The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1381: The Daughter of Lucient II
Chapter 1381: The Daughter of Lucient II
Everyone stared at the door as the echoing footsteps got closer and closer at the same time the air around them strangely became heavy and heavy as if a mountain was pressing down on their chests.
A second later that felt like hours, a woman in a light grey dress entered the room, her movement was graceful and she exuded a noble aura unlike anything theyhad ever seen except at their King.
’Hold on!’
The first thing they noticed was her dark blue hair glistening under the soft light from the chandelier, then their gazes fell on the woman’s fair skin and beautiful countenance...why did that face look so familiar?
The y all momentarily pause and for a long minute no one moves as if the time had stopped, afterward, at the same time they all jump to their feet with their eyes wide open.
"How...how could it be?" they mutter under their breath.
Those beautiful purple eyes like gems, the most striking feature belong only to one family and no advance technology in the world could imitate that eye color, they knew because they had tried it. Fargo pulled the king’s chair so Lory could sit, after which Fredhardt and Fargo took positions on Lory’s left and right.
"I... this... am I dreaming?" Sylvia blinked a few times to make sure that she was not dreaming.
"Miss Forth, if you are dreaming then we are all dreaming too..." The old official next to Sylvia leaned weakly on the table as he struggled to stay standing.
Leon was dumb-stricken, his shoulders trembled profusely trying to contain joy and excitement as all the memories came and hit him like a wrecking ball.
’Leave the L’Markieth to me, Your Highness..’
’Let’s have a drink later...’
Even to this day he never stopped wondering, if he had stopped Princess Lorient from leaving L’markieth that time, would the ending have been different? What if he had insisted on accompanying her, would she still be alive? If, if only...? Alas, it was all in vain, she was gone...
Still and all, he couldn’t stop wondering about what he could have done, what he could have changed, later on, he was drowned in sorrow anger, and regret.
He thought those feelings would torment him until the day he died... but then, she came back.
"Prin - cess, oh, sh*t!" tears welled up in the corners of his eyes, Leon lifted his face abruptly to stop the tears that threatened to fall.
No one bothered to rebuke Leon’s words because everyone was trying to control their emotions. They were all the toughest, smartest, andmost charismatic high- ranking officials who were respected and feared not only in Harland but also by other nations but now they all were fighting their tears not to fall which caused their faces to contort in hilarious ways.
It might seem insensitive but Lory couldn’t help but stifle a smile seeing a bunch of middle-aged people on the verge of crying, it was a funny scene though at the same time, she was also deeply moved.
"Long time no see, everyone. I’m glad to see you all safe and well, although I see more gray hair in some of you, but if I may say, you all look cooler with that." Lory made a light joke to lighten the mood while winking at Leon.
As expected, the tense atmosphere gradually eased with Lory’s playful remarks, Fredhard smiled faintly, feeling proud at how well Lory controlled the situation in the room.
"Ah yes, my hair has indeed turned more gray since the last time we met, I’m glad you like it...I’m glad," Leon laughed as he averted his gaze and then pretended to wipe his face, but secretly, he was wiping tears from the corner of his eyes.
"Are you... Really, Princess Lorient?" one of the officers blurted out his thought loudly.
Of course, it was a stupid question. Because even if there were some idiots out dare who dared to pretend to be Princess Lorient, forget about fooling them, the old official, that fake wouldn’t last a day under the scrutiny of the Archknights who had grown up with Princess Lorient.
Lory was not offended, she stretched her hand beside her and then opened her palms as the trinity staff appeared in her hands. Everyone had seen the trinity scepter and knew that it was the strongest weapon that was only slightly weaker than the seven divine swords.
Similar to the King’s divine weapon, the staff chose its own master, so no one could use the trinity staff other than Princess Lorient because she was the one chosen by the staff.
"I also want to show my wings as well, but I don’t want my dress to get ruined here." Lory tilted her head and smiled.
"It also not appropriate, right" Fredhardt chimed in.
"I think the evidence is enough, you don’t think anyone can deceive us, Archknights, right?" Fargo glared at them to warn them to stop making stupid comments.
"My mistake, please don’t mind me," the official who had previously blurted his thought out loud knew he had been rude and quickly lowered his head in shame.
Seeing Fargo and Fredhardt’s protective attitude toward Lory, Leon chuckled. He felt like he was back in the past when they were still a bunch of naughty kids that annoyed him every day. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Sylvia’s expression also softened because she did not doubt that the woman in front of her was the real Princess of Lorient. One could disguise her appearance to resemble Princess Lorient, but one would not be able to imitate the deep bond between the Archknight and the princess, nor would they be able to exude the same unique aura as Princess Lorient.
Sylvia placed her hand on her right chest and bowed courteously, "Welcome back, Your Highness."
Everyone jerked to their feet and then followed suit. They bowed their head courteously, then spoke in tune, "Welcome home, Your Highness, Princess Lorient Jean Frau Lucient!"
Fredhardt and Fargo smiled in satisfaction. Lory clasped both of her hands on the table and smiled gracefully. "Nice to see you all again, let’s start the meeting!"
The meeting that Lory was worried about went more smoothly than Lory expected, perhaps because the people who attended were people carefully selected by Fredhardt and Fargo, people who were known to be loyal supporters of the Lucient family even by Harland’s standards, so it wasn’t hard to convince them, but it might be harder to do with the other officials.
First, Lory explained what happened to her after seizing the seven gods’s swords by force however, she omitted many details including about Lazarus, Emperor Lei Yu, Arthea, and others thing that she thought it was irrelevant to the current problem, she also worried that it would only make them unnecessarily anxious.
Lory then recounts what she has done after returning to this world, which also leads her to the discovery of the coalition between Luxemborough and the S.A.I.N.T. organization. Lory also tells them about the disappearance of the healers and the project that Aeon is working on.
Lory also explained that there would be a direct witness, Lydia Boyd, who was a former member of the S.A.I.N.T. organization.
They were shocked when they heard Lory’s story about her actions since returning to this world. Who would have thought that Lory was involved in various major incidents that had occurred recently and during that time she managed to collect a lot of concrete evidence about Luxemborough and the S.A.I.N.T. organization misdeed.
Not only that, they also did not expect that Lory was the person behind the rescue mission of Ethan Hamilton from Luxemborough’s clutches, and he was the one who made the quick decision to recruit Ethan Hamilton to N.I.M.S.
Furthermore, this decision finally led Ethan Hamilton to make an important breakthrough in creating a new weapon to face a strange creature named Bael.
As expected of Lucient’s descendants, when the world was on the brink of chaos, they were always there to be relied on. Their hearts were filled with admiration and gratitude for Lory’s timely presence. Slowly, the dark fog that had previously enveloped them was slowly dispelled and replaced by a better hope for the future.
"Then what about King Lucas? Will he be okay?" Sylvia asked worriedly.
For Sylvia and all the people of Harland, Lucas’s existence was still very important. To ensure their victory, they needed the last two descendants of Lucient as the beckoned of hope for the kingdom if not the world, because once again they were facing another trouble times.
"Don’t worry, I promise nothing will happen to my brother, although my healing power is not enough to cure the King, but with the help of my husband, the king will be saved. I swear in the name of the Lucient family" Lory said with utmost confident.
Sylvia sighed in relief. "I believe in you, Your Highness....wait a minute... your husband?"
Everyone also came back from their momentary relief and simultaneously turned to look at Lory. For a long moment, they stared at Lory more intensely than before.
Leon gasped, his eyes looked like they were about to jump out of their sockets, his lips trembling, "Ma - ma - ma - married?"
’That’s a lot ma,’ Fargo thought.
Fredhardt’s expression turned wary as he worried Leon wouldn’t faint, he wondered if he should call a medical team? Fredhardt slipped his hand into his pocket to get his phone.
Lory was startled by their reaction, she tilted her head and then speak in a nonchalant manner "Oh didn’t I tell you, I’m married...?"
"WH...WHAT!!!" everyone shouted in unison.
"Eh?" Lory’s neck shrank, not knowing why they were all so shocked. Now she felt offended.
