Chapter 141: Humans Are Weak and Coward

"You damn beast! Do you think this place belongs to you? Why are you stopping us from entering the temple?"

"Yeah! The owner of this place is Moon God and he has died, so this place belongs to no one now. Stop acting like an asshole and let us enter the Moon God Temple."

"Yeah! Stop acting like an asshole!"

Angry and annoyed voices reverberated in the entire area.

Ren turned his head toward the source of the sound when their voices reached his ears.

’Hmm?’

He saw sixty awakeners on the lakeside and forty magical beasts in demi-human form on the platform steps.

All the magical beasts were at 3-star, while half of the awakeners were at Elite rank or 2-star.

Ren was curious about their races, so he used the Appraisal feature on them.

’They are from Water Snake and Flame Chicken races?’

He shifted his gaze to their leaders.

The Water Snake race was led by a young man named Ardentis. Ardentis’ demi human form was that of a mature man with blue hair and black eyes.

As for the Flame Chicken race, their leader was an attractive young lady with long red hair and yellow eyes.

Her name was Valmira.

Ardentis and Valmira wanted to monopolize the treasure in the Moon God Temple, so they stopped all awakeners from approaching it.

"You can get on platform steps and fight me if you are unhappy." Ardentis showed no sign of fear despite knowing the number of awakeners before him because, in his eyes, they were only a bunch of weaklings.

He was a powerful beast and had never lost a fight before, so he believed he would not lose against them.

"Brothers, sisters, let’s just attack them! They will think we are easy to bully if we don’t fight back."

"I agree! We should attack them and show them the power of the human race."

"Kill them!"

One by one, they jumped onto the platform stairs and rushed toward the magical beasts.

Their usual rivalries were buried under the same enemies, and they looked like people from the same group.

Of course, something like this would not be found every day because this rare sight only occurred in certain situations and places.

A thrill coursed through Ardentis’ body as twenty awakeners landed on the platform stairs because he could slaughter humans again.

"Don’t die too quickly, human!" with a big grin on his face, Ardentis rushed toward them.

None of his subordinates or people from the Flame Chicken race followed him.

They stayed where they were and just watched the fight because they believed he could handle them easily.

"Aaaggghhh..."

"Aaaggghhh..."

"Aaaggghhh..."

The sound of awakeners crying out in pain reverberated in the entire area.

Even though Ardentis was facing twenty awakeners, he was not at a disadvantage. Every time he threw out his fist or kick, one awakener flew into mid-air.

Maybe calling it a fight was not quite right because it looked like he was slaughtering his enemies.

"Haha. I can finally feel this exciting feeling again!" Ardentis laughed happily as their enemies’ blood fell on his face or clothes because it had been a while since the last time he killed a human.

"Haha. Look at our leader! He looks like a kid playing in the rain for the first time!" a blue-haired magical beast spoke abruptly.

"Well, I can’t blame him because slaughtering humans does feel good." The red-haired magical beasts responded.

"As expected, they are weak!" Valmira, who was crossing her arms over her chest, remarked.

As the magical beasts were feeling happy, the awakeners on the lakeside gritted their teeth in anger.

Even though they were not from the same organization, they were furious when they saw Ardentis killing these twenty awakeners because it was related to the dignity and honor of the human race.

’Damn it!’

They wanted to rush toward him and fight him, but fear arose within them as they were about to take a step because they did not have the confidence to win against him.

After defeating all of his opponents, Ardentis didn’t return to where his group was; instead, he remained in his position.

"Humans are really weak!" Ardentis said with a mocking tone. "I felt like I was fighting children just now."

"Haha." Ardentis’ subordinates laughed loudly.

The anger in awakeners’ hearts grew bigger when he humiliated the human race.

"How dare you insult human race!" a green-haired man roared angrily.

"Because humans are really weak." Ardentis loved their expressions, so he kept humiliating them. "I faced them alone, yet they got killed by me easily. They even couldn’t land an attack on my body. If this isn’t called weak, then what is it?"

"I dare you say it again!" a brown-haired man’s face was red with rage because he hated it when magical beasts humiliated his race.

"Humans are a bunch of weaklings." A grin spread across his face as Ardentis mocked them again. "Why? You are not happy with my statement? Then get onto the platform steps and fight me. I will take back my words if you can defeat me. That is if you can defeat me."

Despite being unable to control his anger, the brown-haired man didn’t dare to step on the platform steps because he was aware of his strength.

"See! You don’t ever dare to fight me." Ardentis taunted, "Humans are weak and coward. Haha."

"Weak and coward! Haha." Ardentis’ subordinates repeated his words.

As the magical beasts were laughing at them, a voice suddenly rang out. "Hey, I didn’t hear your words clearly earlier. Can you repeat it again?"

All magical beasts instantly stopped laughing.

’Oh? Newcomers?’

They still acted arrogantly when they saw Ren and his group because they thought Ren and his group didn’t look strong.

Like the magical beasts, the awakeners also turned toward Ren and his group.

They were delighted when they knew the newcomers were from human race, but they were not sure Ren and his group could change the situation.

Ren walked through the group of awakeners and stood before them. "Hmm? Why are you silent? Say it again. I want to hear it."

"You want to hear it again? Sure!" Ardentis didn’t think of Ren as a dangerous person, so he didn’t change the way he behaved. "Humans are weak and cowardly! There, I’ve said it again. Did you hear it clearly this time, human?"

"You are weak and cowardly?" Ren pretended to hear it wrong. "Why are you talking about yourself? Did you not hear my words?"

The awakeners behind him chuckled happily upon hearing his words. Ardentis had been humiliating them all this time, so they were delighted when he mocked Ardentis.

Ardentis’s grin faltered, and his fingers curled into a fist.

However, the anger in his heart didn’t last long because he knew how to handle the situation.

"Human, if you have a problem with what I said, step onto the platform steps and prove me wrong." Ardentis challenged Ren to fight him because strength was the best way to deal with someone like him.

All awakeners shifted their gaze from Ardentis to Ren, waiting for his answer.

Even though they didn’t expect him to win, but they hoped he dared to accept the challenge because they would get humiliated again if he refused the challenge.

"Sure." Ren was not afraid of Ardentis, so he stepped onto the stairs immediately.

"Well, at least you are not a coward like the previous human." Ardentis said as he glanced at the brown-haired man. "But courage alone is not enough because you also need strength to back up your words and behavior."

When he was about to attack Ren, he was stopped by one of his subordinates.

"Leader, may I take on this human?" a yellow-haired magical beast named Dalan spoke abruptly. "He doesn’t seem strong enough to be worth your time. Letting you fight him would be too much of an honor for him. Please let me fight him instead."

"Sure." Ardentis changed his mind instantly because Dalan was a powerful 3-star magical beast.

"What is this? Are you suddenly afraid to fight me?" Ren took the opportunity to make fun of Ardentis.

"Human, you are too weak to face our leader!" After saying that, Dalan dashed toward Ren, swinging his spear forward.

*Slash...

Ren swung his sword once.

In the next second, Dalan’s head was separated from his body.

Ren caught Dalan’s head before it fell to the ground, grabbing it by the hair.

"He said I was weak, yet he was killed with just one move from me." Ren shifted his gaze from Dalan’s head to Ardentis. "Hey, are your underlings full of boastful beasts?"

At this moment, Ardentis didn’t hear Ren’s question because he was stunned by what was going on.

Dalan was one of his strongest subordinates, yet he was killed in one move.

Something like this shouldn’t have happened because Ren was Master rank warrior, so their fight shouldn’t have ended this quickly.

Like Ardentis, the awakeners behind Ren were also in a state of shock.

They previously had no high hopes for Ren, so his effortless one-hit kill left them stunned, causing them to stand like statues.

Among everyone present, only Scarlett and Lexie maintained their composure.

Even Zaria and Ariana were still startled by what they were seeing.

However, their shock was less than that of others because they had witnessed his incredible power before.

"He always surprises everyone wherever he is." Lexie’s lips curled up into a smile when she saw their expressions.

"That’s the price for fighting Ren!" Scarlett stated.

"Hey, your subordinate only lasted a second. So, are you going to fight me now, or are you just going to keep hiding behind your weakling subordinates?" Ren inquired.
