The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 314: Jing Hee’s plan B.
Angry could not begin to describe what Lin Billi was feeling as she looked at pictures of Alix meeting all sorts of dignitaries that she could only dream of meeting in her dreams.
Since her arms had become useless, her manager was the one holding the phone in front of her eyes and showing her the pictures.
Every vein in Lin Billi’s body was exploding with anger. She couldn’t stand to watch it anymore, not when she was stuck in the hospital with useless hands.
It was Alix that was supposed to be here, crying her out out without any hands, not her. She was Lin Billi, the genius classical pianist. She was one of the most beautiful and desirable women in the country. She deserved to be at a function like that one.
Lin Billi had forgotten in all her irrationality that she had once had the opportunity to marry Zhang Caishen but she rejected it simply because he was paraplegic.
"It is supposed to be mine, all of that is supposed to be mine." Billi whispered brokenly and tears slid down from her eyes.
The door slid open and Jing Hee entered the room. She was not very shocked to find her daughter crying because she had been doing this since the previous night. What ticked her off was the manager who was showing her pictures of Caishen and Alix having a good time.
She jumped like a frog and slapped the phone out of the manager’s hands. It landed on the floor with a cracking noise. "Are you stupid? Is this how you do your job as a manager. Instead of consoling her and running around to re-arrange her schedule you are showing her images of that bitch."
"She instructed me to do this madam." The manager a usually docile man who didn’t talk back to Jing Hee or Billi as they often threatened to ruin him in the entertainment circles replied softly.
"Do you have to do everything that she says?" Jing Hee shouted at him. "Get out and come back here when you have her new schedule."
The manager looked at Billi’s arms and he wondered how she would be able to play a piano with hands that were practically boneless. Also, why was Jing Hee asking him why he did everything Billi wanted when she was the same person that instructed him to do so?
He cursed his bad luck for ending up as Billi’s manager. On top of handling Billi whose level of self importance was at a maximum, he had to deal with her ill mannered mother. Lately, it had been one trouble after the other. Her reputation was already tanking and now her hands were useless. At this rate, the company would let her go.
"Get out," Jing Hee shouted at him again.
Angry as he was, he stormed out of the hospital room vowing not to return for the next few days. He would even switch off his phone and go on a holiday. It would be better than returning to receive verbal and occasional physical abuse with a dash of daily humiliation at the age of thirty nine.
Alone in private, Billi’s cries became louder and more pitiful.
"Mother, how could you let that bitch marry my husband?"
Jing Hee was stunned. Which husband was Lin Billi talking about?
"Daughter, are you feeling fine? Why are you talking nonsense?" She put a hand on her forehead and asked, extremely confused.
Lin Billi opened her mouth and screamed at her mother, "Zhang Caishen, he was supposed to be mine. I should be the one attending high profile events and meeting important people, not Alix."
Jing Hee sneered and pulled Billi’s head back by grabbing onto her hair. She couldn’t help wondering if Billi had been injured more than she appeared to be. She seemed to have lost her mind completely.
"Billi, i would like to think that the medicine is the cause of all this crazy talk. When did you start dreaming of marrying a crippled man? Besides, wasn’t it you that cried and begged us not to marry you off to him so i came up with a plan to force Alix into the marriage in your place?"
She looked at her daughter with steely eyes which held no mercy and she said, "Billi, get your head on straight. Look around and ask yourself where your grandmother and aunt are. Even your father is not here by your side when you are in pain. In the past, they would all gather around you and make a fuss but now that your father has a bastard son, they hardly care."
Lin Billi’s face turned twisted and ugly the more her mother talked.
"If you become blind and weak, we will lose everything. You said that you would find a better man than Zhang Caishen but you haven’t done that yet. You haven’t composed any good music and you haven’t landed any sensible roles on variety shows. In the meantime, Alix has gained a foot in the Zhang family, she is grooming that bastard to take the things which belong to us and she is gaining fame slowly and steadily. Wake up and come back to your senses."
She let go of Billi’s hair and walked to her bag which was sitting in an empty chair. Below the bag was a folder that she retrieved and sat down on the bed. freewёbnoνel.com
"I have been thinking that we should start preparing a plan B in case your career as a pianist starts to dwindle. You are already growing older and your reputation has taken too many hits lately.
On top of that, we don’t have the unconditional support of your father. It will be better to find new backing quickly.
I know a matchmaker that works for the rich families and elite individuals. She had provided me with a list of eligible men that can try to match up to Caishen. Let’s go through them together and in no time at all, you will be attending high profile events too."
Lin Billi shriveled as soon as she set her eyes on the very first profile which her mother shared.
"CEO Ming Le Yang!" she exclaimed. "Mother, he is fifteen years older than me and he has been divorced three times already. He has children that are almost my age. How can you introduce such a man to me?"
"He is the CEO of a company worth two billion and he is richer than our Lin family two times over. If you want to beat Alix, you must be willing to do whatever it takes. Her husband is in a wheelchair, Ming Le Yang may be older but he is a full bodied man." Jing Hee flipped to the next page and continued on to another potential husband for her daughter.
Sacrifices had to be made to get ahead in life, this was the greatest lesson she had taught her daughter and would continue teaching her.
