Chapter 627: The Dark War 22

The cannons and pigmen using them were near the shrine wall, compared to the black pigmen who were near the edge of the steps—he had used it from a bit of distance exactly for this reason—covering many black monsters. Still, many near the laser cannons were left alive. But the pigmen soldiers were fighting constantly and had not stopped for a second to see what was happening.

They were just happy to have a few seconds to breathe after killing the monsters near them.

"You go get Sam, I will take care of it," Damian said.

Lucian and Maelor finally stopped pouring their mana inside the giant steel pillar and let it go. Damian instantly connected his hundreds of mana threads to continue producing the mana cloud.

This was the best place for him to assist the whole battlefield. The fight between the four Transcendents and the legendary-ranked black pigman holding the black shiny sword—which Damian assumed was the Demon Lord’s main body now since he’d gotten rid of Land Breaker’s body—was happening just outside the ice wall. Damian could see the guy trying to close in to break the ice wall again. He wasn’t the only legendary-ranked black one there. The Demon Lord had ordered each legendary and other black ones to break the ice wall immediately; it wasn’t strong enough to last for even ten full minutes.

But it was a temporary fix. Damian had never put any hope in a flimsy ice wall anyway.

"Are you sure?" Maelor asked before stepping inside the waygate Lucian just opened targeting Sam.

"Yes. Help him if you can. Or just get him back here if it’s too much," Damian replied while pulling out big generators after generators of liquid mana he had made before.

After making sacrium mana cubes, he didn’t use them much. He was going to stay here though and not go anywhere. These simple stationary mana generators were the best helpers he could ask for in such a situation. He could not extend endless aura to these though, and had to limit himself to just 30 mana generators alongside his five floating mana cubes. Damian had made so much raw material and stored it in his special spatial storage for generating liquid mana, he thought it would last him for years to come—but it was already one-fourth empty. He was using too much mana.

And it showed. Even with a Transcendent body, Damian felt tiredness and exhaustion—he had refilled his own body’s mana pool over a hundred times now. Not to mention the focus required for operating so many mana threads at once, constantly, all this time, was a burden even to a person with 500 plus INT. The normal humans from their magical world were not built to handle so much mana.

But this was not over yet.

Damian inhaled deeply and weaved hundreds and hundreds of runic circles as his liquid mana generators did their work and filled the giant tanks placed in front of him. The steel pillar was already working at full power—dispersing the mana clouds at its limit. The steel pillar had started to show cracks in it now; that wouldn’t last for more than half an hour.

With enough mana generated, Damian powered all his spells and sent them at the most optimal places to wreak as much havoc as possible. Over 200 chained lightning spells went off in the sky, covering over 5 kilometers north of the stone shrine, where the black army was most dense in numbers. The Transcendents fighting the Demon Lord were in this direction too, but they would manage to survive. The lightning did not do much damage to legendary ones. Even to Emperor-ranked ones, it only injured, and only after repeated lightning landing on their heads did they die. The lightning was not a single-target attack though—the best thing about it was that it damaged a wide area, hitting multiple enemies at once.

Next, Damian launched a hundred light-structure-making circle spells that constantly made the same-sized light structures and spat them out from the little golden portal. It was originally Sariel’s spell, but Damian had modified it enough to make it keep generating light structures instead of just shaping one. The mana cost was tremendous to keep it going, but the result was also clear to see—the whole battlefield from all four sides of the stone shrine came alive with loud noise and bright color as both golden light explosions and purple lightning struck the dark army without any mercy, turning everything moving into meat paste.

The third thing Damian did was to place 25 laser spells on each side of the top of the stone shrine where he was—he didn’t need to see the black pigmen to attack them. He could sense them and aim without looking. It wasn’t easy, which was why there were only 100 such spells.

Beside it was just cleaning up—the majority of the black monsters were behind the ice wall he had just repaired, trying to break in, while others near the shrine Damian had frozen, and the remaining were killed by the pigmen warriors. He was just shooting any flying ones which came near him from above with these 100 lasers, and the occasional land-based ones which survived somehow and managed to come up.

Done with these, Damian activated a waygate connecting to the trees in the inner city from where the pigmen were using waygates to escape. Seeing his floating head coming out of a shimmering blue portal, the pigmen warriors immediately ran and found the prince and queen who were managing the escaping effort. Damian ordered them through the translator to pull back all the pigmen soldiers from the laser cannons placed on the stone shrine and make them go through the waygates too—and hurry up.

Damian didn’t want to waste effort in protecting the cannons and the pigmen using them when he had his spells. Besides, this was the end.

He had prepared enough. After launching these spells, Damian finally paused the constant fight against the black pigmen. Now the only thing he needed to do was to create and place four giant steel pillars to make a barrier covering the whole stone shrine, and he could finally go and finish the Demon Lord. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
