Chapter 102: Chapter 101: Interesting

"A pleasure," he said with a charming smile, his voice warm and polite.

"The pleasure is mine," she said. "Sorry, if you had any inconvenience here. If there’s anything further, we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to ask."

Rex inclined his head. "Thank you. Your staff has been most accommodating."

Looking at the clothes being processed she said, "Your selections are exquisite."

"Yeah, so good that I bought it all."

Seraphina’s smile lingered as she gestured toward the plush seating area. "Please, allow me to personally assist you with the billing and delivery arrangements. We don’t often have the pleasure of serving someone with such... bold taste and decisive charm."

Rex raised an eyebrow, his lips quirking. "That’s a fancy way of saying I caused a scene, isn’t it?"

She laughed lightly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "A memorable one, yes. But more importantly, you’ve earned our utmost attention."

As they sat, the staff member finally returned with a chilled bottle of Coke, neatly presented in a silver ice bucket. Seraphina looked at it with mild amusement.

"We didn’t have it on hand, so staff had to buy it from elsewhere. For you, I’d have flown to Antarctica if needed."

Rex chuckled. "I appreciate the dedication."

She opened a sleek leather-bound folder on the table, revealing the list of items he had tried on. "This is everything you selected. Would you like the tags removed, or shall we send them as they are?"

"Take them off, it’s not like I’m planning on returning them and send them to my address." He said, telling her his address.

She smiled. "Of course. I’ll personally see to it."

"And," Rex added, almost as an afterthought, "thanks for getting the Coke."

She glanced at it, her expression shifting slightly. Recognition, perhaps? Or curiosity. Either way, she didn’t comment. Instead, she took out her tablet and began coordinating with the staff.

As the assistants bustled around, carefully folding and packing items, the store buzzed with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. Finally, one of them approached Seraphina with a neatly organized tablet, whispering something discreetly.

She nodded, turned to Rex with that same composed smile, and said in a clear, graceful voice, "Mr. Rex, the final tally is in. You selected twenty pieces in total. Your bill comes to..." she paused just enough to build suspense, "one hundred and eight thousand dollars."

There was a beat of silence.

Rex’s mouth twitched—just slightly. A tick at the corner of his lips.

Damn... that’s really expensive.

He hadn’t quite expected it to tip into six figures so easily. But the surprise passed in a blink. Just as he was about to nod, Seraphina leaned in slightly, her perfume delicate and refined, her voice hushed with exclusivity.

"However," she said, her lips curling into a conspiratorial smile, "as a very special exception... just for you, we can round it down to an even one hundred thousand."

She leaned a little closer, her voice lower now. "It’s not something we usually offer—but consider it our personal welcome to the Luviton experience."

Rex instinctively pulled back just a bit, momentarily flustered by the sudden closeness and her soft, elegant voice. A rare flicker of embarrassment passed over his face, quickly masked with a light cough.

"I—uh... I see. Thanks." He cleared his throat, then gave a quick smile. "I appreciate the gesture." Of course, he wouldn’t refuse the discount offered, due to some weird chauvinism, no matter how much, money was still money. It wasn’t just about saving a few thousand—it was about the principle.

"Of course," she replied, stepping back with professional grace, though there was a knowing glint in her eyes.

Rex leaned back into the plush sofa, lifting the glass of Coke to his lips with more composure than before. He took a sip, letting the cold fizziness ground him.

Well, I’ve got money now—might as well enjoy it. It’s not like I’m going broke anytime soon, not because I need to prove anything.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he looked around the luxurious boutique. Back then, he thought, just trying on a designer piece felt like a fantasy. I used to walk past these stores pretending I didn’t care. Now look at me—buying the whole collection like it’s a bag of chips.

The shock faded into satisfaction. So, this is what it feels like... not just wearing luxury but owning it. Choosing it. Living it.

"I’ve also taken the liberty to include a few exclusive pieces from next season’s preview collection," she added, her voice lower now, more personal. "They won’t be released for another three months, but I think they’d suit you... exceptionally well."

Rex leaned back, swirling the Coke in its glass. "That’s generous of you."

"I believe in rewarding boldness," she said, meeting his gaze.

Their eyes locked for a moment too long.

Then she looked down, tapping something on her tablet. "Also, if I may ask..."

"Yes?"

She hesitated—not quite shy, but careful. "You don’t happen to be in... entertainment, do you? Modeling? Film?"

Rex grinned. "Do I look like an actor?"

"You look like trouble," she replied smoothly, lips curling into a knowing smile. "The kind that walks in unannounced, rewrites the rules, and leaves everyone wondering what just happened."

He gave a short laugh. "Well, I’ll take that as a compliment."

The transaction was completed within minutes.

Rex stood up, adjusting his sleeves as the final receipt was handed over. He glanced at Seraphina with a relaxed smile.

"Thanks for the service," he said casually. Then, almost as an afterthought, he added, "I might drop by again soon.

Seraphina’s lips curved into a genuine smile, her eyes glinting with intrigue. "We’d look forward to that, Mr. Rex."

The staff, still dazed, worked in silence as Seraphina stood to escort him toward the exit.

"Your order will be hand-delivered within the hour. And... if you ever decide to visit again," she added, voice like velvet, "ask for me personally."

With a subtle nod of thanks to Seraphina, he turned toward the door. The cool, crisp air outside seemed to beckon him, a sharp contrast to the opulence of the boutique. He didn’t rush. His steps were steady, unhurried—each one purposeful, as though he had all the time in the world.

As he approached the glass doors, the afternoon sun broke through the clouds, casting a golden outline around him. The light seemed to follow his every move, painting a halo around his silhouette as he stepped out into the world beyond. The air outside was warmer, richer, and somehow more inviting as he stepped into it, the golden glow of the sun lingering in the atmosphere around him

As the glass doors slowly swung closed behind him, the store seemed to fall into a soft hush.

The staff looked at each other, faces a mixture of awe and curiosity.

The customers whispered, eyes lingering on the door.

They didn’t know his background.

They didn’t know where he came from.

But they all knew one thing for sure.

He wasn’t just some rich kid playing dress-up.

He was the real deal.

Seraphina stood by the counter, arms crossed lightly. Her eyes lingered on the entrance for a beat longer than necessary, then smiled to herself—something slow, intrigued, and just a little amused.

"Interesting," she murmured. freёnovelkiss.com
