Transmigrated as an Extra: Awakening of The Ex‐Class'-Chapter 45 : Aliana Celta
Chapter 45: Chapter 45 : Aliana Celta
«Aliana’s perspective» (⊃。•́3•̀。)⊃ ...♡
From a distance, I could see Cyan happily chatting with a red-haired girl. Maybe she’s a classmate, I told myself, trying to suppress the strange feeling that was oppressing my chest. Shortly after, a blond boy joined them. His haughty walk and the extravagant clothes he wore left no doubt: he was a noble. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but I clearly saw when the red-haired girl gave him the middle finger, and he, visibly upset, left slamming the door.
Cyan stayed talking calmly with that girl, and the feeling in my chest grew stronger as the minutes passed, but strangely I couldn’t stop looking at them. What was that? A knot in my stomach, a strange burning. Maybe I should ask a healer to check me when the party was over. I didn’t understand why something so simple was affecting me this way.
Without thinking much more, I began to walk towards them quickly, my mind focused on what I had to do: talk to Cyan. It wasn’t an excuse, it was real, I had already said that I would introduce him to the princess and this was the perfect moment. I approached with a confident step, trying not to think too much about what I felt.
"Cyan, can we talk?" I said with a firm voice, trying to excuse myself, but the feeling in my chest made my heart beat faster, my gaze soon fell on his figure. "He looked more charming than ever, as if the light of the party enveloped him in a special way, his eyes shining with a subtlety were charming."
’Wait... what am I thinking!’
Before he could answer, the red-haired girl, who was still at his side, spoke.
"Sister!" she said in surprise, looking at me, her eyes reflecting some bewilderment.
I stood still for a moment, confused. Sister? I looked at the girl again, her hair red as fire and an arrogant look, her pupils so dark that they seem to reflect the flames that rose on the horizon, soon my mind managed to assimilate the connection.
"Amelia?" I asked, now even more bewildered. The strange girl who kept talking to Cyan was Amelia, I didn’t know that Cyan had a connection with the Harts.
"You two met?" Amelia said, surprised by my reaction to calling him.
"Ah... yes, well... I didn’t think that you knew him too. I knew that he was in the same school, because of his bracelet, but... I didn’t think that you... talked to him," I said looking at Cyan, then looking at her again, trying to understand what kind of relationship these two had.
I felt somewhat embarrassed, what I was doing was not right, but frankly at this moment I was not thinking clearly.
—Well, if you’ll excuse me, Amelia, I have some business to settle with your partner, — I said looking at Cyan trying to divert attention.
Amelia stared at me, her red eyes fixed on mine. For a long second, she didn’t look away, and I wasn’t willing to give in either. Her eyes looked a little frustrated and although I didn’t know for sure: a subtle feeling of bitterness was beginning to lodge itself in my heart, a mix between frustration and something deeper.
The tension in the air was palpable, the guests who had begun to notice from time to time cast furtive glances towards this place, only Cyan, completely oblivious to everything, didn’t even notice what was happening.
—Ah, yes... of course, what is it that you had to tell me — Cyan interrupted, his voice so calm and carefree as if he didn’t notice the silent battle that was taking place in front of him.
—It’s something private, as I mentioned before —I answered, smiling shyly, while my hand unconsciously slides to my hair, caressing the lock that had escaped from my hairstyle. freёnovelkiss.com
The air around us was warming, the atmosphere was becoming tense. Amelia’s gaze, so intense and challenging, pierced me like a dagger, but she was a good enough person to give in.
—Are you going to take Cyan? So easy? —Her tone was polite, but in her words there was a slight hint of envy that went straight to me. I couldn’t believe how discarded I was, it was as if I was willing to compete for him, to fight for something that maybe didn’t even belong to him. "Cyan is mine! We already signed a contract" I said to myself trying to ease the pounding in my heart that was getting stronger.
—Cyan... —I murmured, with a voice that came out sweeter than I had imagined. He didn’t seem to care about the tension between us, instead he just watched us with his usual expression, lost among the words he couldn’t understand.
Amelia frowned, and her gaze darkened even more.
I didn’t waste this opportunity. With quick, fluid movements, I hooked Cyan’s arm and, without giving myself time to regret it, I dragged him towards one of the private rooms.
As I walked away, my eyes fixed for the last time on Amelia’s face, whose resentful expression did not go unnoticed. I felt a mixture of triumph and uncertainty run through me at the same time, as if I had made an irrevocable decision. My chest was pounding and for a moment, I didn’t know if I had done the right thing or if I had simply let myself be carried away by the emotion of the moment. But the truth was that I could no longer turn back. The choice was made, and although my thoughts were getting tangled up, I was more and more certain.
Suddenly, Amelia’s voice reached me, low, laden with a hint of helplessness that stopped me for a few brief moments.
"Wait..." her words floated in the air, so soft, but with a force that ran through me like a shiver. There was something in her tone that shook me strongly, perhaps, hidden in her words, a hint of sadness peeked out, something that not even she could hide.
