Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 192: Searching Underwater
Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Searching Underwater
Chu Miao wasn’t sending them down to chase air. She had used her divine sense to check every corner of the building and she knew that under water were some valuable supplies.
There were indeed some gas cylinders and even rice, noodles, and other supplies packed in waterproof packages. Even though they had been underwater for a while, these supplies were still intact and usable.
Thus, she saw no need in leaving them behind.
"Brother, why don’t you wait for them here and help them pull up any supplies they find? Ah Xuan and I will go check out other shops in the building. This way, we could save some time." Chu Miao suggested after thinking for a while.
Even though they could fight and didn’t have to worry about staying out here for too long, their families couldn’t contact them and would worry if they didn’t return for too long.
"Okay, you guys can go and check out other places. I’ll wait here." Chu Hao agreed immediately.
He wasn’t worried too much about his sister. She was even stronger than their whole family combined. Moreover, with Ye Xuan by her side, there was even less to worry about as that guy would die before he let her get hurt.
Therefore, he agreed to his sister’s suggestion with a complete peace of mind.
Chu Miao and Ye Xuan walked to the next shop on the third floor.
On the other side, Chichi, Yang Leo, and Zhao Lu had split up once they made it to the second floor. Luckily, all of them were good swimmers. And what made their search even easier was the fact that most of the shops were left with the doors open.
With how rushed people were to escape and save their lives when the apocalypse started, there was no time for many people to think about closing and locking the door.
This had become an advantage for them because opening a locked door underwater would have been almost impossible. Maybe the leaders upstairs could open them, but asking for help for every little thing would just prove how useless they were. Then, why would the leaders still let them join the team?
Therefore, they were happy that the doors weren’t locked.
Chu Miao had said that they didn’t have to worry about getting attacked while searching underwater. They didn’t know how she could determine the absence of danger, but if she said so, then they should believe her.
They had all witnessed her strength and it was obvious that what they saw was only the tip of the iceberg. Thus, they didn’t have to worry about her making a mistake in her judgement. They trusted her word.
The first shop Chichi entered was probably a grocery store. There were all types of rotten vegetables and fruits floating in the water. Even though most have already been washed out, those locked in shelves were still there.
She didn’t leave immediately because of this. She knew the principle of appearances could be deceiving. Thus, she still swam inside and checked every corner of the shop.
As expected, in one of the shelves there were packages of waterproof noodles that were still in good condition even after being in the water for days. There were also self-healing meals packaged in waterproof bags.
Some packets of instant rice and water bottles were also floating inside the shelves.
Since the shelves were closed with glass doors, she could see everything inside through the goggles and waterproof flashlight worn on her head.
She knew that if she opened the door, those things inside would scatter. Therefore she couldn’t open it casually. Moreover, she wasn’t even sure she could open the door.
She turned around and swam around the shop to look for something that could carry these supplies. She needed something she could use to catch them to stop them from escaping once there was an opening.
Looking around, she couldn’t find anything. However, her eyes fell on the rice bags soaked in water and piled on one side. They could be used. Thus, she went to the counter near the door and started to pull drawers with extreme force to look for something that could be used to open the sacks, and possibly, the glass shelves.
Opening the drawers wasn’t a small matter either. It took her ten minutes to open the first one and apart from some soaked money and coins inside, there was nothing useful.
She struggled to open the second drawer and the results were also demoralizing. She didn’t find anything she could use. She was losing strength because even though she had eaten earlier, those were just snacks. What’s more, she hadn’t eaten for two days before that and hadn’t had a proper meal for weeks.
Her body no longer had the stamina it had before. But thinking about the food in those shelves, she knew that she had to suck it up and continue to work harder.
After opening the third drawer, she was lucky. There was a pair of scissors inside, a small hammer with a silicone handle, and other small tools.
She didn’t bother with the rest and just took the scissors and hammer. Swimming back to the sacks of rice, she cut an opening on the upper side of the bag on top and then let the rice spill into the water.
When it was almost empty, she pulled it from the bottom and held it upside down. The rest of the rice spilled too. Now with an empty bag, she headed to the shelf with the noodles and other foods in waterproof packages again.
She looked inside and knew that even if she filled the rice sacks, she couldn’t take everything. She felt that it was a loss because these things will probably scatter.
However, she consoled herself by thinking that at least she got something. Moreover, she could come back and check if she could collect the floating packages. No need to give up. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Thinking of this, she lifted the hammer with some difficulty and brought it down on the glass. It felt like it was bouncing back. As if she had struck a rubber ball. She had not expected breaking the glass to be so difficult even with the right tools.
