With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods-Chapter 1064: Versus five dungeon cores (3)
In a different place, there was a wolfman that was leading a group of beast people through a forest.
This was another part of the battlefield and the place that these beast people were the most comfortable in.
This was the place where they could use their full powers since that was what their abilities allowed them to do.
But even then…
"You haven't found anything? Even with our sharp eyes, ears, and noses, you all haven't found a single thing?" The wolfman said in a sharp voice.
The other beast people revealed awkward looks, but it wasn't as if there was anything that they could say to appease him.
That was because it was just like he said.
Even though they had done what they could with their heightened senses, they hadn't been able to find a single thing. It was as if the enemy just didn't exist at all with how few traces there were.
It was as if they were the only ones that were here.
After a long silence where the wolfman didn't say anything, there was a tigerman that finally said, "Perhaps they really aren't here? There are other biomes on this battlefield, so they might be there instead of here."
This did seem like a logical explanation, but…
"So you're saying that in this forest that covers more than half of the battlefield, you couldn't find a single trace of the enemy? And now you're even trying to use the excuse that they were never on this battlefield to begin with?" The wolfman said in a dark voice that sent a shiver down the spines of the beast people.
The others glared at the tigerman who was one of the dimmest among them before they started giving their explanations as well.
It was just that the wolfman really wasn't in any mood to listen to them.
Raising his hand, he cut them all off before saying, "If you don't find them within the hour, then I'll personally teach you a lesson."

Bitter looks appeared on the faces of the beast people, but they didn't doubt his words. They had known him long enough to know that the wolfman was serious when he made threats like this.
So the only thing that they could do was follow this order and spread out to search again.
But when the hour passed, the wolfman had an angry look on his face.
That was because he found that not a single one of the beast people had come back to report to him. Even though he had told them to come back on the hour, it seemed like all of them had disappeared.
"Every single one of them…useless!" The wolfman said under his breath as he impatiently waited there. But in the end, he couldn't take it anymore and went to search for his subordinates.
It didn't take him long to find his subordinates, but they were in a state that he didn't expect to see at all.
They were sprawled out on the ground in the middle of the forest, as if they were taking a nap.
Only the moment that the wolfman saw this, he knew that it wasn't that simple.
He knew how well trained his men were and what kind of resistances they had, there was no way that they would actually sleep on the job. For them to be knocked out like this, there was no doubt that there was something around that had caused this.
It was just that no matter how the wolfman looked around, he wasn't able to find what he was looking for.
It really didn't seem like there was anything that had caused them to fall asleep like this.
That was until the wolfman himself started to feel tired.
It was this small sensation at first, but it didn't take long for it to become stronger and stronger. Eventually, it was so strong that the wolfman even felt that it was hard for him to keep his eyes open anymore.
"So this was how you did it…" The wolfman said to himself, but really he didn't actually know what he was talking about. Even though he said this, he didn't actually know what it was that was causing him to feel tired like this.
In the end, the wolfman couldn't resist that feeling of exhaustion anymore as he collapsed on the ground as well.
The last thing that he saw was something that seemed to be flashing in the sky.
It was faint, but it seemed like there was something floating there.
What he didn't notice were the moths flying around them.
…
"My hero unit is dead!"
"My subordinates aren't answering at all!"
The dungeon cores had very ugly looks on their faces when they heard these two outbursts.
The forces of these two dungeon cores had been sent out since they thought that this was more than enough to deal with the enemy, but they never expected them to be taken out like this.
Adding in the scouts that were taken out first, that meant that they had less than half of their original troops left. This was the last thing that they ever expected to happen when they sent out their troops.
They thought that their hero units would be more than enough to deal with the enemies…
But it turned out that they had lost these hero units…
"Just what is happening out there?"
That was the only thought that passed through the minds of the dungeon cores when they saw what was happening.
However, it also made them much more cautious.
They knew that they wouldn't be able to do the same thing as before and if they tried, all that would happen is that they would leave their base defenseless. They had already fallen for the tricks of the enemy, so it was the last thing that they could do.
But there was the fact that they still had to take down the enemy…
If they couldn't even leave their base, then how were they supposed to fight the enemy?
The dungeon cores just didn't know what to do at this point…
"We have to do this in the end, it's all for Big Sister Haku!" One of them suddenly said in a determined voice that filled the others with determination as well.
When it came to Haku, there was nothing that they held back.
They would do anything and everything possible just for her.
After gritting their teeth as if they were coming to a decision, one of them finally said, "We send out everything except for one hero unit to defend our core. As long as we have one hero unit, they won't be able to do anything."
It seemed like there were some doubts, but that was soon alleviated by them saying, "It's for Big Sister Haku."
It seemed that this was all that needed to be said to convince them as they nodded in agreement in the end. It was just that they still had their doubts even though they nodded in agreement.
The one hero unit that they chose to remain was one that was specialized in defense. So once all of the other units left this place, the one that was specialized in defense immediately set up everything.
With the way that things were set up, it didn't seem like the enemies would have a chance to even approach their base.
Of course, the dungeon cores weren't planning on letting that happen since they were planning on taking down Lin Fan and Rokuko with their final units.
It was just that no matter how they searched the area, they weren't able to find a single thing.
The same thing happened where no matter how hard they searched, they just weren't able to find a single thing. It was as if the enemy just didn't exist in the same place as them.
It really seemed like they were all alone on this battlefield.
"How could this be?"
"A rat has been found?"
One of the dungeon cores suddenly asked the spider hero unit that was guarding their base. This spider hero unit had created webs that had spread out all over the base, so they would be able to notice any little thing that happened.
There wasn't a single part of the base that wasn't covered in this net, so it was impossible for anything to sneak in.
Normally, they wouldn't care about a rat since it was below them.
Only when they thought about it, they found that it was strange that there was a rat here in the first place.
The place that they were currently in was the battlefield that had been created for this dungeon battle. It wasn't a place that actually existed, it was a place that had been created with the power of the God of Magic, Weiss.
So it wasn't as if there was an ecosystem in this zone in the first place.
There definitely shouldn't have been things like rats and such that were here.
"It has to be the enemy making a move." All of the dungeon cores suddenly came to this realization.
However, they had come to this realization too late.
"What do you mean the rat burst into flames?" The dungeon core asked the spider hero unit in a shocked voice.
It wasn't just a single rat that burst into flames which lit the webs. There were many different rats that suddenly charged into their base from many different directions, all of them bursting into flames after entering their base.
In a matter of minutes, the entire base was filled with flames.
