Troy's laugh was dark, almost predatory. "Straight to business. I like it. We dropped your girl off at her house. She should be over there if you want to see her. As for other businesses… the pills… Jason… They're bringing in incredible connections and money… You've created a monster. I'm so happy you and I are best friends!"

Jason's smile was cold. "Best Friends? That we are. And as for mythical creatures... Monsters can be controlled. We just need to ensure the supply chain remains untraceable. Especially to me and the people behind me."

Troy nodded, his expression turning serious. "That's the thing though… There's talk. Whispers about the hidden supplier. People are taking notice of the pill, and some of them do not play fair. They are coming, Jason. People from the capital are coming."

The Capital?

Jason frowned. He had heard those words before. A few times. His father had always told him of his ambitions of spreading his business to the capital. Back then Jason was too young to understand it but as he got older he started realising it.

The Capital is where the richest of the rich stay.

Seeing Jason having this pensive expression, Troy sighed. "Some of them are already here in this city. Watch yourself and your movements. Make sure to only share information with those you trust. I will get my men to share this information with your boys too. They are a bit dumb but they are quick learners, especially with your abilities."

Jason's eyes narrowed. People from the capital were already here, huh?

Billionaires were coming to meet him. How funny that was after he was living in squalor like some homeless person. The fact that they were coming, meant he had something special in his hands. Jason felt a rush of excitement in his heart. He couldn't help but find himself looking forward to it.

"Let them talk. Let them come. By the time they figure out the truth, it'll be too late. We would have already managed to make all the money wer needed to and set up all the infrastructure we needed to win. That's all that matters, Troy. Just making sure we win."

Troy chuckled, taking out two glasses and then pouring one out for Jason. Jason smirked. Well this time, he wouldn't mind it.

Troy raised his cigar in the air, completely agreeing with what Jason had to say, toasting silently. Jason nodded, watching the smoke linger in the air before dissipating, understanding that their unspoken alliance was stronger than ever.

But in the back of Jason's mind, the warning lingered.

Whispers had a way of turning into storms. And storms were as much opportunities as they were dangers. Now that he had people to protect he didn't want to end up making the situation unbearable for them or give himself things that would weigh him down.

As Jason returned to his car, his phone buzzed again as he began driving off. This time, it was a video call. The screen lit up with the faces of Veronica, Samantha, and Celine, their expressions a mix of curiosity and irritation.

"Jason," Veronica began, her voice firm yet tinged with affection. "Why are you avoiding us tonight? Samantha just told me she checked your office and you never came to work today."

Jason smirked, tilting the camera to show his surroundings. He was in his car at that moment, driving down the road, and when they saw it they smirked. "Busy day. But I'll make it up to you another time."

Samantha's sharp eyes narrowed as she spotted something. "Who was in your car? I know you weren't alone in there. There must have been a female in there. And it must have been a pretty one."

"It must have been Mia, or someone else." Samantha chimed in after a while, narrowing her eyes.

"Who's Mia?" Veronica said with a smile laced with curiosity.

"Veronica... you have no idea what these two get up to when you're not around." Samantha began, smiling to Jason. "I'll tell you all about it in the future. You will never look at him the same ever again."

Jason sighed. These women were going to drive him crazy.

Jason laughed, a low, rich sound that made all three women lean closer to their screens. "Jealous, Samantha? Maybe you and I can do the same things... Someday. If you beg me enough."

"I'd never beg you for anything. But I do remember you kneeling at my feet for something, your eyes looking up at me, begging me to plant my pussy on your—"

"Oh my god, Samantha!" Celine said, holding her sister back by putting her mouth over her hand. Samantha laughed and Veronica shook her head. Jason smiled wryly. Yep... They were going to drive him insane.

Celine's voice chimed in, playful and sultry. "You're a dangerous man, Jason Cross. How do you have both of these beautiful women on your plate like this?"

Jason gave her a cryptic smile. "You seem curious. How badly do you want to find out?" They all cooed and Jason chuckled. "I have to go. Don't miss me too much."

"Boo!!!" Samantha said with a frown, giving Jason a thumbs down. Jason and Celine chuckled seeing this, and Veronica spoke up next.

"Take care of yourself. And call me when you need me. I will be over in a flash."

Jason smirked and ended the call. He was glad they were doing well. And it seemed Samantha was hanging out with Veronica more often. Was that a good thing or a bad thing? But there was something funny about all this though...

What was Celine doing over there?

Jason shook his head... Jason thought a bit more and then dialled another number at the red light.

Isabella answered his call immediately, her face lighting up despite the sterile backdrop of the hospital break room. "Jason," she whispered, her voice soft yet filled with longing. "I wish you could text me before calling me like this… You know I'm working."

Jason's voice dropped to a gentle, commanding tone. "Can't a man call his woman just to hear her voice?"

Isabella's cheeks flushed, and she glanced around to ensure no one was listening. "You're impossible."

Jason's smirk deepened. "Take care of yourself, Isabella. I'll be waiting for you."

But Isabela was not done. Oh no, what she wanted to do was give him a big gift that he would never forget.

Isabella told Jason something at that moment. "Wait… Before you go, I have a gift for you,"

Jason turned to her and looked at her. What was this? But in the next moment, he understood as she began fiddling with her T-Shirt, thereafter revealing a boob. Jason laughed and looked at her, what was this woman doing?

But he did love seeing it. "Why thank you good lady for that fine titty," Jason said, eliciting a laugh from Isabella, who looked at him in a way that made him chuckle. What the hell was he supposed to say to that?

He then told her he would call her another time and she nodded, saying she would love to see him again, very soon if possible. Jason smirked too. Well, he was also looking forward to that moment.

Little did he know that he would see her sooner than he expected.

After saying that Jason turned off the call driving off and focusing on the ring of the thoughts in his head. After all, there was more to this situation than ever and it was way too complex to let things go like that.

But Jason was still smirking as he pulled in close to Grayson apartments. Emily had gotten kidnapped. She was probably feeling a bit off. Jason needed to make sure she was okay.

As always there was someone who opened the door for him, letting him in, and as he went up the stairs he passed by Emily Grayson's father. Thomas Grayson. The man looked dishevelled and greyer than ever and it was way too interesting to see something like that.

Jason did feel a bit bad. Not because he was sad for the man or anything, but just because he really could not care less.

"Hello, Thomas," Jason said to him, smirking like he was seeing his best friend. But the man looked at him in a way that would have turned any person to stone. Luckily Jason had the best shield for this Medusa. He really could not care less about his bullshit.

"Jason… You ruined everything. You ruined my daughter. I will never forgive you." The man said from the door to his apartment.

Jason didn't even take him seriously. But he did take note of the desperation in his voice. The man was ex-military. Maybe if he was 20 years younger he would be a problem... But he's nothing special.

Maybe he meant his words, and maybe he might be a real problem in life after all. If that was the case, then Jason was very willing to take this situation in the most dangerous direction. He could take away his daughter. He could take away so much more from him.

As Jason arrived at Emily Grayson's door, it seemed she was ready for him, opening the door and giving him the brightest smile.

"Jason!!" As Jason was pounced upon by Emily, he smirked. Damn. he was happy she was so energetic but still… What was it about this girl and her sweetness and personality that just brought this warmth into his heart? She was more forward now too, probably because she was comfortable around him.

Jason would love for her to be even more comfortable.

"I'm glad you're safe, Emily," Jason said, carrying her inside her apartment. She nodded, and let herself get carried away, her eyes shining stars.
