Chapter 189 I Met With Them
In the president’s residence in the Universal Federation…
A bunch of people were quarreling. If anyone who knew them saw this, their jaw would hit the floor, because everybody here was a Martial Saint, including the headmasters of the Four Focused Colleges, Qiu Linghan, and Bing Qiao and Mo Li from the Guild of Pharmacists.
Most of these Martial Saints were gazing at Qiu Linghan angrily.
Mo Li, the deputy leader of the Glorious Sky Federation, said, “Qiu Linghan, you could’ve sent anyone to the Glorious Sky Federation except Wang Hao. If anything happens to him, the Guild of Pharmacists will declare war on Skyfire Corp.”
“Old Mo, it was me who allowed Wang Hao to go to the Glorious Sky Federation. It was not Qiu Linghan’s decision,” said Su Mu.
Bing Qiao frowned and said coldly, “Su Mu, you’re crazy. Wang Hao is a pharmacist. You can groom him as a simple martial artist.”
“Humph!” Wu Tianlun snorted and said, “The boy chose the path of martial arts, so he is a martial artist. Stop flattering yourselves.”
Mo Li was beyond angry. “Wang Hao did choose martial arts, but he belongs to the Guild of Pharmacists too. You put him in danger without informing us, which was obviously disrespect for the Guild of Pharmacists.”
Hua Zixu hurried to say, “Everybody, be cool. What happened, happened. We should focus on how to ensure the kids’ safety instead of fighting here.”
All the Martial Saints finally stopped quarreling after hearing that.
Seeing that everybody fell silent, a middle-aged man said slowly, “Qiu Linghan, you’ve crossed the line. You sent those geniuses to the Glorious Sky Federation without the permission of the five forces. You even involved the Xia family in this.”
Qiu Linghan snorted. “Mr. President, I think you’re wrong. I talked to all those forces except the Xia family before I sent the kids to the Glorious Sky Federation.”
The president frowned and looked at a man next to him: Ling Hai, Ling Xiao’s dad and his most trusted subordinate.
Ling Hai smiled bitterly, obviously implying that he did not know that Ling Xiao went to the Glorious Sky Federation. Obviously, Hua Zixu was behind this.
“Is that how you talk to people?” The president grew cold. He always had high hopes for Ling Xiao, who was a special genius that he had been grooming.
However, Qiu Linghan sent the boy away without informing him. Did she think that he was a dead person?
“Ling Xiao is not your subordinate yet. Am I wrong to have talked to his master instead?” argued Qiu Linghan matter-of-factly.
The president couldn’t be more angry. When raising their juniors, they never took their juniors back to their bases for fear that their juniors would grow arrogant knowing that they had people to count on.
So, they let the juniors travel and grow up outside until the juniors became stronger and maturer before they took them back.
Yet, Qiu Linghan just made an excuse using that arrangement.
“She didn’t lie. She talked to me,” said an old man from outside the doorway. He staggered into the room with a stick in his hand.
“Senior Chen!”
All the Martial Saints, including the president, stood up and bowed at Senior Chen respectfully.
This Senior Chen belonged to the Guild of Adventurers. He was also one of the oldest men in the Universal Federation. Nobody knew how strong he was exactly.
In the meantime, he was also Le Xuan’s grandmaster.
Qiu Linghan hurried to help Senior Chen sit down in the president’s seat, and the president could only roll his eyes and give his seat away.
“Don’t be nervous. Just sit down.” Senior Chen waved his hand and simply sat.
Yet, nobody dared to sit. They were all kids in front of this man, and they all lost their pride.
Senior Chen did not insist that they sit. He said, “Qiu Linghan told me what happened. In fact, we’re a family. There’s no need to argue. If the Glorious Sky Federation dares to capture the kids, we’ll go out together and demand that they release them.”
Everybody rolled their eyes, as they realized that the old man was shameless too.
If Qiu Lei of Skyfire Corp was the only one who was caught, they wouldn’t care about it at all.
However, if all the kids were captured, they would have no choice except to stick together and force the Glorious Sky Federation to release them.
They were 100% sure that the Glorious Sky Federation would release the captives.
After all, nobody except an idiot would fight an interstellar war for a few kids.
The worst they would expect was to pay ransoms to get the kids back.
Therefore, they had been tricked by Qiu Linghan since the beginning, and they had to take her side.
At this moment, Qiu Linghan said, “Everybody, what I did was indeed inappropriate. If the kids are caught, Skyfire Corp will pay the ransoms, and if the kids get Qiu Lei back, I’ll give a gift to each of you.”
None of the Martial Saints had anything to say anymore. The kids would be safe, and this was a great chance for them to gain experience. It was a fair deal from any perspective.
Besides, what could they do except to accept it, since the kids were already in the Glorious Sky Federation?
Seeing that they all accepted it, Senior Chen smiled and said, “Now that the problem has been worked out, I’d like to make an announcement.”
All the Martial Saints listened respectfully.
“This time, I’ve sent Le Xuan, Le Yuanguang’s daughter, to the Glorious Sky Federation in order to better groom her. If you ever take advantage of her in the future, don’t blame me for my ruthlessness.”
Hardly had he finished his sentence when Senior Chen widened his eyes. The whole room was immediately chilled, making everybody feel that they had been frozen.
It happened in the blink of an eye. When everybody looked back at Senior Chen again, he still appeared as if he were dying.
“We’ll definitely remember that, Senior Chen,” said the Martial Saints respectfully, secretly horrified by this old man’s strength.
Senior Chen nodded with a smile and left the room with Qiu Linghan’s help.
The president shook his head and sighed. They had to do something now that Senior Chen had stepped in, or they might be spanked when Senior Chen was upset, which would be humiliating.
Very soon, the president gave an order, and the five forces of the Universal Federation deployed their troops to the border, partly to distract the experts of the Glorious Sky Federation so that the pressure on the kids would be relieved, and partly to force the Glorious Sky Federation to release the kids if anything happened to them…
