The Sevpons-Chapter 36: The Storm Begins
Chapter 36 - The Storm Begins
Kai reached the castle. The sounds of clashing steel and monstrous growls echoed through the castle grounds. The castle soldiers were locked in fierce combat with the monsters. Without hesitation, Kai darted through the air like a black arrow. Just as a monstrous claw was about to slash a soldier's throat, Kai dropped in with a powerful spin-kick, launching the creature several meters away into a wall with a loud crash. Blood smeared across the floor as Kai snatched up the fallen soldier's sword and zipped through the battlefield like a thunderbolt, slicing through monsters as though they were paper.
The soldiers, inspired by his speed and precision, rallied with renewed strength and eliminated the remaining beasts. Kai landed in front of the soldiers' leader, his eyes glowing with adrenaline.
"Glad to see you again, your friend came to find you but now he and Prince Wei are not in the castle. We have to save them both. Do you know where they are?" the soldier's leader asked, still panting.
"I don't know, but we should go in the direction from where those monsters came from," Kai answered, sheathing the borrowed sword across his back.
"How did they come to this dimension?" the soldier's leader asked, frowning.
"Prince Wei did that, he has 6 Sevpons already, including the BlackFire," Kai answered, tightening his jaw.
"Why would Prince Wei do this?" the soldier's leader asked, stunned.
"Then why he tried to kill us and why is he collecting Sevpons?" Kai asked back, eyes narrowed.
"I don't trust you," the soldier's leader said sharply.
"Then follow me, you'll know it's Prince Wei, soon," Kai said coldly and turned around.
Without another word, the soldier's leader motioned to his men. The whole battalion followed Kai across the broken terrain. As they approached the chaotic field, they saw it—the portal spewing endless waves of monsters, and at the center of it all... was Prince Wei.
He stood on a darkened platform, channeling the portal's energies, summoning beasts into their realm. The soldier's leader stared in disbelief. His heart pounded with betrayal.
"ATTACK!" he shouted, voice cracking, and his army charged toward the monsters and their prince.
Kai scanned the battlefield and noticed a dense cluster of monsters swarming something—or someone. A sudden lightning strike cracked from within. Kai's eyes widened. "No way..."
He flapped his wings hard, gaining altitude, slicing the wind with each beat. Hovering above, he spotted them—Jin and Prince Ryu—surrounded, backs against one another, fighting valiantly.
Kai swooped in, dodging beastly claws and magical blasts. In one fluid motion, he grabbed both of them by their arms and lifted them high into the sky, the wind howling around them. He landed them gently on solid ground away from the horde.
"Kai, you are, you are alive," Prince Ryu said in shock.
"Glad to see you too," Kai replied with a tired grin.
"Prince Wei said you guys were dead," Jin said, wiping blood from his cheek.
"He told you the truth, he killed us in the past, that's why Ryu and Tony started glitching, but thanks to the last Sevpon which has kept them alive," Kai replied grimly.
"You guys found the last Sevpon?" Prince Ryu asked, amazed.
"Yes, and Wei is the wielder of that Sevpon," Kai replied, lowering his head.
"That's good news," Prince Ryu said, hopeful.
"But Wei doesn't have his magical powers now," Kai added darkly.
"Now that's bad news," Prince Ryu frowned.
"Where are the others?" Jin asked, adjusting his stance.
"They are on their way here," Kai answered.
"What do we do until that?" Prince Ryu asked, tightening his grip on his sword.
"We make him use BlackFire too much. You already know using a Sevpon too much gives you fatigue," Kai answered, his voice serious.
"Then let's do this," Jin said, cracking his knuckles.
"But first we have to keep him away from his monster army," Prince Ryu said, eyes scanning the chaos.
"Leave this to me," Kai said.
With a burst of wind, Kai shot off like a missile. He reached Prince Wei in seconds, slamming into him and dragging him far away from the frontlines. Prince Wei struggled mid-air, his body glowing faintly as he unleashed a spell. A blast of dark energy knocked Kai back. Prince Wei twisted in mid-air and landed on a hill, scanning the empty surroundings.
"I know you are here, fight like a man, show yourself!" Prince Wei roared, fists clenched.
"No, I am not here," Kai whispered from above, and then swooped down. He punched Prince Wei hard in the jaw and vanished again with a burst of wind.
"You should have died yet, how are you still alive?" Prince Wei growled, holding his face.
"I also want the answer," Jin appeared in a blink, kicked him in the ribs, and disappeared again before the prince could react.
Suddenly, an electric burst exploded across Prince Wei's chest, causing him to stumble back.
"ENOUGH!" Prince Wei bellowed.
With fury, he summoned the BlackFire and activated a glowing, invisible forcefield around himself. Jin reappeared and tried to strike again, but the barrier repelled him violently, hurling him across the clearing. He rolled across the dirt, groaning.
Seizing the opportunity, Prince Wei hurled a blazing black fireball at Jin. Jin teleported just in time, appearing behind him. Another fireball followed. And another. Jin teleported again and again, playing a deadly game of tag. He was keeping the prince busy, forcing him to expend energy. Sparks flew, and fireballs scorched the earth.
Prince Ryu sent a surge of lightning at the prince, but the forcefield deflected it. The crackling bolt ricocheted back toward him. With agile reflexes, he dove to the side, barely avoiding it.
Despite his efforts, Jin got clipped by a fireball and was sent sprawling. Prince Wei closed in, sword ready, but Jin vanished once again. The prince growled, scanning for him. His eyes darted left and right.
Suddenly, Kai struck with full flying speed, his foot crashing into Prince Wei's forcefield. The barrier shattered into shards of black energy and sent Prince Wei flying into the dirt, coughing.
"Impossible! Nothing can break the shield produced by the BlackFire!" Prince Wei gasped, staggering back to his feet.
In rage, Prince Wei slammed the BlackFire into the ground. The entire dimension quaked. A deafening roar filled the air. Shockwaves burst out in all directions, toppling buildings, tearing trees from their roots, and throwing every living being to the ground.
Except Kai.
Hovering in the sky, he braced himself against the tremors. Dust filled the air. Silence followed. Then Kai darted forward, determined to end it.
But in a flash, Prince Wei reappeared behind him. He grabbed Kai's leg mid-air, raised the BlackFire, and slashed.
Kai screamed as his wings were torn off in one brutal slice. Blood sprayed into the air as Kai plummeted.
On the ground, Prince Wei advanced to finish him. Just as he swung the BlackFire, Jin reappeared and grabbed Kai. He teleported them both away in a blink.
Prince Wei stood alone, breathing heavily. He turned to the side and summoned a portal. But before stepping into it, he raised the BlackFire into the sky. The blade began glowing white, pulsing with overwhelming power.
"Are you alright?" Prince Ryu asked as he and Jin laid Kai down gently.
"Yes," Kai said in pain, clutching his side.
"Who said you to be the hero?" Jin asked in anger, his voice cracking.
"Kai, look at your arm. It's acting weird," Prince Ryu said, pointing.
"What is happening?" Jin asked urgently. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"It's happening to me as well," Kai said, his arm flickering like static.
"What is happening to you, Kai?" Jin asked again.
"I am glitching, I will soon die. Only Wei with his Sevpon can save me," Kai answered weakly.
"Where are they?" Jin asked.
"I don't know," Kai said.
"Guys, look there," Prince Ryu said, pointing toward the shimmering light.
"What is he doing?" Kai asked, struggling to sit up.
"He is about to destroy the whole dimension," Jin answered, eyes wide with dread.
