Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 449: Will you leave?
Chapter 449: Will you leave?
AN: I am so sorry. I took a sudden leave yesterday but I am back in business. See you tomorrow in the comments and thank you so much for your constant support.
The room was dim, shadows dancing along the walls, a sanctuary carved out from the chaos of the world outside. Han Xin lay on the soft quilt, nestled against Xiang Yu, wrapped in an embrace that felt like a fleeting dream.
He had told Sirius to wait twelve hours for this very reason. The urgent summons and the calls of duty... he ignored them all. At this moment, nothing mattered but the warmth of Xiang Yu beside him.
Xiang Yu’s chest rose and fell beneath Han Xin’s ear, steady and strong. The rhythmic thrum of his heartbeat filled the silence, a comforting drumbeat in the stillness.
Han Xin felt happy here, surrounded by the scent of Xiang Yu’s pheromones, a blend that was uniquely his. An arm tightened around Xiang Yu’s waist, pulling him closer as if to merge their hearts into one.
Xiang Yu’s hand moved gently through Han Xin’s hair, his fingers threading through with a tender touch. He pressed a soft kiss to the crown of Han Xin’s head, a silent promise in that gesture. Han Xin’s lips parted, words teetering on the edge of his tongue, but he hesitated. The moment felt too precious to disrupt.
"Yu Yu," he finally breathed, fingers grazing Xiang Yu’s solid chest. The name slipped out, imbued with a softness that hinted at deeper feelings. Xiang Yu, always attuned to him, responded with a gentle "Hmm," his voice a mere whisper in the quiet room.
Han Xin paused, the question swirling in his mind like fog. "When... when did you figure out my true identity?"
A small smile played on Xiang Yu’s lips, an expression both knowing and kind. "Did what Sirius say bother you?"
"No, it... I am just curious." Han Xin’s voice was steady, though a tremor of vulnerability underlined his words.
Xiang Yu sighed softly, the sound lingering in the air. "If I tell you, you wouldn’t believe me."
Silence stretched between them, heavy with unspoken thoughts. Han Xin’s heart raced, anticipation mingling with uncertainty. Finally, he broke the quiet, "I will believe anything you say."
Xiang Yu stifled a smile, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, his ring catching the feeble light and sparkling like distant stars. Han Xin shifted, positioning himself above Xiang Yu, palms pressed against the bed, hovering as if afraid that his lover would escape.
"You really want to know?" Xiang Yu asked, his voice low.
Han Xin couldn’t pull his gaze away, his eyes searching the depths of Xiang Yu’s. He caressed Xiang Yu’s cheek, a soft thumb brushing against stubble. A hunger filled him, evident in the way he bit his lower lip, a desire to mix with fervent curiosity.
It didn’t matter when or why Xiang Yu figured him out. The past felt like a distant echo in the shadow of their current reality. As long as Xiang Yu was by his side, as long as he wouldn’t turn away or betray him, Han Xin could accept anything. The thought looped in his mind, a mantra of reassurance.
But the question lingered, whispering a challenge he was unable to resist. A shiver travelled down Xiang Yu’s spine as Han Xin’s fingers glided gently from his chin to his neck.
The connection sent warmth radiating through him, igniting an awareness that wrapped around his heart. "I have known who you are ever since I came into this world," he said softly, his voice steady yet brimming with an intensity that made Han Xin’s brow crease in confusion.
Han Xin didn’t comprehend what Xiang Yu meant by "came into this world." It was a sentiment that danced just out of reach, a concept he could not grasp.
He had seen the change in Xiang Yu at some point, he knew that much, but the details remained a blur. Back then, he had been too consumed with revenge to give Xiang Yu the attention he deserved.
"I came here for you, Xin-ge," Xiang Yu continued, his gaze unwavering. "So I always knew who you were."
At those words, Han Xin felt his breath catch, a rush of emotions flooding through him. His heart raced, confusion mixing with something like longing. He had always been alone. He had lost his mother and father before he even had a chance to know them.
The only family he had kept their distance, fearful that revealing themselves would only bring him suffering. Even in his rebirth, he expected the same loneliness.
He had prepared to live this life like before, as he had in his past, never anticipating that he would fall in love with someone who should have been his enemy. It felt as if the universe was finally compensating him for all the hurt he had endured.
Seeing the silence envelop Han Xin, Xiang Yu smiled gently, a knowing glint in his eye. "You see, I told you you wouldn’t believe me."
Han Xin’s eyes felt sour, a moment of vulnerability shifting his demeanour. "No... I believe you." His voice was quiet but resolute, the words spilling from his heart.
Xiang Yu raised his hand, brushing his fingers through Han Xin’s hair. "Don’t you want to know where I came from? You already knew that I am not the same Xiang Yu."
Han Xin nestled his face against Xiang Yu’s palm, seeking the comfort of his touch. "Will you leave?" he whispered, the question heavy with unspoken fears.
"No, I won’t," Xiang Yu replied, his voice firm yet tender.
Han Xin leaned down, his breath warm against Xiang Yu’s skin. "Then it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. Just don’t leave me. Stay by my side."
Xiang Yu’s heart swelled as he stared into Han Xin’s beautiful eyes, filled with sincerity and a hint of desperation. "I won’t ever leave... I love you, Xin-ge."
Hearing those words, Han Xin’s heart raced, each beat echoing the truth he had buried deep inside himself. "I love you too, Yu Yu. I love you with every fibre of my being."
