Ashes of a Fallen Legacy-Chapter 50: What Truly Happened [2]
Chapter 50 - What Truly Happened [2]
- Sigh
"What a tiring day..."
Zane was resting on his table, feeling exhausted of all the things that had happened while he was in the academy.
Zane's last class had just recently ended, and it was time to go home. But, he felt too lazy to get up.
Zane was simply resting on the table before him, while the others were going out of the lecture hall.
Seeing as Zane wasn't leaving yet, Vale thought that this was his chance to ask what was truly going on. Since earlier he didn't really have the time to ask any questions to Zane, as he was too busy with his academic task.
Although they didn't really do anything special today, all those written works and theories was enough to exhaust them mentally.
"Hey, Zane. Don't you think it's about time you really tell me everything?"
Hearing Vale's voice, he turned his head towards Vale, he then said:
"I thought I told you already, the reason why I went to Ironveil yesterday and didn't comeback the other day was because I passed the trial, and because of that, I had to moved to the main castle."
Vale stared at Zane for a moment, he then said:
"I didn't mean that, I mean how did you become that strong in a short amount of time?"
He paused, then added:
"Back then, when I first saw you do an advance spell at the training ground, I thought that you simply managed to do that because of your enchanted mana. Well, I only thought of that because others also did. But, now, I don't think it was simply because of your enchanted wand, Zane."
Zane remained silent for a while after hearing Vale's words.
He didn't really know how to say it. He had been trying to find the right words to explain it to Vale for a while, but no good excuses would just come out from his head.
"Vale... wanna do some physical training with me outside?"
Vale's expression was full of confusion. Was he trying to change the topic?
"Huh? Well, yeah of course."
...
Zane and Vale was now wearing their physical activities outfit.
Zane was currently stretching, while Vale was behind him, looking at him strangely.
Moments afterwards, Vale also joined in and started stretching, getting ready for his exercise.
"So, aren't you going to say something, Zane?"
Right after hearing Vale's words, Zane stopped stretching and looked towards Vale, he then sighed, and said:
"Uh, well. Vale, are you willing to believe whatever I'm going to say?"
Hearing Zane's words, Vale couldn't help but stop stretching and looked towards Zane as well. He then said:
"Well, I mean it depends."
Zane paused for a moment, he stared at Vale for a while, he then said:
"Well, come with me for a second."
Hearing Zane's words, Vale paused for a moment, he then nodded and followed Zane.
Heading to a nearby seat, they sat down.
"You see, Vale. You remember the time when I passed out from mana drainage and went back to Ironveil? That time... I actually discovered a secret from that castle."
Zane paused, he then added:
'Would he believe my lies?'
"The first thing that I did when I went back to the castle was to go and read some books from our library. And coincidentally, I grabbed an ancient looking book. Suddenly, that book started to glow like hell, and started to disintegrate."
He paused once again, and added:
"It turns out that I was cursed, and that curse was it would steal most of my mana, and that ancient looking book somehow removed my curse. And now, I pretty much have all my mana back."
"..."
"S-sorry... what?"
Vale stared at Zane with a dumbfounded face.
"Oh, would you like me to say it again?"
"N-no, actually nevermind."
He paused, then added:
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom for moment."
With that, Vale ran off, heading to the males bathroom.
Zane meanwhile, was looking at him blankly. Naturally, he expected this reaction. So, he wasn't really that surprised. Atleast he wouldn't have to hold back when he is around Vale now.
Sighing once again, he stood up and headed to an empty space.

There wasn't really that much people on the training ground, since it was already the end of the class. So, only Zane remained.
After heading to the spot where he had been in earlier, he started to perform a bunch of exercises which Velrath had taught him back then.
Speaking of Velrath, he was nowhere to be seen, since he went out earlier. Saying that he was gonna stroll around again.
'Velrath has been out often than before. What's he up to lately?'
Although Zane was quite suspicious of Velrath's behaviour, he casted out the thought for a while, focusing more on his training.
It's been almost half an hour since Zane started his exercises. Yet, Vale hasn't comeback.
'Was it really that shocking?'
However, Zane didn't really mind it that much. I mean if he was in his situation, he would be just as shock too.
Zane simply focused on his training.
Zane's body had gradually improved since the first time he had done his exercises. His numbers had also increased as well. This made Zane kind of proud of himself, as he was finally seeing progress of his hardwork.
Moments afterwards, he was finally done with his exercises.
Now, it was finally time for the real deal.
'Swordsmanship training.'
The true reason why Zane wanted to learn swordsmanship was because, he wanted his body to be flexible. Not only that but also to increase his agility, speed and reflexes.
On top of it all, was his durability. He wanted to improve his endurance, as well as his durability to make sure that he would really last long in his duel with Arlo.
Zane then took out his wand, and imagined it as his sword. Then he started imitating the steps written on the manual he had practiced yesterday.
Focusing on his footsteps, his body movements, he swinged his wand as if it was his real sword.
And as he did, he caught one of the individual who had been training as well. Someone Zane quite knew.
"Zane?"
He paused, then added:
"Oh wow, Zane. You're practicing swordsmanship now?"
Hearing a familiar voice, he looked towards the figure beside him. His eyes widened, he then said:
"Kael?"
