Chapter 221: Taking a bite of the Boss’s finger
After collecting their food, they drove for another five minutes before reaching the seaside villa. Han Xin had already instructed Butler Qing to prepare three more guest rooms. As they walked in, laden with bags of food, Butler Qing met them at the door.
"You could have told me that you hadn’t eaten dinner. I would have prepared something for—" Butler Qing’s voice trailed off as he noticed the little girls holding their bags of chicken, looking around with wide-eyed wonder.
"And who might this be?" Butler Qing asked, his curiosity piqued.
Xiang Yu stepped forward. "That’s Lian, and that is Mei. They are my little girls."
Butler Qing’s eyes widened in surprise. He glanced at Han Xin, who was taking off his suit jacket with his back turned. Han Zhan, sensing the butler’s confusion, added, "They are adopted."
"Oh," Butler Qing said, crouching down to their level. "Hello, Lian and Mei. I am Butler Qing. You can call me Uncle Qing."
Mei giggled and said, "I am not Mei, I am Lian."
Lian joined in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Yeah, I am Mei, Uncle."
Butler Qing chuckled, playing along. "Really? You two are so alike, this old uncle can’t tell who is who."
Xiang Yu found the exchange amusing, a rare smile tugging at his lips. While he was watching the twins mess with Butler Qing, Han Xin called him over. Xiang Yu walked across the room, his steps measured. Before he could say anything, Han Xin spoke, his tone firm. "Make yourself at home."
Xiang Yu hesitated, feeling a mix of gratitude and discomfort. "You really didn’t have to take us in," he said, his voice low.
Han Xin, pulling back his tie, stared at him with an intensity that left no room for argument. "You will stay here until it’s absolutely safe."
The finality in Han Xin’s voice was unmistakable. Xiang Yu nodded, accepting the decision. "Thank you. We will be out of your hair as soon as possible."
Just then, Han Xin’s phone rang. It was the head of security for the property. Han Xin raised a finger, signalling Xiang Yu to wait. Xiang Yu nodded and stepped back, giving him space.
Seeing that Xiang Yu was momentarily free, Little Bai approached him. "Brother, where am I staying? This place is too nice; I don’t want to be a burden."
Xiang Yu patted his shoulder reassuringly. "You can stay with me."
Little Bai looked relieved but then asked, "What about the tattoo shop?" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Before Xiang Yu could respond, Han Zhan draped an arm around his shoulders, pulling him towards the couch. "Why are we talking about this now? Come, let’s play a game."
Xiang Yu was dragged to the couch, Han Zhan’s hands all over him. He sat down, slightly bewildered. Han Zhan handed him a pair of headsets. "Here, wear these. Let’s not make noise for Ah-Xin, he will scold me half to death."
Xiang Yu put them on, but the mic ended up behind him. Han Zhan chuckled and fixed it for him, his fingers brushing through Xiang Yu’s hair. "Wow, it really is soft."
Xiang Yu looked up at Han Zhan’s grabby paws, arching an eyebrow. Han Zhan suddenly felt a biting chill crawl up his back. He picked up the tablet with the home system controls and adjusted the room temperature. "Did you feel that? It’s cold in here." Xiang Yu, still adjusting to the headsets, didn’t feel the chill.
Lian and Mei sat down at the table, their eyes wide with excitement as Butler Qing set them up with their food. They were fascinated by the sea view and couldnt wait to explore. Meanwhile Little Bai brought food for both Han Zhan and Xiang Yu, despite Butler Qing’s assurances that he didn’t need to worry about it.
Xiang Yu, too engrossed in the game, signalled to Little Bai to feed him. Little Bai didn’t mind. He was just happy to have something to do. He alternated between eating his own food and poking cheesy fries from Xiang Yu’s plate with a fork. This process repeated for a while, with Xiang Yu and Han Zhan focused intently on their game.
When Han Xin returned from his call, he paused at the doorway, taking in the scene. Little Bai was happily feeding Xiang Yu, who was glued to the screen, playing a game with Han Zhan. He felt an intense irritation that he couldn’t supress. Without thinking, Han Xin said, "I got this. Butler Qing is going to show you and the girls where you will stay."
Little Bai, not thinking much of it, nodded and got up. Han Xin looked at the half-eaten chicken tender on the plate, feeling a bit out of his depth. He had never fed anyone before. Xiang Yu’s fingers moved deftly on the game controller as he said, "Too slow, Little Bai." He was referring to the food.
Han Xin, inexperienced but determined, moved the fork closer. Xiang Yu took a bite without looking, his focus still on the game. After swallowing, Xiang Yu said, "Add more sauce, Bai Bai. You are sleeping on the job." He still had his headsets on, oblivious to the change in his feeder.
Han Xin glanced at the sauce, which looked less than appetising in the small dish. He dipped the chicken tender into it and brought the fork closer, but the sauce almost dripped down. Han Xin caught it with his palm, looking around for a paper towel. As he did, Xiang Yu bit into the chicken tender, smudging some chicken and sauce at the corner of his lips.
Han Xin furrowed his brows, a mix of irritation and amusement crossing his face. He wanted to give Xiang Yu the paper towel to wipe away the food at the corner of his lips, but Xiang Yu seemed so focused on the game. Not wanting to disturb him, Han Xin reached over with the paper towel and gently wiped it away. However, Xiang Yu misunderstood. Thinking it was another chicken tender, he turned his head slightly and bit down hard.
The realization hit Xiang Yu almost immediately. This was most definitely not his chicken tender. He turned his head and met Han Xin’s gaze, his eyes wide with surprise. Wasn’t it supposed to be Little Bai? In his bewilderment, he licked the tip of Han Xin’s thumb before abruptly letting go.
Han Xin withdrew his hand stiffly, staring at his thumb as if he was about to go off on Xiang Yu. The tension was palpable. Xiang Yu quickly pulled down his headphones, his voice hurried and apologetic. "I am sorry, it wasn’t on purpose."
Before Han Xin could respond, Han Zhan, who was losing without Xiang Yu’s support, called for backup. "Yu Yu, I need you! I’m getting slaughtered here!"
The scene turned chaotic. Han Xin, feeling a mix of irritation and confusion, quickly got up, leaving behind a bewildered Xiang Yu and a wailing Han Zhan, who had just died in the game.
Xiang Yu followed Han Xin’s retreating figure his heart pounding hard in his chest. He couldn’t shake the feeling of Han Xin’s thumb against his lips. It felt... good, really good. He wanted to take another bite.
