The car arrived at the same time as some students. They were dressed up in white and light blue uniforms. White long sleeved shirts with blue bows around the neck for the girls, and similar white shirts for the boys but with ties. Some students had blue sweater vests on while others had blue coats.

Some moved in groups of two, three or four, talking and laughing while others run ahead on their own. A few walked slowly, dragging their legs sluggishly as if they were already tired.

Alix watched them all with an excited glint in her eyes. One, they reminded her of her happier youthful days as a high school student and two, they just looked adorable in their uniforms.

Fuwen academy was a private school and the former owner had really put a lot of thought into the uniforms of the students. The quality and colors were really amazing.

On reaching the gates, there was a bit of delay because some students were dropped off by parents or drivers. The school, had some students from well off families. According to research made by the system some of them were lazy children, and academically not the best performers.

It was an arts school so most of them wanted to be singers, dancers, actors, actresses, sportsmen and women and many other occupations, all arts related. These children would not be in Fuwen ideally. It was among the worst performing schools nation wide.

"Madam, in order to avoid such unnecessary delays, we should get rid of and replace the guards at the gate with one of own people." Bi Cang, her bodyguard suggested.

"Aw, Bi Cang, you want me to fire a person as soon as I come in." She responded in surprise.

Bi Cang, without a thought , nodded. "You will be spending all your time at work here so we need to amp up security. Mr. Mo has already compiled a list of talented guards to take charge here. Your security is important to the Zhang family, especially the young master."

So, was this Caishen’s idea? she asked herself. It was a good idea to protect herself and the school though. On one side was Caishen’s murderous brother and on the other, her lunatic family. The school had to be guarded well indeed and it was better for trusted people to do it.

"Tell Mr. Mo to do as he sees fit but don’t fire the old guards without cause. They can be reassigned if they are not good at their jobs." she suggested.

Bi Cang smiled. His job was really the best of all the guards in the family. His boss was kind, polite and she listened to his suggestions and she never put herself in unnecessary danger. There was never any drama with the young madam. He once served on Zhang An’s security team and it was a nightmare.

His mind apparently failed to recall the two times she had punched people and sent them to a hospital.

They arrived at the front of the white gates and uncle Ju lowered the window on his side of the car.

"Good morning." he greeted.

The guard, with a polite smile on his face responded. "Good morning, please drop off the child here, cars are not allowed inside beyond this point."

"Oh, this is not a student. It’s your new school director." Uncle Ju answered.

"Open the gates for the young madam." Bi Cang added, more forceful that uncle Ju.

"Welcome director." The guard loudly said. He didn’t even take a look at Alix’s face as he rushed off and opened the gate immediately.

"Director." Alix whispered under her breath. So, she had an official title already. It sounded nice to her ears, very pleasant. "I like it." She whispered to herself.

As the car headed inside, one of the students, a boy that was walking with three of his friends stopped and stared in a daze.

"Hey, what’s wrong with you?" One of the other boys asked him.

"That car." he answered. "Shit, that’s Rolls-Royce. You guys, that’s a Roll-Royce."

One of the others sneered at the boy who spoke and told him with doubt and a little disdain. "Crazy, even though some people here come from families with a bit of money nobody has a parent that drives a Rolls-Royce."

The boy whose words were doubted was called Lie Jie. His father was a manager in one of the most successful car dealerships in the city. Lie Jie knew cars, and he knew every Rolls-Royce model because it was his dream car. Even though the others doubted, he remained sure of what he had seen. He was determined to get a closer look at the car.

He rushed past his friends yelling at the top of his lungs, "I will see you guys in class."

He run past a teacher that a teacher that complained about his untucked shirt and almost knocked over another student. By the time he arrived in front of the main building, the occupants of the car were gone. So, he snapped a picture of the car and shared it with his friends. It was proof that he was right and it was a Rolls-Royce.

Within one minute, the entire school was buzzing with gossip started on the school forum that a new super rich student was joining them.

"Friend, I mean director." Jin Kang waved at Alix as as soon as she stepped inside the main building. It had offices on the ground floor and classes above on the other four floors.

Alix, the presumed new student waved back and walked over to her friend that was coming out of one of the offices. "When did you arrive?"

Jin Knag shook a stack of binders which she was carrying in her arms and told her, "At five in the morning. We are moving to a new place, there are a lot of things to handle. As your new self appointed P.A, I must be here in time to handle them all for you madam director."

"P.A!!" Alix exclaimed.

"Yes," Jin Kang wiggled her eyebrows hopefully.

"No." Alix rejected her. "You just want to gossip, no thank you. You are my secretary, manager and music school co-director. You have three jobs already, first manage them."

"Eh, but how will you run the school alone?" Jin Kang asked her.

She knew that Alix would not have time to spare to cater to the day to day needs of the students. She was determined to build a great music school. But, Jin Kang also assumed they would be taking charge of the high school.

Alix then told her, "The old vice principal is staying on and so is most of the staff. They will be vetted of course and I will provide all the financial resources required to make the Fuwen academy one of the greatest private schools in the country but I am busy. I cannot dedicate enough time to the school. Jin Kang, I need you with me to grow song bird music academy. Don’t become wrapped up in other things and lose sight of our initial goal."

Jin Kang looked at the binders in her hands. They were each labeled with a marker. Alix had already read the wording written on them like teacher assessments, students mid term assessment, financial statements, classroom data, lesson plans. Each binder was marked for October 2024.

"Should I return these?" She asked Alix.

Alix looked at the binders and sighed. She did not have the first clue on how a high school was run, but she would learn. First things though, she wanted a tour of the school and then the work would begin.
