With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods-Chapter 1085: Rumours of dragons
After Amy calmed down, they finally got down to business.
"These are the reports on the monsters that you wanted." Amy just slammed the stack of paper down on the table without a single care.
It was as if she was venting her frustration by throwing these sheets of paper down.
Sirius on the other hand came forward to help catch the pieces of paper that were thrown into the air from Amy slamming it down.
Amy looked at Sirius as if she was unhappy with this, but that look disappeared when he looked up at her. She went from that unhappy look to a smile that was the exact opposite of the look that she had previously.
Lin Fan just ignored all of this as he started looking at the stack of paper that had been put on the table.
It didn't seem like there was anything interesting about these reports at first judging by the look on his face. But then in the middle of it, his expression suddenly changed as if he noticed something.
Raising one of the pieces of paper, he asked, "Is the information here reliable?"
Amy and Sirius turned to look at the piece of paper that Lin Fan was holding up and they couldn't help slightly knitting their brows. There was also a trace of curiosity that was in their eyes as they looked at this.
After all, they were curious about why Lin Fan was asking about this.
In the end, it was Amy who answered, "Does it really matter? This is just one of the types of monsters that are out there, so it isn't as if it really matters if this is true or not. It's not as if this rumour will actually have any effect on the plan."
This was true, but it didn't seem like Lin Fan was planning to give up on this matter.
After all, while this wasn't something that was related to the plan, it was something that Lin Fan was personally interested in.
That was because this was a report on a dragon sighting.
The reason that he had been sent here in the first place was because he was supposed to work with Amy on disrupting the economy of the Kalos Empire.
The way that they were supposed to do this was to control the monsters in the surrounding area to attack the merchants that traveled the roads.
By disrupting the supply lines in the Kalos Empire, it would harm the overall economy of the Kalos Empire.
As such, it was important to pay attention to the monsters that were in the surrounding area.
Only since they were planning on using monsters to disrupt these supply lines, it wasn't as if they had to use specific monsters. As long as these monsters were strong enough to defeat the guards of the merchant caravans, it would be enough.
That meant that there was no need to follow up on rumours about dragons.
But for Lin Fan, it was personal because of one thing.
It was because of Hayase in his Pet Storage Space.
He had already thought about finding Hayase's family since Hayase was from the magic continent in the first place.
As for why he wanted to find them, it was all because he wanted to see if he could get some inheritance for Hayase.
As long as he could make Hayase stronger, it wasn't as if there was anything to lose.
However, dragons were illusory creatures in the first place.
Because of the power that they possessed, they didn't care about interacting with people. They spent most of their time keeping to themselves and avoiding contact with humans.
So it wasn't a simple thing to find these dragons, much less meet them.
The only thing about dragons that Lin Fan had found so far was this one report related to dragon sightings.
Though he thought that if Haku wanted, there was no doubt that she would be able to find information about dragons with the power of the Laver Empire. It was just that he couldn't actually ask her about it since he knew that she wouldn't actually help him.
In fact, she might even impede him if she knew that this was something that he was interested in.
That was why Lin Fan had to search for the dragons on his own.
"I'm interested in it, so I want to investigate. All I need from you is whether this rumour is trustworthy or not." Instead of bending a knee, Lin Fan chose to use a strong method.
But all that happened was that Amy narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan.
With the way that she looked at him, it was almost as if he had suddenly challenged her.
Sirius had an awkward smile on his face before suddenly standing up to get in between the two of them. Raising his hands to stop them, he said, "Now, now, there's no need to get worked up. Let's all calm down and talk this through."
It really looked like Amy didn't want to, but since it was Sirius who was saying this…
She sat down with a displeased look on her face, but she didn't say anything else.
Sirius let out a sigh of relief before he went over to the side to bring something over.
When he set it down, Lin Fan found that it was a plate with some cake on it and a cup of tea.
Amy just ignored Lin Fan once Sirius brought that plate of cake and cup of tea over. She just went to town on that plate of cake and just ignored Lin Fan as if he didn't exist.
Lin Fan didn't care about this as he looked at Sirius.
Sirius didn't say anything as he took the piece of paper to take a closer look at it. After looking for a bit, he said, "It should be quite trustworthy. The one that submitted this report is one of the higher ranked adventurers registered with our branch, so his word should be trustworthy."
With the way that he was acting, it really seemed like he was the guild master instead of Amy.
In fact, Lin Fan also seemed to find Sirius more trustworthy compared to Amy.
So after Sirius said this, he took the report back and looked it over a bit longer before finally saying, "I'll go take a look at this."
Then before Amy could actually say anything, he added, "I know that there's no need to do this, but this is a personal matter that I want to take care of."
Amy narrowed her eyes to look at him, but she didn't say anything in the end.
In the first place, the plan to hurt the economy of the Kalos Empire was a long term one. So it wasn't as if there was anything to lose from letting Lin Fan do what he wanted for a bit.
In fact, they might even gain something since the economy of the Kalos Empire was already pretty bad.
From what the five dungeon cores had been doing, the economy of the Kalos Empire had already started to stagnate. The effects of their work had spread quite far across the Kalos Empire, so there was not much that could be gained from doing the same thing.
If they waited until the economy recovered a bit and then did this, it would have a much greater effect.
But Amy didn't seem happy to let Lin Fan do what he wanted to do.
Before she could say anything, Sirius suddenly said, "Alright, I'll come with you. I know the surrounding area, so I'm sure that I'll be able to help you."
"What about our dungeon?" Amy suddenly said as soon as Sirius' voice fell.
Sirius calmly explained, "It'll be fine if I leave for a bit."
"No, you're the boss monster. If the boss monster isn't here, then there's no doubt that our dungeon will become weaker." Then in a softer voice that almost seemed like she was pleading with him, "What will I do if you're gone."
Sirius revealed a faint smile when he heard this.
He knew that Amy wasn't actually worried about the safety of the dungeon since there were still plenty of other things that had been prepared. Even if he as a hero unit was gone, there would still be plenty of other things to defend her if things went wrong.
He knew that she was just acting selfish because she didn't want him to leave her.
But still, he said, "It's just for a few days. I know that you can handle it for a few days."
Amy looked like she was pouting when she heard this.
Lin Fan shook his head with a sigh when he saw this, but he didn't say anything as he let the lovers settle this matter between them.
It took a while, but Sirius was able to convince Amy to let him go in the end.
Once he was done, Lin Fan said, "Alright, I'll count on you then."
Sirius' eyes lit up when he heard this before he said with a nod, "Not a problem, just leave things to me." ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Amy glared at him as if he was stealing Sirius away from her, but Lin Fan didn't care as he started planning out where they would go.
Sirius quickly showed his abilities as he helped Lin Fan plot out their route.
When it was done, Lin Fan couldn't help giving a nod of praise towards Sirius.
It really seemed like Sirius was the guild master rather than Amy.
