Chapter 69 -68 New Year’s Message (With Activities)

“Masters are indeed masters,” Jiang Zhou nodded, though he didn’t seem to really understand.

After all, Purification Liquid was something from the cultivation category, and the Pharmaceutical Department was a different field from the cultivation field. But, in the hands of the master, there might be some common ground.

Qu Tong dug very deep and extracted the whole plant along with its seed ball intact.

She looked around and sure enough, she found three seedlings. Qu Tong took two of them, leaving one to grow on its own.

Jiang Zhou watched Qu Tong’s actions and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

After the job was done, the way back was smooth. The middle and low-level species all kept their distance.

Because Xiong Lie didn’t kill those two insects, he captured two live high-grade members of the Insect Clan, planning to send them to the military research institute for study.

Once on the spaceship, Si Yuting entered a small room and locked the door.

When he came out again, he had changed into a fresh military uniform.

Qu Tong looked at her clothes smeared with grass sap and blood, even with some burnt areas, and pursed her lips.

The vessel quickly left Insect Star.

In a place unseen by humans, many middle and low-level members of the Insect Clan scrambled up a fir tree, voraciously consuming its leaves and branches.

They even engaged in fierce battles over it, resulting in many injuries and deaths.

On the way back, Qu Tong didn’t sleep.

But because of the earlier unpleasantness, the atmosphere in the vessel was exceptionally strange, and no one spoke.

So Qu Tong was silently transported all the way back to Y58 Star.

Qu Tong nearly stomped her foot in frustration.

What’s wrong with them?! Despite having taken advantage of someone’s vulnerability, it was him who tested her first, right?

She was still angry.

Pfft!

Qu Tong used the star network to hire a vessel and waited a full hour…

Don’t get mad, she told herself. She was gentle and kind, lively and cute, confident and strong, rich and attractive. It would be a loss to die of anger.

*

It took another night, and Qu Tong didn’t get back to Yuelan Bay until around noon.

She greeted the butler, drank a bottle of Nutrient Solution he had prepared especially for her, then went back to her room to bathe and sleep.

Qu Tong slept deeply, not waking until the next afternoon.

After cooking and eating a normal meal, she finally felt rejuvenated.

Sitting in the garden, she became lost in thought until she unintentionally noticed the gauze on her hand.

Upon unwrapping and examining it, she saw the wound had scabbed over and the scab had fallen off. In a day or two, it would be completely healed, without leaving a trace.

Could this medicine, which worked so well for her, be considered an unexpected gain?

Doctor Zhou seemed to say this medicine was for sale at the military hospital.

Qu Tong took out her brainlight to search the map, finding that the closest one was near the First Military Academy.

Not knowing how long it would be before she could get out after the semester started, Qu Tong decided to go and buy it now.

Qu Tong once again refused the butler’s offer to arrange transportation and left on her own.

Butler Chi was left standing alone on the vast lawn, secretly heartbroken.

It seemed the madam really didn’t like their vessel. Should he ask His Highness to pick out a cheaper and simpler one for the madam?

Better still, he should just buy one himself; anything below 30 million didn’t need to trouble His Highness.

After all, the records of expenditures on the supplementary card were visible to His Highness.

Qu Tong quickly caught a taxi to the military hospital.

She asked the nurse at the front desk, who said she needed to go up to the third floor and have a doctor write a prescription for special medications.

Qu Tong had no choice but to take a number and wait on the third floor.

Since most wealthy families on Capital Star had medical pods and nursing robots at home, the hospital was quite empty and quiet, with fewer than ten people in the long corridor on the second floor.

There was one person ahead of her, and she was not sure what they were doing inside, but it was taking a while, so Qu Tong sat down outside the door to wait.

The department she needed was the first one near the stairs.

Suddenly, a ruckus came from the stairwell. A young fellow was helping another, muttering, flaxen-haired youth up the stairs.

The youth being helped was giggling nonstop, fumbling with strands of his companion’s hair, matting it into a bird’s nest.

After messing with the hair, the youth laughed happily, gushing intermittently, “Wow, Cheng Yao! When did you grow ears! So fluffy! Oh~~~ Hehe, I love it~~ Hehehe!”

The one named Cheng Yao, red-faced, struggled to stabilize Fei Wenxing while trying to stop his random touching.

“Go to hell with your fluffy! Fei Cui, keep quiet, or if you dare to tousle my hair again, I’ll chop off your hand and feed it to an Earth Dog,” Cheng Yao scolded, visibly irate as he almost stumbled over the last flight of stairs in the direction of Qu Tong.

Qu Tong quickly stood up and reached out to grab Fei Wenxing’s arm, helping to steady him and preventing a disaster.

“Thank you so much, kind miss, really appreciate it!” Cheng Yao patted his chest in a panic and apologized to Qu Tong.

He then turned back and continued berating Fei Wenxing, “If you die from a fall, it’s your own damn fault. You have no idea how heavy you are. If you don’t serve me washing my feet for a week when we get back, it would be unfair to me after all the trouble I went through to get you up here. Damn near killed me.”

Qu Tong stood to one side, watching Cheng Yao curse and support someone into the neighboring gastroenterology department.

Soon after, there were rustling sounds from inside, along with the noise of something hitting the floor.

Qu Tong, who happened to be standing right between the two departments, stretched her neck to look, but the glass on the door was frosted and she couldn’t see inside.

Just as she drew back, the door was flung open, and the two young men who had just entered were chased out by a disheveled young doctor in a white coat.

The young doctor, still furious, said, “Psychiatric patients should be sent to psychiatry, what are you doing at the gastroenterology department?”

After speaking, he looked around and then stuffed the printed medical record he was holding into Qu Tong’s hands, starting to straighten up his ruffled white coat.

Qu Tong: “…”

She was just standing here…

“No, senior, my buddy, he’s not crazy, just ate something and got a bad stomach,” Cheng Yao explained with embarrassment.

At this moment, Fei Wenxing covered his mouth in a gesture of shock while pointing behind the doctor: “There! There it is again, a fox tail!”

He then tried to pounce to grab it but fortunately was held back tightly by Cheng Yao.

“You’re telling me this is a bad stomach?” the doctor asked with a sarcastic twist of his mouth.

“Really, really! I swear! Senior, believe me, please run some tests on him first, or the poisoning will get worse,” Cheng Yao insisted firmly, his expression pleading with sincerity.

The doctor looked at Cheng Yao skeptically, then glanced at Fei Wenxing who was eying his behind intently…

After contemplating for a moment, he compromised and let his assistant roll out a bed: “Get him on this, let’s do a check and see.”

Cheng Yao, along with the assistant, somehow managed to get the restless Fei Wenxing onto the bed and fixed him in place with nursing straps.

As the assistant wheeled the man away, Cheng Yao took a couple of steps to follow, then rushed back, slightly out of breath, and said to Qu Tong, “Sorry to trouble you, beautiful lady.”

“Oh, it’s nothing,” Qu Tong reacted and handed the things back to Cheng Yao, asking casually, “Your friend is okay, right?”

“No idea, he’s the one who brought it upon himself. He watched some cooking live stream about mushrooms and tried to do it himself, ended up sending himself to the hospital,” Cheng Yao complained about his brother who never failed to cause worry.

[The following is the author’s note, commonly known as nonsense. Babies who don’t like it can skip this part.]

*

After almost half a year, I’m finally starting my second book, which is a completely different type from my last one.

I wanted to write a serious traditional fantasy novel, thought about it for half a year, and revised it to death. In the end, it was still rejected. I even abandoned the outline I had prepared.

Talking about it brings tears~

It must be the big data deciding that you guys like these quirky romance novels.

Of course, I’m an Earth Dog, and I love reading them too, or else I wouldn’t be able to write them, hehe.

I’m someone who, after writing a book, wishes to have readers; if it’s not contracted, there’s no traffic, no readers, no votes, no comments—then I get lazy and lack the motivation to write.

What type of book I write mainly depends on what type of book I like to read, haha, I’m reading other authors’ books while writing this one.

Foll𝑜w current novels on fɾēewebnσveℓ.com.

The genres I read are quite broad: period dramas, interstellar, post-apocalyptic, fantasy, redemption, authority figures, yandere, system, farming, beast worlds… There are too many subgenres to mention them all.

Did I mention any that you babies like to read?

My next book could just be among them.

There was a time when I also read non-cp, but mainly I still prefer romance novels; hence, all my stories have male and female leads.

My personal standards for romance are high, so babies, don’t worry about being disgusted by the male and female leads; the plot might be melodramatic, but the romance is absolutely loyal. Of course, I can’t guarantee the same for the secondary couples and side characters.

My writing ability and knowledge are limited; I can’t produce anything profound, like those suspense or plot-driven stories that I admire, written by the authors I envy, which might be heights I’ll never reach in my lifetime.

*

Thanks to your support, I have made it through to the fourth round.

Whenever I appealed for votes, there were so many babies who voted for me, which really moved me!

Let’s set up a group for easier communication in the future. You all understand.

QQ group: 723797115.

*

I’m quite active besides writing, and I read every comment because seeing the comments from you babies is in itself a happy thing.

But I’ve been busy over the New Year, and I don’t even have time to write, so updates may not be as punctual, and I reply less to comments. Please understand this.

Typing on a phone really sucks. Wait till I get back, and I’ll add more updates for you babies!!!

This year I’m writing through the New Year again. Thank you to the babies who have accompanied me to this point, thank you for listening to my nonsense, hahahaha!

Meeting is fate, I wish all the babies reading in advance a Happy New Year! May the Year of the Dragon bring you great luck and every success.

May all your loves be fulfilled, and may you meet only good people.

Also, hoping my book breaks through to reach more people.

*

Happy New Year!

Let’s set off fireworks and firecrackers!

I love you all!!!
