Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse-Chapter 254: The Entire Fucking Universe
Chapter 254: The Entire Fucking Universe
"You good there, Little Lamb?" asked Tank softly as he took my hand and led me through the crowds around us.
"Just thinking," I replied, my head no longer in the Carnival.
"About planets and aliens?" he chuckled, rubbing the top of my head and messing up my ponytail. "You don’t need to worry about them."
"I don’t?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. "You know the future now?"
"Hardly," Tank snickered. "But something tells me that if they have been around for a long time and we haven’t heard anything about them until now, they aren’t interested in us."
"I suppose," I sighed. I still think it would be fun to meet an alien or two, but I wasn’t about to leave my territory and go into theirs. Now, that just seemed like a bad idea. Anal probing really wasn’t my thing.
"Besides, you have enough humans and zombies to deal with here," continued Tank as the rest of the guys ran to catch up.
"Don’t forget the demons," I called out, a smirk on my face. In fact, there were significantly fewer humans in the western Hemisphere than originally thought, thanks to those little seeds falling from the sky.
But humans weren’t completely wiped out either. After all, Max was still completely human, as well as whatever humans were inside a building when it started raining demons.
"Oh, trust us," purred Désiré as he swept in and picked me up. Flinging me over his shoulder, he burst out laughing as he raced forward. "No one ever forgets about the demons."
----
"What do you think?" Désiré asked as he gently put me down in front of one of the rides. It was a carousel of some kind or another with horses and sleighs... but unlike the ones I had seen only on TV. This one was different.
Each one of the horses had sharp teeth and blood-red eyes as they stared at each and every one of the audience on the outside. The people that were currently on the ride were hanging on to the poles for dear life as the spinning increased in speed every time it completed a full turn.
Coupled with the fact that the horses were actually trying to take a bite out of the riders, I couldn’t wait to get on.
"How long is the wait?" asked Désiré as he approached the Carnie manning the ride. "We want on."
"The ride never stops," smirked the greasy man as he looked down at me and Désiré. "It’s up to you to find your own way on and off."
"And the people who are already on it?" pressed Luca, coming up to stand behind me.
"It’s been hundreds of years since any newcomers have tried to get on, let alone off," laughed the man as if we had told the greatest of jokes. "But if you want to test your luck, go right ahead. Just don’t say that Clem didn’t warn you."
Shrugging my shoulders, I spun away from the guys and jumped onto the carousel. I stumbled a bit as the force of the spinning meant that I hadn’t landed exactly where I thought I was going to, and I was forced to put my hand on one of the horse’s hindquarters.
The animal, a beautiful black one with a white saddle and red eyes, twisted his head and snapped at me, trying to take my hand off while he was at it.
"Stop that," I snapped at him, smacking him on his soft nose. "Someone as cute as you should have better manners than that. No snapping at friends."
For a second, the horse reared back, looking at me in shock before narrowing his eyes on me. Lifting up his front leg, he struck out, trying to hit me. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Unfortunately for him, I was bound and determined to ride him before Daddy and the others got on and made me get off. Grabbing his silken mane, I swung myself up into his saddle and got comfortable.
If I thought that the horse was personally affronted before, it was nothing like how he was looking at me now. I could feel the bloodthirsty aura coming from him, but I ignored it. "If you wish for it, I’ll take you with me," I whispered in his ear as I leaned against his neck. "It has to suck going round and round for all eternity."
The horse’s eyes rolled back in his head until all I saw was the whites of them. "How about this: nod twice for yes and once for no. Wanna come home with me? I can put you in Teddy until we get back to the house and then I can build a place all your own. How does that sound?"
Letting out an ear piercing whinny, the horse frantically nodded twice and I couldn’t stop my smile. "Deal accepted," I purred in his ear just as I was snatched off the horse by Dante.
"Are you trying for the position of Daddy Two?" I grumbled as he held me in his arms. "Cause I wasn’t doing anything bad. Look! I already made a friend!"
The moment I stretched out my hand and touched the black horse, he disappeared into my space, breathing a sigh of relief.
"You didn’t do anything bad?" replied Dante, deceptively calm as he came to stand at the edge of the carousel. Pointing in front of him, I just caught the furious look on Chang Xuefeng’s face before we were spun away from him. "And just how were you planning on getting off? Because as far as I can tell, this thing will let you on, but there is something keeping you on it."
Rolling my eyes, I let out a long sigh as I rested my head on Dante’s shoulder. "Silly Sin," I smiled at him. "Did you forget who I am?"
Dante shook his head. "Just because you are Lucifer, it doesn’t mean that the world will bow down to your desires."
"No," I disagreed with a shake of my head. "That is exactly what it means. And not just the world but the entire fucking universe."
