Chapter 120: 119. Four Dark Horses (4)

"How do you do, Douglas Clark?" I asked feeling the air around me starting to whip around.

My Dragon’s Presence was upgrading because of my anger and surged up emotions.

I walked ahead towards him feeling the ground tremoring with every step and Douglas’s eyes widened.

"Wh-Who are you? What do you want?!" He wheezed.

"As of now, I’m so enraged that I want to rip you apart with my own hands." I said as I walked towards him and he looked at me with his face turned ashy.

"W-Wait, sp-spare me! W-Why don’t we make a deal?!"

"A deal?"

"Ye-Yes... A deal! Le-Let me go! I-I’ll pay you... I-I’ll give you any... amount of money... you ask of."

I walked over and crouched down in front of him as he was practically lying on the ground because of his injury and my Dragon’s Presence.

"I don’t want money." I said and he coughed out blood before he asked.

"Wha-What do you want then?" He asked.

I reached out and grabbed the roll of papers that he was cradling against his chest.

"Wait!"

I yanked it off his hands and saw his blood dripping from the edge of those papers.

"Wait, not that! Y-You can’t have that!"

"Douglas." I spoke up in a warning tone making him grit his teeth and glare at me.

"D-Do you even know what those are? Who sent you?! You won’t get away with this!"

I increased the pressure of my Dragon’s Presence on him.

"You... are in no place to raise your voice at me, Douglas Clark." I spoke looking down at him with a sharp glare and he gritted his teeth as his body trembled and he groaned with pain.

"Wha-Wha... What is this power?"

"Also, doesn’t this scene feel familiar to you?" I asked and his quivering pupils turned to me.

"Wha... What do you mean?" He rasped.

"It seems like your memory is having some problems at remembering. Let me help you." I said as I placed the papers into my vest.

"Didn’t you arrange for Prince Soros and his wife to die like this?" I asked and his eyes went wide.

"Y-You..."

"Do you think I asked my people to come retrieve these documents without knowing what it is?" I asked.

"Yo-You sent them!"

"It’s your misfortune, you know? I wasn’t going to come on the scene but you decided to get involved so, I had no choice but to come here myself."

His breaths turned ragged and his bleeding was starting to turn serious.

I could hear the sounds of a lot of people approaching us from quite a distance and I sighed.

"Don’t worry, Douglas. I will hold onto these and make sure your cousin stays in line." I smirked making him look at me with terror-filled eyes.

"Sadly, you won’t last for a long time to see me do that."

"Wha..."

"The kids whose futures you thought you could play with freely became the reason for your state to become like this."

He seemed shocked as I stood back up lifting the Dragon’s Presence from him.

"Wh-Who are you?! Why... Why are you doing this?"

"You’ll die without knowing." I looked down at him and flapped my wings before I flew high up in the air.

The reinforcements that came from the other side found Douglas lying unconscious in his own pool of blood. I flew away without them even noticing my presence and went straight to the forest where I had told the assassin to wait with Rune.

I flew over and noticed that they had moved, I saw the the group of assassins that were carrying the injured and unconscious members rushing away.

The horses were arranged for them at a distance to hide the tracks and they quickly got on the horses and started hurrying away.

I flew over them looking at Rune who was being carried carefully by an assassin, I swooped down and flew beside that assassin nearly making him fall off at first.

"Ma-Master!" He gasped.

"Give me that kid." I said reaching out to him and he carefully handed Rune’s unconscious form to me.

I held Rune against my chest tightly and looked at the assassin.

"Get everyone treated at Oasis." I ordered.

"Yes, Master."

I shot up in the air and flew right over to my mansion I saw the people there waiting for me perking up as soon as they saw me and I flapped my wings as I landed on the balcony of my room.

I opened the large windows and walked inside before I gently placed Rune on the bed before removing my face mask as I studied his wounds.

There was a lot of dried blood caked at the side of his head and face and I could see the large gash. His injury was deep but the blood loss was cut off by bandaging that’s why it wasn’t life-threatening.

I placed my hand over his head and activated Supreme Healing.

The gash on his head healed up in no time and I sighed as a low groan left his lips.

"Brother? Brother?" I called and he hummed.

"Re-Reina..." He mumbled.

I sighed with relief dropping my head at his side as I felt the adrenaline and the iciness retreating from my blood leaving behind the sense of exhaustion.

I fell on my knees crossing my arms and burying my face into the sheets as I felt the overwhelming emotions hitting me tenfold.

I had endangered his life. Even though I had promised that I wouldn’t let them be hurt, I let my own brother get hurt so much.

Rune came to his senses and quickly sat up looking around.

"Reina... Ugh... Where am I?" I heard Rune ask and I looked at him.

"You’re safe now."

"He-He took the remaining documents, Reina. We need to-"

"I’ve got them." I told him and he sighed with his body visibly relaxing.

"Wait... Why are you like this, Reina? Are you hurt anywhere?" He asked turning to me.

"Why don’t you have a look at yourself?" I asked.

"Didn’t I tell you to retreat as soon as there was any danger?"

He averted his eyes and twiddled his thumbs.

"We... didn’t realise when we were surrounded... but I fought and almost escaped with all the documents-"

"That’s not the point here!" I shouted making him clamp his mouth shut.

"I told you to not get hurt, I told you to come back safely."

He pursed his lips before he placed his hand over mine.

"I... I was fine, Reina... I didn’t get hurt even when Douglas attacked me, y-your necklace protected me. It blocked the attack from Douglas’s magic."

I looked at him with a sour expression and he stopped talking and hung his head.

"I’m sorry..."

"I’m... sorry, brother. I should have... gone along. I don’t know why I sent you there alone..."

"What? Wait, Reina. I told you I will do this on my own!"

"But you got hurt!"

"And I’m still fine, aren’t I?"

We stared at each other and I sighed gripping the sheets into my fists.

"Well... now you know how I and Father feel when you go off doing dangerous things." He spoke up and I closed my eyes burying my face in my folded arms.

I felt as if I would cry when I felt his hand gently patting my head.

"I... was going to kill Douglas... when I saw him." I admitted.

"But you didn’t... right?" I shook my head.

"Good girl."

I almost chuckled as he patted my head and I almost felt a few tears slipping.

Just then the banging on the door started.

"Rune!"

"Rune! Master Ocean?!"

"You’re in there, right Rune?!"

"Rune, answer us!"

"Master Ocean!"

"Please stop slamming the door like that, Young Masters!"

"Rune?!"

"Rune!"

"Your friends will break the door of my room down." I mumbled and Rune chuckled.

"I’ll go and see them." He said and I felt his weight shift over the mattress and I grabbed his wrist.

"What is it?" He asked and I looked at him.

"I’m sorry for worrying you, big brother." I said and felt his hand brushing over my head.

"It’s fine, little sister."

His smile dazzled me despite half his face being stained with dried blood.

I let go of his hand and he got down from the bed and opened the doors making his three friends almost tumble in.

They started fretting over Rune while I stood up and walked out of the room. The first phase of my plan was finished now it was time to bring Douglas down in the eyes of the kingdom.

"Lyall, start the second phase of the plan." I said and he bowed.

"Yes, Master."

Lyall left in a hurry and I ran my hand over my face.

"Master Ocean?" I turned and looked down at Luke who stood behind me.

"Yes?"

"Thank-"

"Not yet, only first phase of the plan is done. Thank me when you see Douglas go through the same suffering that you went through." I cut him off before he could thank me.

He shook his head with a smile that made his eyes glisten as he said, "It’s not for that, Master Ocean."

I tilted my head slightly and he said, "It’s for reaching out to me when I had lost all hope. Thank you, for reaching out to me when I had given up, Master Ocean."

"Your friends hold some credit too,"

"But this much wouldn’t have happened without you." He said with a grin.

"So, please excuse my rudeness," he said and I raised my eyebrows before I saw him step ahead and wrap his arms around my waist.

He was around a foot shorter than me so, I could see the top of his head, I chuckled as I patted his head.

"Wha-What’s happening here?!" Rune shouted as he looked at me and Luke.

"Whoa! No fair, why can only Luke hug Master Ocean?!" I heard Ralph shout.

And before I knew it even Ralph threw his arms around me making Rune’s face turn red with anger.

"St-Stop hugging, my si-best friend!" Rune shouted before he stomped over to me.

"Let go! Let go of he-him!" Rune started trying to pull them off.

"Oh, stop being a stick in the mud and come here!" Ralph said before he grabbed Rune’s hand and pulled him into the group hug.

I almost laughed as Rune was panicking watching his younger sister in disguise being hugged by his friends.

"Where’s Derrick?!" Ralph asked as he looked back to see Derrick standing at the doorway of the room looking hesitant.

"Why are you standing there, Derrick? Come here!"

"Yes, Derrick, come!" Luke called as well.

Derrick hesitantly took a step ahead before he walked up and threw his arms around us.

It wasn’t quite normal for me to be smothered by so much affection but in this life it seemed as if there were people who truly cherished me.
