Unveil Her Secret Identities-Chapter 24 - 0, is this your friend? _1
Chapter 24: 024, is this your friend? _1
Lu Qingyi sneered, "The Lu family? I’m not too fond of it."
The Lu Family?
Hah.
From her childhood to adulthood, she hadn’t even spent a full thirty days at that household.
She has no particular feelings for the Lu family, nor does she find them intriguing.
She is curious as to why so many people like to use the Lu family to strike up a conversation with her?
Is the Lu family really that alluring?
Xia Yin accusatively said, "You’re all unappreciative of the blessings around you."
She dreams of having an enviable background and can’t comprehend why those who possess it never see how fortunate they are.
"Unreasonable," she uttered.
Jiang Yumeng gave a "pah" sound, then took Lu Qingyi and left the classroom.
Dealing with people like Xia Yin, she felt extremely weary.
"Qing Sister, I can’t believe that Xia Yin is like this."
Jiang Yumeng pouted, her voice filled with disbelief.
Having barely interacted with Xia Yin, she hadn’t expected her to have such radical thoughts.
Lu Qingyi responded indifferently with a simple, "Mm."
"Qing sister, where did you go for breakfast?"
Only then did Jiang Yumeng realize that Lu Qingyi had come into the classroom empty-handed.
She had bought a lot of breakfast, Lu Qingyi could not have finished it that quickly.
"Given to someone."
Lu Qingyi said flatly.
Given to someone?
Jiang Yumeng was a bit dazed.
Having spent a few days together, she had a good understanding of Lu Qingyi’s temperaments and habits.
She liked being alone and seemed to have no friends at school, so who did she give it to?
"The candy shop owner."
Seemingly sensing Jiang Yumeng’s confusion, Lu Qingyi spoke up.
The candy shop owner?
Freaking hell!
Was it the new, handsome and aloof owner?
Many at school had been eyeing the candy shop owner for some time, but none have approached him.
After the candy shop owner changed, the stuff inside was hardly sold and therefore, there were hardly any customers left.
Nobody knows what the candy shop owner is up to.
"Ah, Qing sister, can you converse with the candy shop owner?"
Jiang Yumeng seemed like a star-struck fan, grabbing Lu Qingyi’s arm and looking forward to her answer.
Lu Qingyi looked at the hand on her arm and answered, "Uh-huh, I haven’t been to the cafeteria."
She greatly disliked physical contact, but didn’t particularly resist this with Jiang Yumeng. It just made her slightly uncomfortable.
Jiang Yumeng looked surprised, "Then what do you eat?"
Lu Qingyi had been there for a week already, how could she have never been to the cafeteria?
What did she eat every day? Instant noodles?
It’s important to note that no takeaway is allowed for the students.
"Kid, you’re back?"
Before they realized it, they’d arrived at the candy shop. Xu Boyan stretched casually, the corners of his mouth-curving upward.
Turns out the kid has friends after all.
Every time he saw her, she was alone, which led him to believe that she wasn’t very popular.
Holy shit, kid?
Jiang Yumeng’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The familiar tone, the affectionate nickname, it suggested they were close.
"Do you have any more milk candies?"
Lu Qingyi began rummaging through her pocket, which had run empty.
Xu Boyan opened a drawer, taking out a pack of milk candies, "Kept for you."
Jiang Yumeng looked stupefied, her gaze darted between Lu Qingyi and Xu Boyan.
Was there something between these two?
They seemed extremely familiar with each other?
"Thank you." Lu Qingyi ripped open the wrapper without any ceremony, "want some?"
She held a few pieces of milk candy in her hand, offering them to Jiang Yumeng in a cold tone.
"Ah, Qing sister, I’ll pass."
Jiang Yumeng hurriedly shook her head in refusal.
There hadn’t been any milk candies available in the candy shop before. It was clear that these candies had been set aside specifically for Lu Qingyi.
She meant to accept, but unknowingly, she met Xu Boyan’s eyes and couldn’t help but shudder.
His gaze was deep, pressuring her, as if the moment she accepted the candy, he could rip her apart with just a look. That was terrifying.
"Kid, is this your friend?"
Quite a discerning one.
Xu Boyan looked at Jiang Yumeng with a hint of a smirk.
"Sort of, she sits in front of me."
Lu Qingyi opened a piece of candy and popped it into her mouth.
She never made many friends growing up and didn’t really understand the concept of it.
Perhaps, Jiang Yumeng could be considered a friend?
Typically, she preferred to be alone.
"Help yourself to anything you want."
Xu Boyan’s focus was on Lu Qingyi, his words, however, were directed at Jiang Yumeng.
Jiang Yumeng was stunned momentarily, her eyes widened.
She still remembered that when the candy shop owner had just switched, she had come to buy snacks during the break, but the owner had refused to sell!
Later, she found out that whether the candy shop owner sold anything was contingent on his mood.
Jiang Yumeng tugged at Lu Qingyi’s sleeve, "Qing sister..."
She sought Lu Qingyi’s opinion.
Lu Qingyi didn’t see it as a big deal, "If you want something, take it."
Worst comes to worst, she’d just pay for the snacks later.
"Then, I won’t stand on ceremony."
As a well-known foodie, Jiang Yumeng had no resistance towards snacks, she had been yearning for the candy shop’s snacks for a long time.
These two’s relationship seems to have a problem,
It did seem like they were a perfect match after all.
Xu Boyan smiled lightly, "The kid is really not bashful."
Lu Qingyi sounded a lot like the storekeeper, he felt particularly pleased.
"If it’s seen as a loss, I can pay for it."
Lu Qingyi’s gaze drifted to Jiang Yumeng, who was seizing snacks from the candy shop. The corner of her mouth twitched involuntarily.
She saw Jiang Yumeng stuffing snacks into a large bag, and her arms were full.
How hungry could this child be?
How long has she not had snacks?
Lu Qingyi seriously suspects that if given the opportunity, Jiang Yumeng could quite possibly empty out the entire candy shop.
Xu Boyan followed Lu Qingyi’s gaze, a slight curve forming at the corner of his mouth.
The kid’s friend seems to eat quite a bit.
The kid has become a bit of a picky eater. If only the kid’s friend could spark her interest in food.
Emptying out the candy shop is no big deal.
"No problem, I don’t leverage my store to earn money."
Xu Boyan naturally ruffled Lu Qingyi’s hair, speaking softly.
It wasn’t convenient for him to explain his actual motive to Lu Qingyi, after all, she was still young and might not understand certain things.
Lu Qingyi looked at him, puzzled. Her eyes full of questions, "But you said earlier that owning a candy shop is profitable."
Even though she didn’t believe it, this was indeed what Xu Boyan had said.
"Heh, kids are really cute."
Xu Boyan chuckled, finding Lu Qingyi extremely adorable.
She’d been skeptical before, yet she still questioned him about it. This really was cute.
