The Martial Unity-Chapter 3014: Traitorous
"The Ecologer and the Divine Doctor have begun conducting some studies on some captured Beast Incursion specimens," the Emperor of Harmony remarked. "We will soon find out on our own if the Beast Incursion is truly over or not."
After how intelligent the Beast Incursion had gotten, they didn't want to take any chances.
The two of them had already begun testing many specimens and would soon provide a conclusive report on just what the hell had happened to the beasts and monsters of human civilization after the anomaly, they had rapidly worked together, deploying their double Tree of Life enlightenment to pierce through to truth to a mystery that human civilization would have taken many years to make any progress on otherwise.
They borrowed from data from not just the Esoterist but also the Beggar Sage who had recorded everything that had unfolded in human civilization in his mind and the satellite surveillance data that also bolstered the data.
It wouldn't be long before they would successfully conclude the true nature of what had happened to the Beast Incursion and discover the shocking truth that awaited them for when they reached it.
"However, those aren't the only agendas on our docket," the Emperor of Harmony continued with a serious tone. "We have many more preliminary agendas that require our immediate attention. We need to address the impacts this will have on the mental development of the blood children with the Psycher, and we will need to consider preliminary intelligence operations on the surrounding continents of the true world."
He turn to the Esoterist. "You are in contact with the Psycher, and will be responsible for long-range intelligence surveillance into to the true world, so I will leave these two matters two you."
"Of course, I will ensure that I will get to it," the Esoterist smiled. "I think I will bring in the other immortal sages who have a stake in these events and can lend in their expertise to help human civilization in its path to prosperity."
This was a welcome suggestion.
The Scrier, the Astromind, and the several others who could help by lending their immense expertise to the cause of human civilization.
The Emperor of Harmony heaved a deep, heavy breath as he directed a sweeping gaze across the leaders of the Sage-level powerhouses.
The air was still heavy.
The atmosphere still tingled with peril. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
And yet, the leaders of human civilization found themselves emerging from the meeting with greater clarity and understanding of the sheer gravity of the situation they were in and the path forward.
However, they also emerged with some clarity for the steps that they were to take forward. For the future of human civilization. And for their own futures.
"My fellow leaders," he began with a solemn tone. "We have centered ourselves and identified our primary agendas and priorities, and we have charted a path for the immediate future. I have no doubt that we will be meeting with each other every day or every other day from this day forth until the world has returned to stability and our most immediate concerns are ameliorated."
His tone contained palpable finality.
"This conference is adjourned. May we emerge from this crisis with our will and wits."
It wasn't long before the call was completely concluded, leaving him sighing in his chair with an exhausted expression.
The past twenty years were, without a doubt, one of the worst times to be a leader. He hadn't faced such pressure in a long time.
Not since the Reign of the Master Realm.
But back then, he had been a young man with great vitality and vigor.
It reminded him of the abdication that he had considered preparing for once the Beast Incursion ended.
However, things had changed so much he couldn't even consider going for it.
"It would be irresponsible to abdicate in the current situation," he shook his head with a firm expression. "I will just have to adaptively evolve to the true world and the changing eras, as Rui would say."
The thought of his son made his mood grow more solemn as he wondered where Rui was and what he was doing.
Was he still alive?
Was he still fighting?
Was he injured?
The Emperor of Harmony didn't know.
And it reminded him of what he needed to do to learn about what had happened in the depths of the domain.
He reached for his silent commpad with a knowing expression as he turned on the notifications once more.
The conference with the leaders of human civilization about their very futures was too important to be disturbed, so he had appointed the management of the most pressing affairs to his staff and administration.
That had been a mistake.
"Your Majesty!" His Royal Secretary was uncharacteristically panicked. "I have urgent news to inform you about Tokugawa Ieyasu!"
The air boiled with tension.
The atmosphere churned with peril.
Chills crawled across the skin of the Emperor of Harmony as he recalled his ex-archenemy's warning about the Chosen One.
Can you trust him?
"What about Ieyasu?" Emperor Rael's tone was intense. "I was just about to summon him for—"
"He used the confusion of the anomaly to attack and kill all but one Martial Master of the Silas Clan!" She cut the Emperor of Harmony off mid-sentence for the first time in all the years that she had served him. "He has escaped from the Kandrian Empire before anybody could stop him!"
"No…!" The Emperor's expression crumpled with severity as he felt his gut sinking.
And yet, as he read through the reports that had begun coming in on the very recent incident since the dawn of the new world and era, the truth became absolutely clear.
Tokugawa Ieyasu had betrayed the Kandrian Empire at its very time of need.
What was worse was that the act of betrayal had been followed by a breakthrough to the Sage Realm, almost as if the universe was validating the choice he made.
