World-saving Plan: The Only Savior-Chapter 649 - 491: Tree Gate (Two in One)_2
Chapter 649: Chapter 491: Tree Gate (Two in One)_2
At least the conditions necessary for human survival must be achieved before it can serve its purpose as a transit station.
However, the development of the Original Realm will consume a large amount of his Star Dust, and it was clear that the small amount extracted daily was nowhere near enough; he would have to spend points to exchange for more.
This was undoubtedly going to be a large investment.
Once he had dealt with matters here, Zhang Xiaoman withdrew the Star Guard’s summoning.
The Moon Base below was now protected by a Shield, and with the defense of the strangling vines, even if they encountered the same insect swarm as last time, they would be able to easily hold off the attack.
Now, all that was needed was to wait for a month or so, for the World Tree to complete the environmental transformation of this place.
By then, he would be able to send personnel to be stationed here, and could even establish the research lab right here.
After completing all this, the next step would be Master Liu’s matter.
Zhang Xiaoman summoned a Star Shining Saint Knight and then took out the stored Awakening materials, beginning to inscribe the Enlightenment Array.
By now, he was capable of drawing the array without Lin Sisi’s help, as the newly summoned Holy Knight was fully capable of handling the painting task.
However, considering the importance of ceremonial feeling, he still chose to assign this task to Lin Sisi when conducting Awakening ceremonies for Star Alliance members.
And so, Master Liu’s Awakening ceremony began.
The entire process went very smoothly without any surprises, as Master Liu’s entire right hand was being suppressed by Zhang Xiaoman’s Dark Energy Shock, making it impossible for him to break free from the Enlightenment Array.
As expected, the thing that Master Liu feared the most was the scene of his wife’s—Zhang Xiaoman’s grandmother’s—death.
But it seemed that Master Liu’s spiritual power was rather good.
Zhang Xiaoman felt that even if he hadn’t used the Dark Energy Shock to help him, Master Liu would have likely succeeded in Awakening by his own Strength.
This further confirmed something for Zhang Xiaoman.
That was, among ordinary humans, most people’s spiritual power grew with age.
For instance, Ye Cang, Su Fu, and others like them, the older they got, the higher their chances of successful Enlightenment, and the shorter the time required.
In contrast, many younger individuals, aside from a few with strong wills, tended to get mired deeper during the Awakening process, and took longer as well.
After helping Master Liu complete his Awakening, and arranging for him a set of beginner equipment, Zhang Xiaoman took advantage of the remaining time to provide some basic explanations.
If Master Liu encountered any problems after returning, he could ask Ye Cang or directly contact Zhang Xiaoman via the wrist device.
From then on, Master Liu had finally transformed from an old charlatan trekking the Martial World into a person truly possessing Extraordinary Power.
...
Five days later, Ero.
In a small village located 275 kilometers from Guldegai.
This was a place called Hachitu Tuur Village, a little village that couldn’t be found on any map.
There were many other villages like this in Ero, mostly in remote environments with poor living conditions; Qiquituk Town, where Jannan used to live, was one of them.
However, Qiquituk Town had completely changed from before and could no longer be compared to such places.
After Jannan agreed to use the Nukasha Treasure for the environmental transformation of Qiquituk Town, a team from the Star Alliance began developing the area.
Despite facing difficulties due to environmental factors, the development went on smoothly thanks to Jannan’s financial strength.
On the other hand, small villages like Hachitu Tuur Village were not so fortunate.
Dryness and desolation remained the dominant theme here.
Walking on the streets, you might not even see a single pedestrian, as no one wished to venture out in such weather, which would undoubtedly accelerate the loss of their Physical Strength.
At this time, four outsiders stepped onto the land of this place.
Top-notch equipment, immaculate clothes, everything seemed terribly out of place in the surrounding environment.
"Hey! Guys, isn’t it a bit too quiet here?"
A man wrapped in a headscarf with dark skin spoke up.
By his side were two men and one woman, his teammates, now walking down the streets of Hachitu Tuur Village.
After voicing his concerns, the black sniper Ciro found it hard to bear the heat.
He took out a bottle of water from his backpack, gulped down a few mouthfuls, then found an eave to sit under.
"Hey, brothers, I think we should stop and ask around for some information. Carrying on aimlessly just isn’t getting us anywhere," he said.
Meanwhile, the others stopped in their tracks as well.
Clearly, like Ciro, they had reached a temporary limit in their physical strength and needed to rest.
"I really can’t fathom why that Sizar guy would choose to live in such a remote place. If it weren’t for the terrain making it impossible for the vehicles to get here, we probably would have completed the mission by now," Weiss grumbled as he opened his backpack and began checking the remaining supplies.
"I’ve got four biscuits left, only 1700 milliliters of water, and with this weather, we’ll probably last only half a day more," he reported.
The team’s bomber, Anna, also checked her own supplies and added:
"I have five biscuits and only 1500 milliliters of water left. We must find the target within 4 hours, otherwise, we’ll have to head back, unless we manage to find a water supply from the local residents."
"I agree..."
The one speaking was Mikel, the man with a stoic face, still as unsmiling as before.
And so, a sniper, a bomber, an intelligence officer, and Weiss, their captain skilled in assault, the four members of the Wildfire Team were all together once again.
After having a simple lunch, Weiss was the first to stand up. He clapped his hands, addressing the others:
"Alright, break’s over, everyone buck up. According to the information we have, Sizar is nearby this village. All we need to do is find him, and we’ll have completed half this mission."
His words acted like a shot of adrenaline, instantly invigorating the somewhat disheartened group.
"Heheh, Weiss, honestly, I’m quite grateful for this Sizar guy. If it weren’t for the clues he provided, we might be stuck participating in that damn Awakener test," Ciro said with a shudder.
Weiss nodded, replying:
"To be honest, that Bell really is a devilish instructor. The intensity of those tests was almost unbearable. I doubt even us seasoned hunters could’ve succeeded, let alone those newbies."
Anna said with curiosity, "Huh? But I thought I heard that two kids passed the test this time? Their names were Aaron and Bena, I think."
"That’s right, I know them. They’re the crazy ones who train like there’s no tomorrow. Just two little freaks, just like their instructor!" Ciro interjected.
The group chatted idly, cleaning up the traces of their lunch as they conversed.
"Let’s go. I heard there’s an inn up ahead where we can find supplies and inquire about Sizar’s whereabouts," Weiss said, prompting the team to start moving. Unfamiliar with the environment and with the so-called inn lacking any sign, they searched for a long time without any luck.
"Something’s not right, this is just too off," said Anna, looking around at the closed doors of the surrounding houses, her face full of confusion.
In the time that had just passed, they had tried to ask the locals, but every door was closed and the town was eerily silent.
If it weren’t for the sounds of human activity they heard inside some of the houses as they passed by, they might have thought they’d arrived in an uninhabited ghost town.
