Chapter 420 - Shu Yan decided to visit Hu Ruixue early this year. (2)

The matters at the office had come to an end but the two children were about to start their vacations and Shu Yan needed to go to parent-teacher conference. Tianbao’s end was easier. As much as it was a kindergarten for elites, but kids that age, it was still mostly fun and games. JingJing had to work harder. She had attended after-school programs trying to catch up with her classmates when she started school at No. 2 grade school but she was still behind a lot of her classmates after she had transferred to the new school.

All the kids here were from well-off families and had been groomed since childhood. Needless to say, their grades were good and they were also very multi-talented. The girl that sat next to JingJing was already level 10 in her piano. Shu Yan worried that JingJing would feel bad about that and had spent a lot of time talking it out with her.

JingJing had been taking dance and language classes. She was only taking English classes in the past but, after she had transferred to Nanshan Grade School, her teacher had advised her to pick up French as well. Shu Yan had already told JingJing that she did not need to if she didn’t want to. A person only has so much energy, Shu Yan didn’t think that JingJing needed to push herself too hard. As it turned out, JingJing quite enjoyed it herself.

After an entire semester and through hard work, JingJing’s grades was already in the top 20 within her class. Their class had a total of 30 or so student and Shu Yan was quite happy with that already. Truth be told, the top 10 students almost had full marks and the only difference were fraction of one point to one point. Most importantly, the examinations at Nanshan Grade School were truly difficult. Shu Yan had glanced over at it when she was signing them and, for a second there, suspected that she had attended a fake grade school herself. She felt that she had only seen some of the questions when she was attending junior high school but, now, she was seeing them on a second-grade examination.

With JingJing’s current grades, she would for sure be within the top 20 at No. 2 Grade School. If she was to use the examinations from No. 2 Grade School, definitely within the top 5. That was not to say that No. 2 Grade School was bad, but that their curriculum was different. Shu Yan had contemplated having JingJing returned to No. 2 Grade School but finally decided against it.

It was nice to raise happy children but that was also not good for the children’s future. Learning was important for them as well.

JingJing was the middle of the pack in class. She would neither get praised or criticized. Shu Yan normally just sat and listened when she attended these parent-teacher conference and didn’t have a lot of presence.

“Hi, I am Tiantian’s mother. You are JingJing’s mother, right?”

Tiantian was JingJing’s piano level 10 deskkmate. She was sweet like her name and also a sweet talker.

“Hi, Mother Tiantian.” It had always been Father Tiantian who came to the parent-teacher conferences. This was Shu Yan’s first time meeting Mother Tiantian. She wasn’t sure how to describe Mother Tiantian. If she was to look at Mother Tiantian’s features one by one, none of them were attractive but all of them combined made her a pretty woman, or should she say, chic?

“Tiantian mentions you quite a bit but I had been too busy to come to the parent-teacher conferences. I finally get to meet you today.” Mother Tiantian has a nice voice as well.

The two chatting a little and Shu Yan learned that Mother Tiantian had her own chained beauty salons. All of a sudden, her friendliness and articulation made sense.

“Here’s a super VIP card to our store. Do come and give us a try and give me some feedback.” Mother Tiantian made it sound really nice.

“Why, thank you.” Shu Yan had learned of this beauty salon but had never been there.

The one that she went to a lot was referred to her by Hu Ruixue. It was a little more upscale. Mainly they had good skincare products. Shu Yan had no intention of switching but she would go get a membership later on as a form of support.

“Oh look, we had been chatting this whole time and I still have no idea what do you do?” asked Mother Tiantian with a smile.

“I have my own clothing shop and I do alright. No where like yours,” said Shu Yan with a smile.

That might be what Shu Yan was saying but Mother Tiantian would not just take her words at face value. If it was just a small shop, her child would not be attending Nanshan Grade School.
