Chapter 1351: Deceit

Lory returned to the Cestine palace while carrying a box of Taiyaki when she entered the King’s study room Fred was in the midst of tidying up a few files with Clift helping him. When they heard the door open up Fred and Clift simultaneously turned toward the door."

You’re back earlier than I thought?" Fred looked at his watch and commented.

Lory handed Clift the Taiyaki box and replied, "With all the work we have, how can I walk around the city with a calm mind?"

"Since you’re so considerate, I just happened to have sorted out what work we need to finish today," Fred patted the pile of documents on the table with a big smile.

Lory stared at the pile of papers with a helpless look, it seemed like she wouldn’t sleep again today, should she be grateful that she had severe insomnia?

Lory walked around the table and pulled out a chair to sit down after which Fred immediately placed over the files that Lory needed to check on the table.

At the same time, Clift moves the cake that Lory brought to a small plate and places it on the table for Lory and Fred.

"Oh, Ryuzo’s Best Taiyaki?" Fred recognized the distinctive aroma of the fish cake, "Did you visit Mr. Ryuzo’s stall?" he was surprised that Lory still remembered the place.

While checking the documents, Lory nodded. "Yes, I happened to pass by his stall so I checked to see if it was the same stall... Do you know Mr. Ryuzo is still selling there?"

"Of course, Mr. Ryuzo bought the whole street just so he could sell fish cake there," Fred informed in a casual tone.

"Huh?" Lory walked away confused.

Fred was confused. "You don’t know?"

Seeing Lory’s confused face, it was clear that Lory didn’t know who Ryuzo really was.

Fred just remembered that he never explicitly explained who Ryuzo was because he thought everyone knew and this was not an important matter but it seems Lory is the only one who didn’t know about Ryuzo.

"Did you know Ryuzo’s family used to work as gardeners at Cestine Palace?"

Lory nodded "Yes, I just found out from Ryuzo earlier"

Fred rubbed his head realizing Lory didn’t know anything, "Then you should know, he felt very indebted to your father and Lucient family who had helped his family beyond his rights as an employee of the Cestine Palace. Long story short, he opened a cake shop just for fun after he gave up his prestigious position, who would have thought his shop would grow rapidly he start opened many branches not only in Harland but also in other countries with the simple name of the shop, Best Taiyaki," Fredhardt explained.

Lory gape "Mr. Ryuzo is rich!"

Fred’s smile twitches "Funny coming from you"

"..." Lory shrugged.

Fred waved his hand "Anyway, he insisted on continuing to open the stall in that place, even though he can only open the stall for half a day"

Lory realized that she never went to Ryuzo’s stall in the afternoon

also on Saturdays and Sundays because of her busy schedule, "But why did he insist on selling Taiyaki in that place?"

Fred tilted his head then smiled meaningfully "You don’t know?"

Lory stared at him blankly not long after that a gentle smile spread across her face "So that’s why..."

What better thing to do than serve the Daughter and son of the man he admired so much? For Ryuzo Spending a few minutes with Lory and Lucas was more meaningful and precious than adding another profit to his luxurious office and after Lory was reported to be dead Ryuzo still opened his stall in that same place as a way to remember the young Princess.

"It’s been so long since I was gone..." Lory said in a low tone.

"There is no time limit to mourn over someone, don’t you think?" There’s a sense of melancholy lingering in Fred’s voice.

Suddenly their conversation was disturbed by the sound of the telephone ringing.

Lory recognized the number who called him he picked up the phone immediately

"Hi Lilly, how are you?"

"Hi... Lory," she still felt awkward calling Lilly by her name.

"What’s wrong?" Lory guessed Lilly was calling her for something important.

"Remember when you said the enemy would use someone to approach me?"

"Yeah, is there a suspicious person approaching you?" Lory was quite surprised because the enemy moved faster than she expected.

"Yeah, you know Sean Lockwood, the actor?" she was a bit embarrassed to tell Lory about this.

"Oh, that guy?" A cocky smile with cunning ice-blue eyes came to her mind.

Hearing Lory’s tone of voice, he guessed Lory might have met with Sean Lockwood somehow "Do you know him?"

While propping her chin Lory sighed "Briefly... Tell me what makes you suspicious of him?"

"Well, I feel a weird vibe around him, and...he’s trying too hard to get my attention" Lilly sounds uneasy.

Lory chuckles then teases: "Who knows, you are cute so he might fall in love with you"

Lilly snorted, "Did you forget about my Gift? From the aura he exudes, I can tell he has no romantic feelings for me at all..."

"Oh, what are you looking at?" Based on their brief interaction, Lory didn’t think Sean was a sentimental man.

"Judging from his aura, at most he’s just intrigued and curious, but he doesn’t have any romantic feelings at all." she peeved.

Lory pondered for a moment then asked "Where did you meet him?"

"I met him at Mr. Zhao’s painting exhibition held by my grandparents at the Xiya Exhibition Center"

"Oh, you are in the Xiya country?" Lory was surprised.

Lilly’s tone changed to excited "Yes, after all, it’s an ink painting so there’s no place more suitable than Xiya country and the welcome from that country also exceeds other places, I heard that even the Xiya country’s minister of culture forced my grandfather to meet Mr. Zhao"

Lory was delighted to hear others praising Zhao Li Xin. "That’s to be expected, with a talent like my husband it’s natural for them to be curious"

Lory shamelessly bragged about Zhao Li Xin but Lilly didn’t feel anything wrong with it because she witnessed how the Xiya country’s minister of culture stalked her Grandfather throughout the exhibition until her grandfather had to politely chase him away.

"As a result, my grandfather became easier to meet his old friends and he got a lot of information from them but let my grandfather explain it"

"Oh everything went smoothly, huh" Lory was also happy because Hugo’s plan went smoothly.

"Yes, until Ethan Lockwood came, he seemed suspicious of something and I guess he pretended to approach me to investigate my grandfather’s movements"

"I will ask the Noxcra agent to tighten your family’s guard" Lory assured him then continued "And the problem of Sean Lockwood I hope you can avoid him, my gut telling me he is a dangerous man"

Lilly was touched by Lory’s concern, "Don’t worry about me, oh...my Grandfather wanted to talk with you, see you later Lory"

"See you again Lilly" Lory waited for a few seconds then she heard Hugo’s voice.

"Your Highness" Hugo courteously greed her.

"How are you Hugo, I heard you made a big splash in the Xiya country"

Hugo laughed "I can’t do it without Mr. Zhao’s help," Hugo said modestly.

"Then how is your plan progressing?" Lory asked.

"Everything went smoothly I managed to influence the sale of Aeon’s new weapons to several countries on the grounds of security and unfair monopoly rights by Luxemborough I even pulled the S.A.I.N.T. organization regarding the reason they only helped Luxemborough and this has become a hot topic of conversation lately" Hugo explained proudly.

Hearing this Lory finally understood Luxemborough’s desperate actions towards Victor Kross.

"Oh, no wonder they changed their target to the World Guild Association" Lory pressed the speaker’s tone so Fred and Clift could hear.

"Yes, I heard that. I don’t know how they could force Victor Kross to agree to that stupid rule. If that happens, it will be difficult to stop the military from buying the weapons." Hugo was vexed, knowing these moves would spoil his plan.

"Don’t worry about that, your Son will take care of that matter" Fred chimed in.

Hugo was startled "Wait, Ethan will solve this matter, how?"

"Yes, turns out the enemy used MADD to force Victor Kross to submit, therefore Ethan will find a way to help Victor Kross and everyone who became a victim of that horrible device, if everything goes well we could expect WGA as our new allies"

"Marvelous!! what great news" Hugo was thrilled.

"Yes but that also means the enemy will get more serious, I heard someone with the name Sean Lockwood courted Lilly" Lory’s number one priority is still Hamilton’s safety.

Hugo scoffed in the open and disdained "Yes, another playboy trying to seduce my granddaughter again, why this is always happening?!"

"It’s not my fault!" Lilly protest.

Lory inwardly pities Lilly for having bad luck when it comes to men

"By the way, I will send female Noxcra to act as Lilly’s best friend, so advise you never leave the house without her"

"Yes!" Lilly answered readily.

"Well, that’s all I wanna inform you, Your Highness, please be well and please inform me if you need anything" Hugo politely said.

"Likewise, Mr Hamilton"

After her conversation with Hugo and Lilly ended, Lory said to Clift, "Send more agents to guard the Hamilton family, I think they really pissed off the enemy this time."

"On it!" Clift picked up his phone to give orders to his subordinates. Meanwhile, Lory and Fred brainstormed about the situation.

"Call Jay to get all the information on Sean Lockwood"

"Yes" Fred pressed the ’send button on his phone after that he placed his cell phone on the table, and turned his gaze to Lory "Have you met Sean Lockwood?"

"Yes, we took an undercover assignment as a bodyguard to escort some celebrities for a photo shoot and Sean Lockwood was one of them"

"What kind of guy is he?" Clift asked.

Lory leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms in front of her chest, "Just like any other celebrity, overconfident, arrogant, and annoying"

"I heard he’s quite handsome?" Fred teased.

Lory rolled her eyes "Have you seen my husband?"

"You got a point" Fred can’t refute it.
