Chapter 34 -34: Tyrant Contract

Editor: Larbre Studio

“Come on, have more, how is the food here?”,

Chu You and Lin Luor had come to a high-end restaurant for lunch.

For Chu You, Lin Luor, who came from far away, was a guest he needed to treat her to a meal, no matter what.

Lin Luor nodded, smiling a little, the taste of the restaurant was indeed good, it left her with a voracious appetite, but the presence of Chu You was giving her a strange feeling.

This feeling was quite abrupt, Chu You’s entire demeanor didn’t overlap with the Chu You she remembered, he was entirely different from his frivolous days in high school, there was no resemblance whatsoever, it was as if someone’s soul was replaced completely. This left Lin Luor amazed, she hadn’t seen him for just two years, what had he gone through in the interim?

From the moment they met at the entrance of the villa, Lin Luor had some inkling, but she wasn’t sure. The more in contact they were, that foreign feeling in her heart grew stronger.

Observing someone, especially a classmate she had spent three years with, that alertness became clearer and more sensitive. Chu You’s eyes, to Lin Luor, were like an abyss filled with endless depth, as though it was concealing too many secrets, she was quite fascinated and wanted to explore further. Chu You’s temperament was an internal sublimation, as though it had been tempered with life’s trials, it was steady and discreet, manly charm emitting mature allure with every gesture.

‘What are you thinking about?” Seeing Lin Luor not moving with her head lowered, Chu You asked, puzzled.

“Huh? Oh, sorry, I was lost in thought just now,” Lin Luor had not realized that her tone when speaking to Chu You had changed.

“Anything bothering you?”

” Eh, not really, I was just wondering, would the ‘Celestial World’ really, as you’ve mentioned before, have a disruptive effect on the world?”

Chu You eyes hardened, he leaned slightly forward and said seriously, “That’s not an exaggeration at all.” His demeanor then relaxed, “Now, let’s talk about your remuneration.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Luor lowered her gaze, she knew she was merely a newbie and was extremely puzzled as to why Chu You valued her so much.

Could it merely be due to their relationship as classmates? Surely that was a joke…

Nonetheless, she was already seated here, thus in this all-in bet, the door had closed behind her.

Chu You took out a bank card from his pocket and placed it on Lin Luor’s table, “This card has ten million in it, now, it all belongs to you.”

Lin Luor’s heart leaped, she hurriedly raised her head, staring at Chu You in disbelief, she was completely stunned.

Chu You smiled lightly, completely unbothered by her reaction, he took out a contract from his bag and spoke seriously as he knew her gaze.

“Look at it closely, this might cost you quite a bit…”

Lin Luor’s heart was pounding, she had considered all possibilities. But the least expected, was Chu You suddenly giving her such an unimaginably large gift. Her rapid breath caused her lips to slightly part apart. She extended her slightly trembling hand, downed the cup of light wine, her strong peripheral senses numbing the taste of the wine, her taste buds seemed to have stopped functioning, the wine tasted like water, not much feeling…

Then Lin Luor took the contract and started to read it seriously.

Chu You didn’t interrupt, eating his delicious cuisine while enjoying the scenery outside the window.

When Lin Luor finished reading, Chu You spoke solemnly, “In simple terms, this contract is akin to signing away your life.”

“Ten years…” Lin Luor murmured, the contract clearly stated that she must accompany this millionaire to play ‘Celestial World’ for ten years. Once she signed the contract, at that very moment, she would belong to Chu You.

The contract contained numerous sections that seemed like tyranny, you could say that upon signing it, for ten years, she would not have personal freedom.”

“I need your answer now, if…”

“I accept!” Lin Luor answered assertively. She knew very clearly that the terms Chu You offered her far exceeded her expectations. Although the contract was overbearing, Lin Luor believed there would be countless people willing to jump into this pit headfirst. But Chu You chose her.

In Lin Luo’s opinion, he might not know that he had helped her solve the source of the disaster at home, so what if she had to give up ten years? Her mother’s medical fees became not a problem overnight, the enormous weight in her heart dissipated, all thanks to Chu You sitting in front of her.

However, Lin Luor could not have imagined that Chu You had already learned about many things concerning her family, leading him to make this decision.

“Ten years!” Chu You extended a finger, looking at the beautiful young girl before him, his eyes shimmering with a certain expression. “Play this game well, assist me, stick by me for ten years without regrets…” He said the last four words lightly, but nobody could deny the power they contained.

Gazing at Lin Luor whose flushed face was tempting enough to take a bite of, Chu You lightly said, “A reminder for you, use the money where it needs to be used as soon as possible, don’t keep it for long, otherwise, you’ll find that its depreciation speed is beyond your imagination!”

Lin Luor readily signed the contract. In this era, there were no deceptive contracts anymore. Chu You’s contract was a legitimate one issued by a joint national agency. Although the terms Chu You set seemed domineering, they were accepted. If the party who breached the contract wanted to sue, they would lose regardless of which department they went to. Once signed, there was no changing it. It’s a legitimate yet peculiar contract.

“Chu You, what should I address you as now?” Lin Luor seemed a bit nervous, her attitude towards Chu You seemed slightly different after signing the contract.

“Just call me by my name. Have you eaten enough? Let’s go back then.”

Chu You has already changed the course of Lin Luor’s previous life. The burden of her family that motivated her to become strong in the “Celestial World” was gone, so Chu You used this contract to similarly motivate Lin Luor to become stronger. You need to know that this contract is not just about accompanying him in the game for ten years; there are other requirements as well. As for its effect, Chu You was not worried. Lin Luor had a foundation, as seen from her previous life, and with his own encouragement and guidance, she would only become better and stronger.

Soon, the two entered the villa, looking like a loving couple to outsiders.

“The game pod I customized for you has a sleep mode. Also, there’s a big level gap between us, I can’t help you level up. I’ll give you a friend, his name is Killing Commander, you level up with him. After I change my job and create a guild, you should level up quickly with the guild boost.”

“By the way, do you need a bath? The room over there has an automatic bathtub, go take a bath, it’s very comfortable.”

Chu You then returned to his own bedroom and jumped directly into the game.

Even during the day, the grey fog hadn’t lifted much. Chu You raised his head and saw that the cloud obscured sky would occasionally reveal a sliver of true form.

At this moment, Chu You noticed an anomaly on the mountain cliff in front of him. There seemed to be many black objects hanging from it.

Chu You squinted slightly. When the grey fog once again covered this area, he retracted his gaze and immediately headed up the mountain.

After dealing with several level 10 bat cats on his way, Chu You finally appeared at the top of the mountain after taking quite some time. He slowly reached the edge of the cliff and looked down.

He saw many black objects hanging from the vertical cliff about twenty meters away. Those objects were tied to a few bamboo sticks preventing them from falling. There was no place to walk normally.

When Chu You looked carefully, he was startled because those black objects were differently colored coffins!

Coffins on the cliff?

Chu You started thinking. He wasn’t scared by these things, he was just thinking about how to get down.

Apart from the surrounding cliffs behind him, this place was a protruding part of the mountain body. After walking several circles around the mountain top, Chu You found a feasible method.

Chu You was seen holding a withered yellow vine. If one did not look carefully, it would be hard to find. When Chu You’s final foot left the mountain top, he immediately found himself suspended in the air, holding the dried vine with both hands and sliding down.

When a foot stepped on a bamboo factor that was inserted into the mountain body, Chu You let go of the dried vine. Below was a dizzying precipice, anyone who wasn’t careful would fall straight down, and then… respawn back to the starting point.

There were only a few pieces of bamboo that could be used as footholds. Even Chu You had to slow down. Because of Chu You’s weight, the bamboo under his foot was slightly shaking. Chu You carefully walked over them.

Before long, Chu You reached the first coffin. The coffin was entirely black and looked new. Chu You pulled out his weapon, the targeted coffin was now showing its blood volume, and Chu You slashed at it.

In an instant, the coffin lid burst open. A loud scream came from inside, immediately followed by a shadow attacking Chu You.

Holy shit! Is this a zombie?!

Cliff Corpse, Level 10, Normal Monster.

A decayed and terrifying face showed its fangs to Chu You, roaring as its dark, foul-smelling hands aimed directly at Chu You’s neck.

Chu You noticed that the creature had no feet, it was in a floating state.

Chu You flashed a look of determination, a normal monster?

He will just fight head-on then.

Without dodging at all, the two started fighting. The environment here was extremely hazardous. A dark claw swiped at Chu You’s chest, causing a slight trace of blood to appear. Meanwhile, Chu You also landed a slash on the creature.

A regular Level 10 monster was no match for Chu You. Chu You soon killed it.

Upon reaching the open coffin, Chu You found nothing inside, making him feel somewhat annoyed.

Did I go through all this trouble just to find a monster to fight? Did I get that wrong?

Regardless of his thoughts, Chu You believed that since there was such a place, there would definitely be something beneficial for players beyond just monsters to fight.

Maybe there could be treasure chests inside these coffins, who knows?

Soon after, Chu You arrived at the second coffin. The color of this coffin seemed much older than the previous one, showing traces of the passing years.

Chu You didn’t hesitate, made a slash at it, and the coffin lid cracked open.

A gust of gray fog gushed out from inside, followed by two green dots with trailing tails rising up. As if sensing something, they rushed at Chu You and were absorbed by his body in an instant. It was then that a system prompt rang out.

You have absorbed Moon Essence, earning you an additional 5000 experience points!

Finally! That’s more like it, don’t keep me in suspense all the time. Chu You’s worried heart finally settled down.

Soon after, Chu You opened the third coffin, gaining another 5000 experience points.

The further he went, the fewer the bamboo poles sticking out of the cliff, necessitating increased caution. There was even a two-meter gap he had to jump over – the opposite side only had two thin bamboo poles erected without any handrails. If he missed this jump, the result could be lethal.

However, this did not trouble Chu You. Having fallen to his death countless times in his previous life, he was not afraid at all. In fact, it helped him develop a sharp eye, making these situations a piece of cake for him.

Taking a couple of steps back for momentum, Chu You calmly leaped, landing on the bamboo poles. They wobbled slightly beneath his weight, but Chu You remained as steady as glue, without any hint of imbalance.

After uncovering the fourth coffin, more green spots entered Chu You’s body as if joyous, giving him another 5000 experience points.

Chu You saw seven more coffins in the front. He couldn’t help but inwardly rejoice. This place seemed to be set up as a benefit for the boldest players. If all these coffins gave him experience points, he should be getting close to a level up.

Excited as never before, Chu You still paid careful attention to his footing, moving forward cautiously like he was walking on a tightrope.

When he finally reached a wall of the cliff, Chu You let out a breath and without any hesitation opened the nearest coffin. Unfortunately, it contained just a regular zombie.

After dealing with it, Chu You proceeded to open the subsequent coffins. The first two were good, earning him 10,000 experience points. However, an Elite monster popped out of the third coffin.

The monster was a one-star elite, its decomposing skin shimmering with a bluish glow, indicating that it was no ordinary Cliff Corpse.

Chu You didn’t hesitate to use ‘Decapitation.’ Though the monster’s skin wasn’t very tough, it had high attack power. The Elite monster spat out Dark Blood at Chu You, causing him to not only lose health but also slow down his attack speed.

Chu You had to make awkward evasive movements, but it wasn’t entirely effective. However, he managed to block a few attacks from the monster. After his attack speed recovered, Chu You narrowly managed to kill the Elite. Looking at his health which was reduced to a sliver, Chu You crouched down, holding onto a bamboo pole, and began to regenerate health. The terrain here was too dangerous, even the slightest carelessness would result in falling off the cliff.

Eventually, Chu You’s health was fully restored. He moved to the fourth coffin and opened it. Once he saw the green, he let out a sigh of relief, it was an experience point coffin!

The other three coffins were situated above, requiring some climbing. Chu You smirked, his eyes filled with confidence. If this small challenge was enough to defeat him, then his decision to choose Wangshan City as his starting point had been a fatal mistake. With these thoughts in mind, he looked back at the majestic Wangshan Mountain on the horizon, his eyes filled with anticipation.

The majestic Wangshan Mountain was where Chu You would start his journey after switching professions; it was the starting point of his endeavor to dominate the world, eliminating enemies, and conquering the world!

After a short while, Chu You began to climb. His keen sight caught all the traits, and he used his agility to reach the fifth coffin and opened it.

System: +10,000 experience points.

Chu You’s face was excited as he continued to climb up. When he opened the sixth coffin, it contained not only a bonus of 10, 000 experience points but also a viscount-level treasure chest.

As expected, there was a treasure chest. Chu You was not wrong.

He opened it…

: Congratulations! You have obtained Cliff Corpse’s Bracelet, Viscount level, Attack power +15, Hit Rate +8, Critical Hit +10. Wearing this jewelry will give +10 Armor Penetration to the target, requiring Level 10.

: Congratulations! You have obtained ‘Low-level Courage Charm x10’. Use it to improve your attack speed by +5, attack power by +10 for 20 minutes.

: +100 Gold Coins.

Not so bad. Chu You was fairly satisfied with the jewelry gear he received for his close-combat profession. If a skill book came out of the Viscount level treasure chest, it would be the best surprise.

Shortly thereafter, Chu You climbed to the last coffin.

This final coffin had been placed inside a crack in the mountain. The crevice was very narrow; one had to crawl in to open or access it. But as he saw the coffin, Chu You’s face turned stern. The coffin was of a very small size, it looked like it had been designed for a child. It silently lay inside, the paint on it heavily chipped, indicating it had been there for a very long time.

For some reason, the coffin gave Chu You a sense of extreme danger. The more he looked at it, the stronger this feeling became.

If his instincts were right, then this tiny coffin must contain at least a boss-level Elite Zombie, or perhaps even a higher level…

Taking one last look, Chu You decided to step back. He was certain that a powerful Corpse King-level zombie was inside. Even if it was a boss level zombie, he wasn’t yet equipped to handle it. The terrain was too challenging; it was going to give him trouble.

Overall, the rewards from this exploration were quite significant. He was now very close to reaching level 10. Before long, Chu You decided to return the way he came.

Lin Luor entered the final instance. After clearing this solo instance, she would be able to submit her task. She had already received two nightmare-level item tasks, so she chose nightmare-level for this solo instance.

This instance seemed to test a player’s mental endurance. A terrifying instance…

Thinking about how much Chu You relied on her, Lin Luor’s spirit was ignited. Even though she was a novice, she decided to give it a try.

Chu You… seemed to harbor deep secrets about her. Why did he choose her? People aren’t fools. Chu You didn’t say, and Lin Luor didn’t ask. But this riddle was one she couldn’t bypass. The answer to the blank question in her heart could only be filled by Chu You. Perhaps only when she was truly ‘eligible’, would the answer emerge?

A female ghost suddenly attacked Lin Luor from the side, but she didn’t react. Lin Luor was lost in thought. Fortunately, the ghost couldn’t cause any real damage and disappeared after passing through Lin Luor’s body.

A message alert rang out, snapping Lin Luor back to reality. She discovered it was a friend request from a stranger.

Player Zhao Feiyan requests to add you as a friend. Do you accept?

Who is this? Lin Luor squinted slightly.
