Knock knock knock—

“Who?”

Adele stopped her experiment, set down the reagent, took off her black gloves, and only after leaving the room did she remove the silver crow mask from her face.

She hung the mask on a nearby rack, jogged to the clinic door, and opened it.

“You are...”

Adele looked at the maid in plain clothes before her.

To be honest, she was slightly face-blind and didn’t really remember when she had met the other person.

“Miss Adele, I am Lady Avena’s personal maid. This is a letter Miss Ciel asked me to deliver to you.”

The maid spoke, handing over a plain envelope with both hands, without a stamp or seal.

“Ciel?”

Adele took the envelope, pulled out the letter paper, sniffed it, then nodded and began reading the letter inside.

It should be written by Ciel, no doubt.

The content of the letter was also very much in Ciel’s style, without any unnecessary greetings, getting straight to the point.

However, the content of the letter was somewhat beyond Adele’s expectations.

It simply described a certain symptom, followed by Ciel’s request to purchase some potions or mixtures from Adele to aid sleep.

Adele did have such drugs... but they all had significant dependency and side effects. If Ciel wanted to use them herself, Adele would absolutely not recommend them to Ciel.

If Adele were to recommend, she would prefer Ciel to regulate her routine and diet, supplemented with some ordinary tonics, to gradually condition Ciel’s body back to health.

Adele faintly sensed that the symptoms Ciel described... should be the symptoms Ciel herself was experiencing, not someone else’s.

“Wait a moment.”

Adele seemed to forget Ciel’s advice, hurriedly ran back to her small laboratory, grabbed a potion kit, didn’t even have time to put on the silver crow mask, and ran back to the clinic’s main door wearing her white coat.

The maid hadn’t received any extra instructions for this situation, only knowing the other person was Miss Ciel’s friend, so she didn’t suspect anything and took Adele towards Ciel’s current residence.

When they arrived at Ciel’s residence in the Gem District and stopped, Adele looked at the wooden door before her under the moonlight and streetlights, and asked, “Is this Ciel’s new home?”

“Yes, this is the place Miss Ciel recently rented.”

The maid nodded, then raised her hand and knocked on the wooden door.

“So close...”

While Adele was still curiously observing the doormat, after a short while, the wooden door opened.

“Adele?”

Ciel looked at Adele standing outside the door, seemingly somewhat surprised. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

Why is she here?

Ciel’s heart sank slightly, but soon, she calmed her mind.

Adele is only first-tier now... Even if there’s misfortune, she should be able to easily dodge it with Precognitive Sight.

Originally, Ciel’s target for help was Avena, but Avena was meticulous and would surely sense Ciel was in danger, thus rushing over to help.

If only Avena came, that would be fine, but if Avena came, Nia would definitely follow.

The current Ciel wasn’t fully confident of surviving a misfortune involving a third-tier.

What she didn’t expect was that Adele, who usually appeared carefree, would actually rush over directly after seeing the letter.

Regarding this behavior, Ciel had no standing to criticize, as the other person meant well, and it was also her own negligence for not explaining the situation clearly in the letter.

“Come in.”

Ciel stepped aside, letting Adele enter, while looking at the maid at the door and saying, “Please trouble yourself to pay attention to the surrounding security situation.”

“It is my duty, Miss Ciel.”

The maid curtsied slightly, holding her skirt, then reached out and helped Ciel close the wooden door.

When Ciel turned back to look at the living room, she didn’t see Adele’s figure.

“Adele?”

Ciel called out softly. Soon, Adele’s response came from upstairs.

“Come up!”

Is this your house or mine?

Adele’s exceptionally high initiative made Ciel somewhat helpless.

Ciel supported herself with the wooden handrail, walked towards the second floor, and followed the sound into her room.

Just entering the room, Ciel saw Adele had already spread out her potion kit, syringe kit, and her self-made portable surgery kit on her desk, fully equipped.

“Lie down on the bed, I’ll check you up.”

Hearing Ciel’s footsteps, Adele didn’t turn around but continued organizing her equipment while giving instructions.

Ciel also wanted to quickly resolve the issue with her body, obediently walked past Adele, took off her shoes and socks, lay on the bed, waiting for Adele to finish preparations.

Soon, Adele walked towards Ciel holding a syringe, whispering, “I need to do some routine checks for you. Remember to tell me if you feel uncomfortable anywhere.”

“Okay.”

Ciel nodded slightly while lying on the bed. Then, she saw Adele kneel beside the bed, using the syringe filled with translucent potion to draw some blood from Ciel’s arm.

The blood merged into the transparent liquid in the syringe. Adele gently shook the vial. Ciel’s red blood quickly turned blue inside, and soon, the potion turned from blue to black, clinging to the side of the syringe facing Ciel as if alive.

It looked like it wanted to return to Ciel’s body.

Seeing this blood reaction, Adele’s brows furrowed tightly.

Ciel is just an ordinary person...

But how could this blood...

Entering her professional field, Adele began a series of checks, injecting the black blood from the syringe into different potion vials, waiting for their reactions.

And Ciel, lying on the bed, turned her head sideways, curiously observing Adele’s every move.

This might be helpful when she takes the “Physician” potion.

After waiting for about five minutes, Adele shifted her gaze from the reagent vials, looked towards Ciel with a solemn expression, and asked:

“Ciel, I found a very rare condition in your body.”

Hearing this, Ciel asked, “What is its name?”

If she knew the name, it meant there was likely a treatment or containment method. No matter how difficult, relying on simulation and the system store, Ciel would always have a chance to obtain it.

Adele fell silent for a moment, then asked, “What name do you want to give it?”

Ciel: “...”

So it’s a new condition?

“Honestly, I haven’t seen this condition in any literature... Maybe it’s in the archives, but I’m no longer with the Redemption Society, unable to check.”

Adele hesitated for a moment, then continued, “If you said a transcendent showed these mental symptoms, I could quickly draw a conclusion.”

“But an ordinary person without transcendent abilities showing this situation... This is truly the first time I’ve encountered it.”

Ciel seemed to grasp the key point. She looked at Adele and asked, “If it were a transcendent, what conclusion would you draw?”

“It can’t be calculated like that... Even if ordinary people and transcendents show the same symptoms, their underlying causes may not be the same. Even if the causes are the same, the treatment plans will differ greatly...” Adele reminded weakly.

“It’s fine, just tell me.” Ciel said.
