Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 452: I won’t back down
Chapter 452: I won’t back down
Zeus stood tall, a formidable figure against the backdrop of stars. Its armour gleamed under the distant light, a stark contrast to the fierce red of Sirius’s mech, which hovered menacingly. Suddenly, the cockpit lit up with a transmission request from Sirius.
"What now," Han Xin muttered under his breath as he accepted the call. Sirius’s voice crackled through the speakers, sharp and taunting. "I never thought the imperial Lord of the Republic was a doormat."
Han Xin clenched his jaw, recognizing the bait. Sirius was still trying to plant seeds of doubt about Xiang Yu. It wouldn’t work. Silently, he steeled his resolve and opted for silence.
Sirius continued, his tone thick with malice. "From what I hear, he treated you like a slave." The words dripped with venom. "Made you take punishment for him? You couldn’t even walk for days? And here you are... dating him."
Han Xin felt anger flare inside him. He couldn’t stand anyone slandering Xiang Yu, not even his cousin. Sirius swung the red mech’s arm, a blade emerging like a flash of blood in the dark.
"He even fucked you! A powerful alpha like you was pressed down by him? Yet you forgive him for all the shit he did to you... Could it be Stockholm syndrome? Or are you just a masochist?"
"Are you going to fight or not?" Han Xin shot back, frustration bubbling to the surface.
Sirius chuckled, the sound echoing through the void. "I wonder how your people will react when they realize their Imperial Lord is weak and desperate for another alpha. You are willing to overlook his past crimes."
A fire ignited within Han Xin, and he was done with the mind games. He engaged his plasma cannon, the weapon humming to life. Without hesitation, he opened fire. A bright flash illuminated the darkness as the energy bolt shot toward Sirius.
But Sirius was quick. The red mech twisted, dodging with a speed that seemed almost unreal. "You are really angry!" Sirius laughed, his voice mocking. "Don’t take it out on me! You should be mad at your boyfriend!"
Just then, an explosion rocked the void. Sirius’s mech staggered, an unexpected hit striking true. His energy shield absorbed most of the impact, but the surprise flickering in his eyes was undeniable.
"Interesting," Sirius muttered, regaining his composure. He had the advantage of an assault mech yet he knew that this battle would not be as easy. He gripped the controls tightly, his resolve hardening.
pened fire, twin plasma cannons roaring like angry dragons. Brilliant bolts of energy lanced through the darkness, searing the void with their intensity. Heavy rail guns followed, striking with the force of thunder, accompanied by the shriek of missiles screaming toward Han Xin. Explosions erupted around Zeus as his energy shield flared with each impact, flickering but unwavering.
Han Xin was unfazed despite being aware of his disadvantage. Every shot taken by Sirius consumed vast resources and left his weaponry vulnerable during long reloads. Yet he moved with precision, countering each of Sirius’s attacks. With calculated grace, he manoeuvred to evade a barrage, each twist of his mech a testament to his skill.
Frustration twisted Sirius’s face behind his controls. He fired everything he had left—plasma cannons, rail guns, and missiles—unleashing a storm of fire. The energy shield of Zeus shimmered brightly as it absorbed the onslaught, becoming a fortress amidst chaos. Smoke and debris filled the space around them, but Han Xin remained unyielding, his gaze steady and cold as the stars.
When the smoke cleared, Han Xin’s smirk cut through the devastation. "My turn," he said, his voice calm and low.
With a flick of his fingers, Zeus opened fire, a rapid succession of explosive rounds streaking towards Sirius. Each shot landed with surgical accuracy, overwhelming Sirius’s defences.
The assault mech staggered under the relentless barrage, systems faltering. Han Xin pressed the advantage, his confidence growing with each decisive hit.
Sirius scrambled, trying to regain control as his mech plummeted towards the surface of the wasteland planet below. The grip of gravity clawed at him, dragging him down into the atmosphere. Just as he managed to stabilize, Han Xin’s Zeus appeared above him, a titan of metal and fury.
In a moment of pure determination, Han Xin descended upon Sirius like a hammer of doom. The impact was cataclysmic, sending shockwaves through the ground and forming a massive crater where Sirius landed. Dust and debris were thrown high into the air, shrouding the battlefield in a cloud of chaos.
As the dust settled, Han Xin stood tall amidst the wreckage, Zeus looming like a conqueror. Sirius lay buried within the crater, the assault mech rendered silent. Han Xin’s gaze hardened. He knew this wasn’t over. Sirius was like a cockroach, he was hard to kill.
The dust settled slowly over the battlefield, the remnants of the crater still smouldering from the fierce impact. Suddenly, the red mech blasted skyward, shards of debris scattering away as Sirius regained his footing. Blood trickled from his nose, staining his face as he locked his cold gaze on Han Xin’s towering form.
Sirius sneered, a dangerous glint in his eye. "You can only rely on your firepower. How weak."
In response, Han Xin’s mech, Zeus, drew a gleaming sword from its side. Bloodreaver, perfectly adjusted to its massive size. The blade shimmered ominously in the light, a promise of destruction.
With a roar, Sirius lunged forward, their blades crashing together with a resounding clash. Sparks exploded from the point of contact, lighting up the dimness around them.
The two mechs danced in a deadly rhythm, a whirlwind of steel and force. Han Xin met each aggressive strike head-on, his movements precise and fluid, while Sirius fought like a raging storm.
Sirius’s attack was relentless. He swung his blade with fury, but Han Xin countered with calculated strikes, deflecting and parrying with expert finesse.
Suddenly, with a powerful shove, Han Xin sent Sirius crashing into a dusty mountain. The earth shook, rocks crumbled, and the mech’s frame groaned under the impact, but Sirius was not finished yet.
Dazed but unyielding, Sirius pushed himself back up, shaking off the debris. He lunged once more, energy shield flickering, and swung his blade in desperation.
But Han Xin was ready. With a swift movement, he blocked the attack, but the strain shattered Sirius’s energy shield with a sharp crack. The sword flew from Sirius’s grip, spinning away into the dust.
Blood still trickling down his face, Sirius took a staggering step forward, eyes wild, driven by a crazy fervour. "I won’t back down!" he shouted, lunging at Han Xin with unbridled energy.
In one fluid motion, Han Xin spun Bloodreaver, its edge glinting in the light. He drove it into the exposed engine of Sirius’s mech. The metal screeched as it pierced through, and Sirius froze, a flicker of shock crossing his face as critical error messages blinked to life on his cockpit screen.
