Chapter 50: The One Loved by Chaos

Noel yelled in anger. He took his sword, charging at the Golem to finish it off. Riven looked up, seeing Noel run in that recklessly. "Noel, stop!" he yelled, but his brother wasn’t listening. He jumped into the air and stabbed down at the golem.

The golem suddenly moved its arm and slammed into Noel so hard that he shattered several ribs and sent him flying into a wall.

Noel slammed against the wall and coughed up blood. He fell down to the ground, barely moving, his breathing was forced and short.

"Shit, Noel." Riven tried to push himself up. He fell down, but tried again and got to his feet. He carried his sword and tried to do the same thing that he had done before, but he immediately suffered a heavy backlash from the lack of Mana and fell to the ground, coughing out blood.

"Fuck," he cursed in anger. He tried again, pushing himself up. He took out his health potion, but he only had one more. If he used it, he didn’t have any to give to his brother.

He placed the potion back into his inventory and pulled out a vitality potion. He slowly drank it and gained some energy. But even with renewed energy, he was still injured and broken. The pain still shot through his body, making him feel like dying.

To add salt to injury, the golem began moving. It started dragging itself up. When Riven saw this, he began to panic. "No, no, no, no."

He forced himself back up to his feet. He held his sword and tried to charge in again, but his entire body jerked in immense pain, as if the world went black for a moment.

He coughed up another huge amount of blood and fell to his knees. The golem had gotten up on one foot. It turned around and stared at Riven, and then swung its hand, slamming Riven right in the chest again.

Riven flew through the air like a ragdoll. He hit the wall and fell down unmoving, only his eyes were open, as he watched the golem walk toward his brother.

His consciousness slowly faded. He fought against it, but his body was shutting down.

"It can’t end here. I’ve come so far. Please." His voice went lower as he spoke, and slowly he was about to pass out, but then suddenly, he bit into his lip and sent an unusual sharp pain through his nerves. Despite the fact that he was already in pain, this sharp pain knocked him awake immediately.

He didn’t know how long this would last, but it was enough to attempt saving his brother. He pushed himself one more time, beaten and bleeding. He gripped his sword and readied to attack. As he stood on his feet, a sudden system notification came up.

[You have awakened a new title: The One Loved by Chaos]

[The One Loved by Chaos: The user has been a magnet to all sorts of chaos since he came to this world, and it has earned him the title of The One Loved by Chaos.

This title will attract death-level threats to the user frequently, hoping to destroy the user. This title gives the user a twenty-second window of invulnerability and impossible strength compared to his body, in order to survive the chaos if possible.]

Riven read through the notification at the speed of light. He made sure that every piece of information got into his head, and he analyzed his situation in an instant.

He was getting fucked in this world, but luckily, the title didn’t come without any perks. He closed his eyes and thought about using the title, and then suddenly, he felt a surge of strength. He felt like there was nothing in the world that could stop him now.

"Thirty seconds, right? Let’s use that to the max," he said, gripping his sword in one hand. He took one step and vanished.

The stone golem felt that something was wrong and turned to look at Riven, but he was no longer there. Then all of a sudden, it felt a presence, and then a sword followed, coming right for the head of the golem.

The golem tried to react and block the sword, but the sword vanished again, and Riven appeared behind him.

"You are not blocking this," he said in a calm voice. His eyes carried blood-red light. His sword moved from down below, heading up in a smooth arc.

The golem couldn’t react fast enough. The sword smashed through its side with killer precision. Immediately the cut was landed, Riven vanished again. He appeared in the air above the golem and stabbed down at its head.

The golem managed to see this attack before it landed and used its arm to block it. The sword stabbed through the arm and completely obliterated the arm as Riven twisted the sword.

The golem roared and threw a punch right into Riven. He shot through the air and slammed into the roof of the dungeon, but he immediately shot out like an arrow, faster than the golem could see.

He passed the golem and landed in a superhero stance. He smirked, and a huge slash appeared on the golem’s chest. He had moved so fast that he cut it before the golem could even react.

Shocked by what had just happened, the golem took a few steps back, but Riven was already behind it. In panic, it turned around and punched him into the ground, but all it hit was an afterimage, as Riven was already up in the air.

He raised Twilight over his head, and with an evil grin, he slashed down at full force. His sword dug into the back of the infernal golem and sliced down until it came out through its butt.

As his feet touched the ground, he bolted again, slashing off all the hands and legs that remained and causing the golem to collapse to the ground, utterly defeated—but not yet dead.
