In front of Lumen’s eyes stood the skill selection list that he had previously missed for whatever reason had kept him occupied when it came up.

This list was just like all of the others he had been presented with, with the usual 4 skills listed below. Just like every other time there were trash skills listed just to fill in the gaps, 2 of them this time, whereas the other two were quite special indeed.

The superhuman senses skill had shown itself once again from his level 30 skill selection list, and just like last time this skill seemed quite good for what it offered. This time however he was more than certain that this skill would add to his already enhanced senses even more, giving him even more of an edge when he fought in battles just like this battle with the final boss of the tutorial he was fighting right now.

[Arcane Mastery (Heroic) - Once a legendary skill of unparalleled calibre, you will gain a deep understanding of arcane magic, allowing you to manipulate the very fabric of reality. This skill enhances your spellcasting abilities, reduces mana consumption, double’s your mana pool, and unlocks advanced magical techniques.

You will start from the basic level where only slightly enhanced spellcasting abilities are granted, along with the doubled mana pool. Level up the skill to further unlock and enhance it’s abilities. If you do this, you may have the chance to upgrade the skill to it’s original rank of legendary some day.]

Lumen looked over both of the good skills he had been offered and didn’t even give it a second thought before choosing the ’Arcane Mastery’ skill. This was clearly the better of the two, and without even going into deep thought of the backstory of the skill once being of the legendary rarity, Lumen felt the rush of the doubled mana pool coming at him all at once.

He felt a surge of power as a new wave of confidence rushed through him.

’This skill was practically hand crafted for my current situation. My mana pool has been running on near empty ever since the Golem faked it’s demise. Maybe with this new increase in mana I can actually win this fight...’

Lumen, infused with the power of the "Arcane Mastery" skill, felt a renewed surge of energy course through his veins. The summit of the colossal mountain had become a battleground, and the Apex Mountain Guardian, though weakened, still posed a formidable threat.

With his doubled mana pool and enhanced spellcasting abilities, Lumen’s movements became fluid and precise. He relied on the skills and techniques he had honed throughout his journey. As the guardian unleashed a barrage of stone projectiles, Lumen used his Shadow Blink skill to teleport and dodge with uncanny speed and precision. Each time the guardian’s attacks came in, he vanished and reappeared, avoiding the deadly projectiles.

In response, Lumen summoned his Fire Bolt skill, creating a fiery blast that intercepted the incoming rocks. The fiery shockwave erupted in a blaze of flames, sending the stone projectiles scattering harmlessly into the air.

The guardian roared in frustration, its attacks thwarted by Lumen’s evasive manoeuvres and defensive spells. But Lumen knew he couldn’t keep up this defensive strategy forever. He needed to take the offensive.

With a swift motion, Lumen channelled his mana through his Arcane Spear, infusing it with the fiery energy of his Fire Infusion skill. The weapon blazed with a searing intensity as he lunged at the guardian. Flames erupted from the spear’s tip as he struck, aiming for the pulsating core within the guardian’s shattered exoskeleton.

The impact was monumental. Fire and magic erupted in a brilliant explosion that enveloped the guardian. The shockwave sent the colossal creature reeling, its form cracking and crumbling under the onslaught. Lumen’s attack had found its mark, and the guardian’s life force began to wane.

But Lumen knew he was running out of mana. His doubled pool had given him an advantage, but it was not limitless. He had to end this battle before his magical energy was completely depleted.

Summoning the last reserves of his mana, Lumen launched one final assault. Fire Bolts and shockwaves danced around him as he pressed his advantage. The guardian fought back with all its remaining strength, summoning stone pillars and elemental tempests, but Lumen’s enhanced spellcasting abilities allowed him to evade and counter with uncanny precision.

With a burst of fiery energy, Lumen drove his Fire Infused Spear into the guardian’s core one last time. The resulting explosion was blinding, a cataclysmic eruption of magic and fire that consumed the guardian’s form. The creature’s howls of pain and fury echoed through the summit until they were silenced.

As the smoke and dust cleared, Lumen stood victorious, his mana pool completely drained. He had pushed himself to the limits of his abilities and beyond, using every skill and technique at his disposal to defeat the guardian. The summit of the colossal mountain was now his, its secrets waiting to be uncovered.

The countdown to the tutorial’s end reached its final moments, Lumen could hardly believe the battle was over. He had faced the ultimate challenge and emerged victorious, claiming the guardian’s ancient power and the secrets of the summit.

But as the adrenaline faded and exhaustion overcame him, Lumen’s vision blurred, and his strength waned. With a final, triumphant smile, he collapsed to the ground, unconscious, his body and mind spent from the battle.

While Lumen was sleeping however, a ruckus was caused all throughout the tutorial due to the actions of his fight at the peak of the mountain, that would forever surmount his name as one of the most powerful members of the tutorial.
