The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 208: Don’t be afraid.
Alix's mind came to the realization that grandma Zhang didn't really say anything and she had rushed to her own conclusion.

"Nothing." she quickly denied. Her voice was squeaky and sharp.
It was easy for him to tell that she was lying but he decided not to push. Knowing his grandmother, it was probably related to the status of their relationship. So, he took a detour and moved on to something else.
"Do I frighten you?"
The door slid open and a woman in a chef's uniform entered. She was followed by Mo Sen that kept an eye on her every move like a hawk.
Alix meanwhile was quite perplexed by the question which had been posed to her and she had no qualms in saying so. "I am not sure that I understand. In what way would you frighten me."
Caishen tapped the middle finger of his right hand against the table slowly. His lips remained sealed and he watched her with an unreadable expression. It made Alix if she had perhaps missed something.
"You didn't tell me about an important thing that concerns you and discussed it with another man. Your skin care company plan for example, I had no idea that that line of business was something you happened to be interested in."
"Oooh, it's something in the works that's not even off the ground yet. It's in my mind for now. I am the only one using my own face cream. It's not a big deal at all." She laughed and waved her hand upwards, gesturing that the matter was quite easy and not as deep as he thought.
He picked the glass of red wine and swirled it around slowly with his right hand. It seemed as if he was going to take a sip but he put it down. His eyes were lowered now, so she couldn't tell what he was thinking.
"This matter may seem simple to you but i find it quite irritating to hear about the plans you have made for your future at the same time as another man. You have told me that I am special to you so many times that I have come to believe it. I want to know everything about you before others." He admitted.
Caishen had come to liken himself to a child that had been told so many times by his mother that he was the best at everything so the child's confidence grew and that belief cemented itself within his heart and mind.
Alix side eyed the chef and wondered if this conversation should be taking place in the presence of the stranger or Mo Sen.
"I may not have known you for as long as that friend of yours has but I would like to believe that we are now getting to know each other. So, if you are afraid of me somehow I hope that the feeling will dissipate as soon as possible."
The chef approached the table. placed two plates down and then stepped out.
"I am not afraid of you." Alix blurted out and shook her head.
She had been waiting for the chef and Mo Sen to step out and then she would say something.
"You can ask me anything hubby, I will tell you. And, you are very special to me, for real." she added.
He extended his hand forward and picked up the chopsticks which were on her side. He was using a white cloth to avoid direct contact with them.
"Eat. You came directly from the school so you have not eaten yet I am sure. We can talk slowly as we eat." he told her.
She accepted the chopsticks and looked at her plate. There was a variety of foods waiting to be eaten but all the chef had served was thin slices of rolled beef sitting on a bed of mixed vegetables.
Her eyes could not help sneaking peeks at the the rest of the food which had not been served.
Caishen laughed at her. "Go. It's just us two here so you don't need to be act reserved. Help yourself to everything you want. It's why I ordered it in the first place.
It's my small way of thanking you for everything you have been doing for my grandmother and the rest of the family lately."
It was not the only gift he had prepared of course but it was a start.
As he thought about the other gift which she would definitely love, she was already helping herself to more food, starting with the popcorn chicken and dipping sauce. She got rid of all the green vegetables on her plate and replaced them with other things like fried rice, meat skewers and grilled eel.
When she sat down this time round, it was with a smile on her face.
"Are you sure you can finish all that?" He looked at her plate with some doubt. Sure, she was a big eater but she had gone for variety this time round, picking something from everything, with the exception of the vegetables.
She nodded confidently.
"I could eat ten whole plates like this and walk out of here very normal. She had a system that kept her health in top shape.
"I didn't tell you to turn your body into a dumpster." The blue elf commented.
She ignored it and started her meal with the popcorn chicken. She thought about the desert which she had yet to set her eyes on. She was sure that there would be desert. All day, she had not tasted anything sweet.
"So, that friend of yours. Were you close in school?" He asked.
"Very little. He was as cu....I mean, his looks were very eye catching so he was popular. Me, Holea and Jin Kang all knew him. I am only interested in him business wise hubby, nothing else." She explained. "I want to recommend him to my brother as a model for the TFK winter jewelry line and that's because he is a model."
It somewhat put Caishen at ease to know that her two friends knew him as well which meant that it was a group friendship. But then, it made him realize that he had not met her friends but she had met his. It was time to remedy that surely.
"You said that you are recording your five minute video for that violin competition tomorrow, right?" he asked.
She nodded. "The first round is a video application, second round you play in front of a panel of judges and in the final round ten competitors play for an audience and the judges."
He listened attentively, looking at her intensely as she explained. "What time will you be recording it?"
"Before or after lunch, at the school. I want to use the background of the pond and the trees. I figure pleasing aesthetics might score me some bonus points." she told him.
"Will your friends be there?" he asked her.
"Mmm, and some of my brothers." she answered.
"Then I will be there too." he said.
She was in the process of sending grilled eel to her mouth when he practically declared his intentions.
"You want to come." she said, surprised.
"You seem surprised." he laughed. "Can I join you?"
She didn't know why he wanted to go with her but she didn't intend to stop him if he wanted to do so. She shrugged and approved his request.
Satisfied with her answer, he moved on to something else. "What gifts should I give your friends? It will be our first time meeting."
"Gifts!" she exclaimed. Did they need gifts, she wondered.
