Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Chu Hao Showing Off

"We’ll divide the supplies once we get back home. You can choose what you need the most or we can divide all of them equally then you can exchange with someone else what you need." Chu Miao suggested when she saw the new members looking like they had seen a ghost.

She understood them. Even though she grew up with the knowledge of space bags and space rings, it still amazed her when she was a kid.

Therefore, she couldn’t judge them for being bumpkins. They just nodded without saying much.

Actually, as long as they got some food that could sustain their lives, they weren’t choosy. After all, they had nothing to begin with and it was only with the help of Chu Miao and the others that they managed to get some supplies.

They were actually surprised to hear Chu Miao say that they would divide the supplies equally. She had expected them to take the larger share. Not expecting such fairness, especially in the apocalypse where it was the rule of ’every man for himself and the devil for us all’.

When the group walked back into the shop, they headed to the kitchen. They thought that there might be some other supplies there as well.

The kitchen was a mess with fallen bowls and broken plates. It looked like some people had left in a hurry when disaster struck, causing some chaos.

But this didn’t matter as they searched the cabinets and took any loose supplies inside. The gas cylinders in the kitchen were also disconnected from the ovens and taken too.

"Do any of you need a gas stove?" Chu Miao asked because she didn’t want them to carry bulky things that would never be used. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"I need it. We were used to cooking with electricity and the last few days since the electricity went offline completely, we have been surviving on soaking instant noodles in cold water until they soften.

It’s challenging, especially to feed our son such uncooked food while he is sick." Zhao Lu was the first to step forward and reply.

Seeing the gas cooker and knowing that they had taken at least three gas cylinders, he was overjoyed. If he took one cylinder and a gas cooker, at least the rice and flour they found could be cooked.

His son won’t have to suffer from so much malnutrition any more. Moreover, having a hot meal in this weather could improve their health.

He felt sorry for his wife. She had become thinner and sallow due to lack of enough food. Whatever they have, most of it goes to their son.

So, it’s not surprising that the two of them would suffer from malnutrition.

"I will take one too, but it looks like there are only two. Chichi, do you need a gas cooker?" Yang Leo also expressed his need for a gas cooker, but then remembered the girl who lived alone.

What if she also needed a cooker? There was only one left.

Before Chichi could reply, Chu Hao interjected, "Don’t worry, these buildings house several businesses that used to deal with food. I am sure we will find more cookers, so there is no need to feel burdened.

Even if you want more than one cooker, we can get them."

When they heard what he said, they relaxed. Indeed, if they could get more than three, then there was no need to worry about not having a cooker or being able to cook hot food.

"Too bad we don’t know what types of shops are on the first and second floor, if there are restaurants or food-related shops, they might have more gas cylinders.

If each person gets at least two cylinders, they can put their worry about cooking fuel for several months." Yang Leo said as he sighed in regret.

"We can still go down and check. Isn’t it just diving to the first and second floors? We can do it." Chu Hao said with pride when he heard Yang Leo talk about finding more supplies below that water.

"How can we go down? Not to mention the problem with visibility limiting what we can see underwater, we can’t hold our breath long enough to find something useful." Chichi said with a defeated look.

Seeing her depressed look, Chu Hao wanted to show off and of course, puffed up his chest and boasted, "I have everything you need for diving, why would you fear going underwater because of something as insignificant as being unable to hold on. Unless you don’t know how to swim."

"Of course I can swim. When you say you have everything, what do you have?" Chichi asked again with curiosity in her beautiful eyes.

"I mean everything." Chu Hao replied as he took from his space swimming goggles, oxygen tanks, and waterproof clothes.

It looks like he was always prepared for any eventuality.

Chu Miao and Ye Xuan just looked at Chu Hao showing off and looked away. How embarrassing, making it look like having these simple things was an achievement.

When the new members witnessed this scene, they were indeed impressed. It wasn’t every day you see someone so prepared no matter the circumstances.

Each of them took a pair of equipment and went to look for a place to change.

In fact, they could only use the store room and kitchen.

Chichi went into the store room and locked the door to change while the others walked into the kitchen.

Ten minutes later, they came out dressed in waterproof diving gear.

"Let’s go out, you guys can use the stairs to go down and investigate. See what you can find and if possible, move it upstairs." Chu Miao said as she asked Chu Hao to give them night vision goggles which he seemed to forget to provide while showing off.

She also scanned the entire building and made sure that there was no human or zombie in the building before opening the door to the corridor.

Everyone walked out and looked at each other. Yang Leo, Zhao Lu, and Chichi all headed to the stairs to start swimming to the bottom of the stairs and find the door of the shops on the lower floors.
