Chapter 131: Ch 131: A New Raid
The week passed quickly, and the day of the combined dungeon raid finally arrived. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Alright everyone, you know the rules. This raid is important, so make sure to keep yourself in line. And do not stand out too much until it’s time. We do not want another target over our head, right?"
Zara tried to lighten the situation, but none of the other three were listening to her.
Even she knew that her talk was ridiculous. After all, they already had a huge target on their back. It was not as if keeping a low profile would help.
"You should stop hoping for us to take it easy, Zara. You know as well as I do that my presence is too big to let that happen."
Ethan spoke with so much confidence that Zara wanted to punch him. Before she could do that, Selene interfered.
"I think we have wasted a lot of time already. We should head out before we are late."
Selene interfered before a fight could occur.
The signs of a small fight were already brewing and Selene knew that things had the potential of becoming dangerous.
That was why she decided to put the fire out before it could be ignited and she was successful this time.
’Thank god! There will be no fight this time. I don’t think our house will take internal damage well. I need to preserve this place as much as I can.’

Selene, Ethan, Zara, and Orion made their way toward the raid location, where all the participating teams had gathered.
Since this was a large-scale operation, the participants had been called a day earlier to allow for introductions, strategy discussions, and general cooperation between groups.
Orion practically bounced with excitement as they approached the site. His eyes sparkled as he took in the various teams setting up their camps, and he couldn’t contain his grin.
"This is going to be amazing! We finally get to work alongside other teams in a large-scale event! Now we can show them why we are so much better than them all."
Orion said, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
Selene smiled to herself, watching him act so giddy.
It was rare to see Orion let his guard down, and for once, he was acting like the teenager he was rather than the skilled combatant everyone expected him to be.
Zara, however, had no reservations about voicing her thoughts out loud.
"You’re acting like a ten-year-old," she teased, smirking.
Orion immediately scowled and crossed his arms.
"I am grown up! Stop treating me like a kid, Zara!"
His reaction only made Zara laugh harder.
"You say that, but you’re literally bouncing."
Ethan snorted.
"She’s got a point."
Selene chuckled as Orion shot the group a betrayed look before sighing dramatically.
"You guys are the worst."
Zara patted his head playfully.
"That’s what big sisters are for."
With Orion still grumbling, they finally arrived at the main encampment. A government official was already waiting for them and promptly led them toward their designated tent area.
The official, a middle-aged man with graying hair and a nervous expression, wrung his hands as he spoke.
"I must apologize for the lack of proper facilities. Given the scale of this operation, our resources are stretched thin. But please know that we greatly appreciate your assistance in this endeavor."
He hesitated before continuing, as if unsure whether to make a promise.
"I—I will do my best to ensure better treatment for your group in the future."
Selene’s expression remained polite as she responded with a gracious smile.
"I understand. Resources are limited, and I appreciate your honesty. We’ll manage just fine with what we have."
The man let out a sigh of relief and quickly excused himself, bowing slightly before hurrying off to attend to other matters.
As soon as he was gone, Selene’s cheerful demeanor vanished, her face turning serious. She glanced at her team and spoke in a lower voice.
"The official name of the dungeon we’re heading into is The Giant Raid of Loss."
The air seemed to grow heavier at her words.
"What kind of dungeon is it?"
Orion asked, suddenly focused.
Selene crossed her arms.
"The information provided is vague, but if it’s anything like the one I am thinking about, then this will be one of the most profitable dungeons we could run for a while."
Zara raised an eyebrow.
"Profitable in what sense?"
Selene’s eyes gleamed slightly.
"Rare resources, hidden chambers, unique artifacts—things that will be extremely valuable in the long run. But there’s a catch."
Ethan leaned against the tent’s entrance.
"There always is."
Selene nodded.
"The name ’Raid of Loss’ isn’t just for show. Many teams who are participating will lose far more than they will gain. If we’re not careful, then we might become one of them. Let’s make sure that does not happen."
The weight of her words settled over them, but before they could discuss further, a sudden shift in the atmosphere pulled Selene’s attention away.

Somewhere in another tent, a beautiful silver-haired woman sat in deep concentration, her slender fingers gently tracing the surface of a glowing crystal ball.
Her piercing violet eyes remained closed as she murmured softly, the crystal shifting in response.
A flickering image appeared within the orb—Ethan’s face.
The woman’s lips curled into a mysterious smile.
"I have found my Chosen One. Now, it is only a matter of time before things start rolling down how I want them to."
She whispered.
Before she could delve deeper into the vision, a sharp knock at the tent’s entrance shattered her concentration.
The crystal ball she was concentrating on almost fell down and cracked, but she managed to catch it in time.
She blinked, the glow of the crystal fading. With a sigh, she turned toward the door.
"Come in."
The tent flap rustled, and a young man stepped inside, bowing slightly.
"Madam Verta, the other teams are beginning their strategy discussions."
The woman stood gracefully, her silver hair flowing like liquid moonlight.
"Very well. I suppose it’s time to make my move."
As she stepped out into the encampment, her eyes flickered toward Selene’s tent, an unreadable expression crossing her face.
The pieces were in place.
