The door opened and Clift entered carrying a cute pink box while behind him Jay came carrying a tray of plates and a tall mug.

Lory’s face instantly beamed, and she clapped her hands happily. "Is that my cake?"

"Yes, as promised" Clift put the cake on the coffee table in front of Lory.

"I’m not that old" Lory squinted her eyes in protest then cut a piece of cake and placed it on the plate, she then took a fork and started eating in relish.

"Has the former Mayor signed his testimony?" Fred tilted his head.

Jay nodded, "Yes, all the testimonies have been recorded and signed." Suddenly their conversation was interrupted by the phone ringing which seemed to be from Fred. Fredhardt took out his phone and then gave a quick answer.

"Yes!" Fred leaned back in his chair not long after a smirk appeared on his face. "Is that so? Tell him, I’ll decide the time and place, whether he wants to accept it or not it’s up to him, give him an hour to answer" Fred hung up his phone soon after his expression deepened.

"What’s wrong?" Jay was curious.

"Victor Cross asked for a secret meeting." Fred glanced at Jay mischievously.

"The leader of the World Guild Association, what does he want?" Clift was stunned.

"Guess it’s because he knew we found out about his involvement with the Underground Guild, he might wanted to salvage his situation" Lory commented while licking her fork.

"Yes, he must be afraid we cut all cooperation with WGA" Fred had expected a reaction from the WGA after what happened in Ember City.

Unlike the Underground Guild, the World Guild Association or WGA always trying to maintain a good relationship with Harland because the Guild needed Gifted people as a hunter and most Gifted people came from Harland whether they were born there or migrated there because it was known to everyone as Gifted people their lives were safer in Harland.

Lory had just finished her second slice of cheesecake when she walked up to Fred. "What about Ingram Terrence, the leader of the underground Guild, did he say anything?"

"No, but I’m sure he’ll be scared now. But he won’t come to us. I think he’s crawling back to his boss for help now," Fred knew what kind of man Ingram Terrence was, a coward and opportunistic.
