Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Holy Shit!

"Status!"

Ding!

With that sound, a blue, translucent panel with white, royal-looking borders appeared in front of me.

────────────────────

[Name: Adrian Vaiself] [Age: 20]

[Race: Human]

[Class: Nobility] [Level: 1]

[Strength: 11] [Agility: 10] [Constitution: 11] [Mana: 6] [Intelligence: 12]

[Luck: 3/100] [Charisma: 28/100]

[Traits: pride (A), nobility (A), Composure (A)]

[Skills: Mental resistance (passive), Intimidation (active)]

[Stat Points: 0] [UC: 6500]

[Inventory: Treasure Chest (S), Watch...]

[System Store: Opened]

───────────────────

"Pathetic!"

This was the only word that came out of my mouth the moment I saw my status.

Don't look at those glittering A rank traits—they were useless in combat and only kept me calm and helped me act mighty.

"The stats are also all below average. I need to increase them first."

The average stat of a normal human was 8, and that of a level 1 awakened person was 12.

Naturally, this did not include their class's primary stats, which could sometimes even reach an average of 20 right after awakening.

"But even my primary stats are useless and pathetically low."

Intelligence and Charisma were my class's main stats, but even the only useful Intelligence among them was extremely low.

If my Intelligence were higher, I would still be a little satisfied since it was responsible for the senses, the brain's information processing speed, spell casting speed, etc., but it was also only average.

And the most infuriating, the fucking Charm, was only responsible for good appearance, and developing a favorable relationship with NPCs in the game.

It doesn't even work on monsters, real life humans, or players.

However, speaking of Charm,

"System, why is there a limit behind my Luck and Charm stats?"

Luck and Charisma were non changeable stats and could only be increased by equipping certain artifacts, which was another reason why this class was so trashy.

Therefore, it was surprising to see an upper limit behind them.

Fortunately, the system replied promptly and cleared my doubts.

[With UC, it is possible to upgrade the Luck and Charm stats to their upper limits.]

[Any further increase than the upper limit will require an appropriate advancement prop.]

[Caution: The cost of increasing these two stats is ten times more than increasing another stat.]

'Money grabbing, Capitalist fucker!'

While I was cursing internally, my facial expressions were unaffected on the outside, and with my Composure (A), I quickly regained my calm.

However, the news about changing unchangeable stats didn't bring me much happiness, because the number of Stat Points I would receive after each level up was still the same.

The number of free stat points one received after leveling up was equal to the number of changeable primary stats plus 1.

Subsequently, the free stats I would receive after leveling up were a measly two.

"There's no benefit in dwelling on things that can't be changed."

Having said that, I shrugged off my gloomy mood, looked at the Treasure Chest in my inventory—the one I was most eager to open—and sighed internally.

But before I opened it, I wanted to do one thing, which was to improve my bottom-touching Luck stat.

"System, increase my Luck stat by one."

[1000 UC deducted]

[Luck: 3 ? 4 ]

'Ah! My hard earned money!'

To think a mere increase of one point in luck would cost me 1,000 UC.

'Shit! I should have asked before increasing it.'

If the System were a person in front of me, I swear I would have seriously punched her so hard that her face would have exploded.

Phew~!

'Calm down, Adrian; there is no point in getting worked up about something that cannot be changed.'

Fortunately, my Luck was not on that unlucky number 3 anymore, and I was more confident now that I had spent 1000 UC on luck.

"System, open the Treasure Chest." I said in anticipation.

[Opening...]

───────────────────

[Congratulations! You got:

* Return Card x 1

* Lucky Draw x 1

* Trait: Mana Affinity (A)

* Quick Instance Card x 1]

───────────────────

The moment I looked at those rewards, I couldn't help but scream inwardly.

Holy Shit!

"Finally! A trait worthy of the great me."

Ignoring everything else, whose basic use I understood just by reading their names, and my own narcissistic comments, I focused only on a single reward.

'Mana Affinity, and that too of an (A) rank.'

It had to be noted that in the novel, only the Archmage Heroine Sylvia—The Witch Of Calamity—was the one who had the Mana Affinity trait, and that too was only (F) rank.

My plan was to make her increase the trait's rank to (S) in the late stages of the novel, but since the novel was never completed, the max she reached was (A), which already made her stronger than most players.

[Does the host accept the rewards?]

"Accept!" I said it calmly on the outside.

But inwardly, I was screaming with excitement.

'Accept, of course, accept it, you fucker.'

Even if it was trash, I would have accepted it.

Not to mention, this Mana Affinity (A), which was a real gem.

[All the cards have been stored in the System Inventory]

[Trait: Mana Affinity (A) has been successfully transferred to the host.]

Unexpectedly, it was a painless transfer, my eyes closed involuntarily, and I instantly felt as though warm water had been used to wash my body during the bitterly cold winter.

Slowly opening my eyes, when I looked at the world again, only one word came out of my mouth.

"Beautiful."

Just like Sylvia in the book, I could see Mana floating in the air.

It looked like vibrant stars floating in the air, shining with beautiful colors, shimmering and dancing, weaving intricate patterns that seemed to breathe life.

I could feel a newfound connection to these stars, which were like the very essence of this world.

"So this is what it feels like to see mana, all my 1000 UC were well spent on Luck."

In this world, players who had Mage, Archmage, Elemental Mage, Shaman, or any other Class that uses mana, actually don't have any affinity for it.

They don't actually go through the laborious process of using the mana to cast a spell with their own knowledge and control.

Instead, they merely use it to activate skills provided by the system, like using an on/off switch.

Therefore, the existence of Mana affinity was in itself a cheat like trait.

"Not bad."

Although my face remained the same because of Composure and Pride, as if getting these rewards was natural and no big deal, but my eyes couldn't help but tremble a bit in anticipation.

My heart skipped a beat when I considered all the future possibilities that had opened to me with the existence of this trait.

Good luck was on the rise today for me, and I was ready to make full use of it.

"System, use the Lucky Draw."

[Activating Lucky Draw]

Suddenly, a huge screen materialized in front of me, with one side displaying a five-second countdown and the other displaying a succession of names, scrolling rapidly.

[5... 4... 3... 2... 1]

[Bingo! Host won the skill: Stealth (Active)]

"Nice!"

It wasn't the type I was anticipating, but 'Stealth' was such a flexible and useful ability that I couldn't help but be pleased with my roll.

What followed that was a simple process of going through the other rewards, all of which were as I had anticipated.

'The Quick Instance Card enables me to travel to a world even if the world travel function was on cooldown, while the Return Card enables me to travel back to the main world while stopping the time of that mission world.'

However, the world I would enter with the Quick Instance Card wouldn't give out Treasure chests or other bonuses.

Instead, it would have a short story like the Tutorial World, and the reward in UC would be countless times higher.

After completely accepting everything that I got from the Tutorial, I was lost in contemplation about my future plans.

Fortunately, there wasn't much to think about because, with the existence of Villain Simulator and Mana Affinity, I quickly sorted out everything in my head.

Decided!

The path I would take in the future, and where my next destination would be.

"Magic Tower."

Speaking of which, since not much time had passed since the beginning of the Storyline, I could still do many things, and interfere in many events.

'If Rachael's 'rape' incident happened yesterday in the novel, and she ran away to her home today, then it will also be today when Sylvia gives the entrance test to the Magic Tower.'

Suddenly, an excellent plan was formulated inside my head, and a meaningful smile appeared on my face.

"Interesting!"

It was morning, and Sylvia gave the entrance test to become a member of the Magic Tower in the afternoon.

"There's still some time left, I can still manage it."

But before that,

"System, increase my Mana to 50."

[4400 UC deducted]

[Mana: 6 ? 50]

Suddenly, I could feel the energy coursing through my vein.

With my newly boosted Mana, I grew more confident in my plans.

Now I was completely ready.

I wonder what the expression of the arrogant Archmage would be when she's trampled by me and becomes the laughing stock of the world.

'Hehehehe...'
