Chapter 561 I AM NOT GIVING UP ON YOU

Kenna was scared when this strange man came into her room and was about to wake Jasmine up. Her mother didn't like it when someone woke her up when she was sleeping. She was having a headache and had been screaming on the top of her lungs for hours, she scolded little Kenna and was so mean to her.

"Don't wake mommy up, she will get mad, really, really mad." Kenna pulled Sol's jacket, she was almost crying, as she shook her head. Her scalp was burning because her mother pulled her hair so hard, since she was crying too loud and disturbed her sleep. "No, don't wake her up." Her voice was barely a whisper.

On the other hand, Sol stopped for a while to look at this little girl. She must be a shifter too, just like her father, at this point, Sol didn't know that Kenna had different father from the rest of her siblings.

"It's okay, I am your mother's little brother. She will be happy to see me." Sol caressed her head, but she flinched because her scalp was hurt.

"I will wake her up for a while, why don't you go outside and play with your siblings?" Sol asked her again. He looked at her eyes, which filled with worry.

"I can't go outside, father doesn't like it when I am going outside. He doesn't want me to meet my siblings."

Sol tilted his head. He thought it was so weird for Liam to separate his children. "Why not?"

Little Kenna shook her head again. "I don't know…" she lowered her head and looked so sad. "Father doesn't like me."

"Why father doesn't like you? Kenna is beautiful." Sol now looked at the girl and put all of his attention on her.

"Kenna doesn't know." She fiddled with her fingers. 𝓯𝙧𝒆𝒆𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝓸𝓿𝒆𝓵.𝙘𝓸𝓶

Sol narrowed his eyes to see such gesture and then he was smiling even brighter now. "Why don't you go out and play for a while? I will go out after talking with your mother? That way, you will not get scolded."

Kenna shifted her attention from her mother to Sol's face, but then she nodded. "I will go to play with Aiden."

Aiden was Emma's twin and she was closer to him rather than Emma, because she didn't like to play with her.

"But, father…" Kenna looked hesitated, she didn't want to get scolded by her father too.

"I will talk with your father so you can play with your sibling, okay?"

Kenna's eyes lit up when she heard that and then nodded vigorously. "Yes."

"Okay, you can go now." Sol patted her head and watched as she strode out of the room, her face looked so happy to know that she was going to play with her siblings.

After the little girl walked out of the room, Sol put his focus on his sibling. Jasmine. It had been so long, since the last time he met with her.

But of course, the image of her in his mind didn't match with her actual person, who was laying on the bed right now.

She looked like a withered flower at this moment. She didn't even look like July at all, though both of them had endured hardship on their own, but it simply looked very different for her.

"You are truly stubborn, sis." Sol sat down on the edge of her bed and stared at her for a while, before he shook her body to wake her up again.

It took some time for Sol to finally able to wake her up and she looked at him groggily.

"This must be a dream…" Jasmine muttered under her breathe when she saw Sol was there. "It must be a dream. There is no way you are here."

"This is me," Sol said, his throat tightened because he saw sadness and disappointment in her eyes.

Growing up, the two of them was not really close and Sol was closer to July than her, but the time that they spent together in the organization when their father forced him to join, Jasmine taught him a lot of things, which was very handy when he took over their father's position when he passed away.

"This is not possible…" Jasmine blinked her eyes, she looked at Sol dreamily, didn't believe with what she was seeing. "I have been waiting for so long for someone to look for me here, but no one came to my rescue. I have been thrown away. This must be a dream."

Sol felt his chest tightened, he didn't know that his sister had been waiting for them to come for all these eight years.

"I am sorry I didn't come sooner," Sol said, he pulled Jasmine into a hug. "You can go home now, sis. You can go back home…" he said softly.

"I am waiting for someone to come… I have been waiting for so long, but no one came to save me."

"I am here, I am here to take you back home, sis. You don't need to worry again." Sol hugged Jasmine tighter and rubbed her back in soothing motion, she was so skinny was underweight, the sister that he knew was not there, the commander that taught him how to handle hundreds to thousands of men, was not there. "I will take you home and I will exact your revenge."

Jasmine stopped crying when she heard that, her eyes became sharper.

"Revenge…"

"Yes, I will avenge you. I will make them suffer for doing this to you." Sol hugged her and rested his chin on her shoulder, as he spoke in whispery tone. "This pack is under my control. The alpha is within my palm. You don't need to worry, just give me a little bit more time."

Time…

Jasmine thought, she could give him that.

Sol had penetrated this pack and made an alliance with Liam, this was a precarious alliance, which both side was standing on the eggshell.

But, in the end, they still did it anyway.

=====================

"Chaos?" Zuri was stupefied, she couldn't move anywhere, since she was the one, who put Chaos's head on her laps and more so, the way he looked at her made her unable to move, as if he was draining her strength.

This was the feeling that was so weird for Zuri, as she watched her surroundings changed, the flowers withered and the sky turned darker.

"Chaos?" Zuri stared into his dark eyes, as he pushed himself to sit down. He said nothing and Zuri was too stupefied to interrupt him.

"This realm is going to collapse," Chaos said, as he lifted his head and then looked at the sky. He didn't blink his eyes at all, but there was pain in them.

"What… what will happen if this realm collapse?" Zuri had never heard something like that possible to happen, but then, she was almost clueless about this kind of things, since she just learned about it a few days ago. "What will happen with you?"

Chaos tilted his head and then looked at Zuri with his expression that was devoid from any emotion.

"Disappear."

"What do you mean with disappear?"

"If the realm collapses, it will disappear." Chaos blinked his eyes and Zuri couldn't take it any longer, she moved to hug him closely to her, as she looked around her, watching how the velvety green grass turned yellow.

"What can we do to stop it?" Zuri had told Chaos before that she wouldn't give up and she wouldn't do it now. "What can we do to prevent it from happening?"

"Nothing."

Zuri didn't believe that. "Let's find your shattered soul, okay? We will take them all and you will gain your power back. The shattered soul will help you to control the darkness inside of you."

Chaos said nothing, he closed his eyes and savored the closeness between him and Zuri. It had been a long time for him to not touch her like this.

"It's okay." Zuri buried her face against the crook of his shoulder. "Everything will be alright. We will face this together. I told you that I will not give up. I will not give up on you or on us."

Chaos didn't respond to that. It was not about giving up, but it was about fate. Just like what the centaurs said, their fate was doomed since the very beginning.

The white wolf was sent by the moon goddess to accompany him, but they were also bestowed by the power of protection, not to protect Chaos, like what they believed, but to protect human from his wrath when he couldn't control the darkness inside of him.

Just like those people in the village thought of the white wolf as a protection from a devil.

The white wolf was indeed a protector, not for Chaos, but from him.

Zuri didn't realize it yet, but Chaos knew it now.

The realization hit him so hard.

"There will be time that you have to give it up," Chaos said in whispery tone, but Zuri refused to listen to that, she shook her head in determination, as she hugged him a little bit tighter.

"I can use protection now, just like you want me," Zuri informed him, she was glad that she still had him and he didn't lose to the darkness.

"You have done well."

"Now, I can protect you."

And there was where Zuri misunderstood of her power.
