over them.

In the middle of the night, the main house needed water.

Pei Qian, who had been on edge all day, hadn’t yet fallen asleep. Hearing some noise in the main courtyard, bird-like, she insisted on checking it out.

Fang Liuming stopped her, "It must be your eldest sister and her husband getting up in the night. What are you doing going there? In the middle of the night!"

"Prince Yong’an has only occupied the Palace, he isn’t enthroned yet, I worry something might happen!" Pei Qian was hoping Xiao Yong would become Crown Prince. Xiao Yong had grown up alongside her elder sister at their home, and definitely would be kinder to their family than any other emperor could be! At the very least, he wouldn’t think of harming her elder sister!

Fang Liuming listened for a moment, "If there was a problem, your brother-in-law wouldn’t have come home, he would have stayed in the Palace to handle it. Your sister is probably sleeping soundly, so whatever it is, ask tomorrow."

Still uneasy, Pei Qian sent the night maid to check.

Learning that the main courtyard required water, Pei Qian was furious, "Is my elder sister made of iron? Today her soul was driven out, she was out in the snowy cold for so long, nearly losing her life! They have no regard for my sister’s health at all, are they trying to empty her out!?"
