Feng Jiu's heart beat faster and faster. She tried to open the refrigerator to see if he could squeeze himself inside.

'Nope. Too small. Can't fit in.'

In a blink of an eye, she already opened all the cabinets in the kitchen, but she still couldn't find a place for him to hide himself. The man was just looking at her, enjoying her panicked state. She resembled a little puppy jumping and running around, looking all flustered.

"Ah Jiu? Ah Jiu?? Yeye is here to see you! This child... is she still asleep?"

She could hear her grandfather murmured to himself while opening the door. Feng Jiu saw her grandfather entered the threshold. She kept on looking everywhere until she noticed the long table at the center of the kitchen. Suddenly, an idea struck her head, making her eyes shine with delight. Without any second thought, she grabbed the man's hand and dragged him towards the table. Feng Jiu tried to push him under the table like she was hiding a dirty laundry under her bed.

"No matter what happens, do not say anything!! You must not produce any noise, do you understand??"

"I don't want to hide. Why must I hide?" The man sulkily said.

Feng Jiu felt like all her veins were starting to burst due to anger. She wanted to flip the table and scream to the heavens. With her teeth clenched, she said, "You. Will. Hide. Or. Else. I. Will. Castrate. You." and she shove him under the table heartlessly.

"Ah Jiu? What are you doing over there?"

"Enn.. Yeye, you're here.." Feng Jiu immediately composed herself as if nothing is wrong.

Her grandfather went towards the kitchen but Feng Jiu immediately obstructed his path.

"Yeye, let's-- let's sit on the sofa. You're not young anymore. You must sit if you feel tired." Feng Jiu tactfully assisted him on walking towards the receiving area. After sitting, her grandfather grabbed both of her hands.

"Ah Jiu.. are you mad at Yeye? Yeye is only thinking of you.. Can you forgive Yeye? Yeye only wants the best for Yeye's beloved granddaughter so Yeye wants you to marry the best man Yeye can find."

Feng Jiu opened her mouth to speak but before she could respond, the chair under the table suddenly moved, making a screeching sound. Feng Jiu paled and could not help but glance at the long table across the counter.

'G'ddammit!! This man really wants to be beaten to death!'

"What's---"

"Ah. Maybe that's a stray cat."

Feng Jiu immediately regretted what she said. She wanted to smack herself for being silly.

'A cat? Seriously? That's the most generic and lamest excuse ever.'

"A stray cat can enter here?" Xuan Tian got puzzled. His eyes stared at the table in the kitchen.

"Mmm. I sometimes forget to close my windows, so a cat often plays here." Feng Jiu secretly wiped her sweat. She inwardly congratulated herself for being able to spout plausible nonsense.

"Oh. Is that so? But you better lock your doors! There are so many devious people nowadays. You better be careful and avoid those kinds of scum. They might try to trick and extort you."

Feng Jiu wanted to cry but had no tears to shed. 'I've already encountered one, grandpa.' *sob*

Although on the verge of despair, Feng Jiu still managed to pull an 'indifferent look', as if nothing bothered her. Now that they had already reconciled with each other, Xuan Tian tried to toss a stone, trying to find out what was ahead[1].

"Ah Jiu, yesterday, Yeye was not angry at you. Yeye was just... very anxious. You are not getting any younger anymore. It's time to have a family of your own-- to bear with little children. Yeye wants you to be happy that's why Yeye said those words yesterday.. About your marriage-----"

Again, the chair under the table moved, making a loud noise. All of Feng Jiu's hair rose up like she was electrocuted. She wanted to run towards the table where the man hid himself and beat him senseless.

"I better check the kitty."

As fast as the wind, she immediately reached the kitchen. She could see her grandfather looking at her across the counter. She immediately stared below and saw the man squatting beneath the table. She glared at him and mouthed, 'Behave!' before she looked at her grandfather and said, "It's the cat. It's playing under the table."

"Just leave it alone. The cat might scratch you."

Feng Jiu remained standing beside the table in the kitchen as her grandfather continued rambling nonsense. Once again, he told her about how anxious he was or how good it would be if there were little Feng Jius running around them. Feng Jiu was not able to hear everything her grandfather said because she was distracted by the man's hand that kept on touching her thighs. When she couldn't tolerate it anymore, she was not able to hold back and shouted, "ENOUGH!!!"

Her grandfather abruptly stopped talking. All of the words he wanted to say was drowned in his throat, making him unable to speak, thinking that his granddaughter wanted him to shut up.

Feng Jiu realized her error and tried to find excuses. "Ehrm.. enough. Yes! Enough with our chitchat for now. You must be hungry, Yeye. I want to apologize to you, so I cook food for the both of us. I wanted to call you and invite you here but alas, you're already here. HA-HA-HA. What a coincidence." Feng Jiu sounded so awkward, but she tried her best to look normal.

Feng Jiu's brows wrinkled and pinched the hand that was touching her thighs. She secretly signaled the man to behave. After she discreetly slapped his dirty little hands, she immediately went to her grandfather. "Come, Yeye let's eat." She tried her best to stay calm, helping him to stand up from sitting.

Feng Jiu regretted everything. She regretted trying to experience the life she yearned for. She regretted shedding her camouflage and enjoying the bustling night outside her safe zone in exchange for experiencing this kind of torturous event. It was utterly moronic of her to think that everything was fine after being schemed inside her house.

She was very stupid to fall from that man's devious plan. She had a high IQ but she was not properly using her brain. She felt like she was just running into circles like a little pet.

Since young, she already had a great control with her emotions, and she was always a level-headed person. But being with him, speaking with him--- just a little 'teasing' coming from that shameless man made her blush in crimson.

She couldn't help but be embarrassed, be angry, be shy-- be herself when he was teasing her. It made her think that she might be under his spell. She was a woman with great responsibility in her shoulders. She couldn't act without thinking the consequences of her behavior. So, she was very adept on controlling everything to its perfection. Unfortunately, she suddenly encountered something different--- something weird.

Among all the things she was sure of, he was the only one she couldn't read. His words, his actions are very different, and it was impossible for her to guess his next move, making her defenseless and unable to protect herself from his advances.

'What is his agenda? He doesn't seem to care about money. Why is he pestering me like this? What's his true intention? He is a NEET with no food to eat and no house to stay.. but.. why me? I allow him to stay here, giving him food and shelter, supporting him. Isn't that what you call a Patron[2]?'

Feng Jiu was inwardly shocked of what she thought.

Is she... His Sugar Mommy?!
