These Dangerous Girls Placed Me Into Jeopardy-Chapter 1Vol 3. : When I Was Discharged From the Hospital, My Girlfriend Came to Pick Me Up
Lillian said she'd been waiting forever for this day.
Thinking back, she’d been muttering things like “Just a little longer...” since half a month ago. At the time, I had no idea what she was referring to. Turns out, she meant my discharge from the hospital.
But truthfully, I got out way earlier than expected. The doctor said my injuries would take three full months to recover, and I should be bedridden the whole time. But here I was—barely one month later—almost completely healed.
So I just randomly picked a day, didn’t tell anyone, and slipped out of the hospital on my own.
How did Lillian know I was getting out early?
When I asked her that, her answer was unexpected... but also made perfect sense:
“Shirley told me.”
Figures. That omnipotent Shirley really does know everything, huh...
As I walked out of the hospital with Lillian, I looked back at the inpatient wing of Harusame Hospital, where I’d spent the past month, and—surprisingly—felt a bit reluctant to leave.
“Honestly, if I could, I’d want to live here forever.”
“Oh? So you want to spend eternity surrounded by cute nurse onee-sans? I guess someone needs to be punished, hmm? Hehehe~”
“Uh, no, wait, that’s not what I meant—”
She yanked my face sideways, hard. I was drooling by the time she let go.
In fact, I think some of it landed on her fingers.
But Lillian didn’t care. She casually licked her thumb, sucking up the spit like it was nothing.
If it were the old me, I probably would’ve turned bright red, not even knowing how to react.
But now? I didn’t even flinch at that kind of thing anymore.
Why? Because while I was hospitalized, Lillian took complete advantage of my immobility and cared for me as if she were my girlfriend—no, even more attentively than the nurses.
Feeding me, changing my clothes, helping me go to the bathroom...
Yeah. Even if I tried to say no, she forced me to let her.
She’s seen everything. Shame? What’s that?
In short, after all that time together, our relationship had clearly evolved to the next level.
Every time she helped wipe me down, I couldn’t help but think—this isn’t what a girlfriend’s supposed to do. This is what a wife does.
And yet she was a rich girl from a well-off family. Willingly doing all this for me... my impression of her just skyrocketed.
“What is it? Giving me that weird look. Don’t tell me you’re thinking something pervy? Hehehe~”
“Not at all. That’s the look of deep gratitude, thank you very much. No, seriously. I really appreciate everything you’ve done.”
Last time I got injured, Lillian had Shirley take care of me. But this time, she came herself. Did that mean she saw me as more important now?
...Let’s not overthink it. Girls’ hearts are a mystery.
“This is what I should be doing. I want to take care of you, Ethan~ Saying stuff like that... I bet your affection score just went up, didn’t it? Hehehe~”
“Nah, it’s already maxed out. My affection for you is maxed, Lillian. So how about entering my H-scene now?”
“Ara ara~ Is that an invitation for me to murder you? Because for me, that would be the perfect good ending, you know?”
Ah. Right. I almost forgot.
Now that I think about it, I was starting to get too comfortable. But yeah—she’s still that Lillian. Just... sneakier about it now.
I may have fallen right into the jaws of a man-eating demoness.
If I ever reach the point where I genuinely think, “It’d be worth it to die at her hands,” then that’s probably when I die.
But for now, while I can still resist the allure of death by yandere, I’ll decline politely... I still want to live a bit longer.
“Okay then~ How about I wait until after we do it to strangle you to death?”
“Wow. That’d be a literal climax to the afterlife. But dying after just one go? That’s way too steep. Can we negotiate a few extra rounds?”
Uh, just to be clear—I didn’t mean choking as part of the play, alright?
“Hehehe~ You’re so greedy~”
“All men are.”
We’d skipped the whole “friendship” phase and went straight ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) to being boyfriend and girlfriend. What started as a superficial relationship had become... hard to tell what was real and what wasn’t.
But we weren’t like those overly lovey-dovey new couples, either. It felt more like an old married couple—relaxed and used to each other.
Honestly? Having a girl like this... what more could I want?
“But hey, at least we don’t have to see that poker-faced annoyance today. Getting first-hand intel really is everything. Hehehe~”
Snowy was discharged way before me. Around the fifth day, actually. Her recovery speed was freakish—honestly way beyond what’s humanly possible.
But even after getting out, she kept coming back to my room. She even skipped class just to hang around.
All three desks in our class’s corner were empty for a while. Poor Ms. Jane probably cried in frustration...
Still, Snowy wasn’t like Lillian. She didn’t take care of me. She just sat quietly beside me, and completely ignored all of Lillian’s sarcasm.
Which meant Lillian couldn’t really deal with her, either. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Also, unlike Lillian, Snowy was clingy as hell. She never left my side. Even at night, she stayed over. Took advantage of her petite frame to slip into my bed, curl up in the crook of my arm, and... secretly lick me.
That’s probably why my wounds healed so fast. From all that “regular medicine changing.”
...This is absolutely something I can never tell Lillian. Not that she doesn’t already suspect, probably...
During my stay, Leon and Lan Hua came to visit, too. Lan Hua sent me weird messages practically every day. I’d really rather not remember the details. Maybe I’ll talk about that some other time.
Class rep Lyna even came with Ms. Jane to visit me on behalf of the class, brought a gift basket, and asked a few polite questions.
Lily also dropped by four or five times, though she never stayed long.
Lillian gave me this look like, “Didn’t peg you for someone who’s not part of the Pretty Face Fan Club.” If she ever saw Lily’s true form, would she despise me for that?
I glanced to the side at Lillian. She also turned her head and looked at me. Our eyes met.
“So? You heading straight home now, Ethan?”
“...Yeah. Gotta drop this stuff off first.”
Hospital clothes, toiletries, all that crap. Kinda hard to go anywhere with this load.
It was Saturday, too. Serena and Cora—my sisters—would probably visit me this morning. Better to head home first while they’re still on the way.
Oh, right—Lillian hasn’t met my sisters yet. They’re usually busy with school and only free after 5 PM.
She seems to understand that now’s not the time for a family meeting.
Honestly, I’m super thankful she’s kept her distance.
Back in the day, I would’ve proudly introduced my cute sisters to anyone. But now? The thought alone gives me stomach cramps.

Not to mention... Serena might accept her, but Cora’s got a full-blown rivalry going on. I’m terrified they’ll fight, and if they piss off my scary girlfriend...
I wouldn’t put it past Lillian to hurt them.
Worst case—they hurt each other. God, I hope that day never comes...
“Hehehe~ I was hoping we could go on a date today... but I guess I’ll have to pick another day.”
“A date, huh...”
Dates cost money.
Last time, Lillian paid for almost everything. As a guy, that hurt my pride.
I know she doesn’t care about the money, but still.
What I’m supposed to pay for, I should pay for.
Only... I’m broke.
Asking my parents for more money just to take my girlfriend out again... ehh. I already begged them for cash to get her a birthday present. Asking again would just be shameful.
So what now?
Part-time job?
I’ve got those signed excuse slips Lily gave me, so I can skip evening classes. Might as well use that time to find something that pays.
“What’s wrong, Ethan? You look like you’re thinking hard.”
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just... maybe I should get a job or something. I blew all my savings buying you that gift.”
Lillian was still wearing the magatama I gave her. She treasured it, which made me relieved and happy.
As long as she kept wearing that, no ghosts could possess her again.
God, I never want to go through that nightmare again...
“I think... I should be the one paying for our next date.”
Lillian suddenly grinned, reached into her collar, and fished the magatama out from the deep valley of her chest.
Just looking at it, I could tell it must’ve been warm. I mean... considering where she kept it.
“Hehehe~ I’d be totally happy to lend you money, you know? I’d give you as much as you want—and I wouldn’t even charge interest~”
“Ugh, stop tempting me. I’m weak to temptation...”
In every possible way.
“What if you end up owing me for the rest of your life?”
Crap, I can’t look away from her chest...
“Hehehe~ Then just repay me with your body, Ethan.”
She gave me a teasing smile and even squeezed her cleavage together, perfectly matching my line of sight.
This damn succubus.
I gulped and muttered:
“...Yeah, I think I’ll go get a part-time job. And this time, I’ll pick the date and the route. How’s that?”
“Hmph. I guess I’ll be patient... just this once. I’ve got something to do today, so I’ll head back for now. But Ethan, I’ll be looking forward to our next outing~”
“You’re piling on the pressure here... Hope I can live up to your noble-lady expectations.”
“As long as I’m with you, Ethan, I’ll be happy no matter where we go~ ...Now that’s a reply that raises your affection score, right?”
“It would’ve been, if you didn’t say the second half.”
“But I meant it from the heart, you know?”
“I know, I know.”
“Hehehe... then I’ll see you tomorrow, Ethan.”
“Yeah. See you tomorrow...”
To be honest, I’d noticed earlier—her family car and Shirley were waiting nearby. She probably had something planned for today.
But she still made time just to come pick me up.
...Kinda touched me.
I waved goodbye. In the distance, Shirley smiled and gave me a bow.
After watching Lillian leave, I started walking again.
First stop: home. I’ll drop off my stuff—then time to look for a part-time job...
...
Someone was standing near the corner, beside the telephone pole. She tilted her head slightly, looking this way.
After thinking for a second, I walked toward her.
She stepped out from behind the pole.
With her hands folded in front of her, she bowed respectfully.
“Ethan.”
It was Rainie Bai.
