Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 109: Abigail’s Calmness Shattered
Chapter 109: Abigail’s Calmness Shattered
’What on earth does this man want to do? Is he trying to lock me in here? Is he crazy?’ Abigail wondered, her heart racing in shock as she watched him approach her unhurriedly. His expression seemed calm, but his lewd gaze sent shivers down her spine.
Abigail could guess what this evil Kian might do. She tried to stay calm while thinking about her escape from the room.
The closer Kian got, the more nervous Abigail became. Now, she regrets leaving her bag in the locker. She didn’t have her cell phone or the Swiss Army knife she usually carried in her bag.
Her hand hung at her side, curled into a tight fist. Anticipating what this man might do made her anxious.
"Kian, what do you want? Why did you lie to me?" she asked, struggling to keep her voice steady.
She worked hard to maintain a calm demeanor before him, but her slightly trembling voice gave her away. His lewd smile and intense gaze only increased her anxiety, making her feel as if her blood ran cold.
Instead of answering her, his smile grew wider, adding tension for Abigail.
Kian spoke softly as he stopped two steps from Abigail.
"Do you know what, Abigail? From the first time I saw you, I was instantly attracted to you. I don’t know what it is, but something in you makes me want to stay by your side and get to know you more." He paused for a light smile when he saw her face slowly turn red.
He knew she was utterly mad now, but looking at her crimson cheeks made him even more want to own her. She looked so cute.
Abigail, "..."
"But I’m disappointed in you, Abigail. During our two meetings, I could sense that you were avoiding me, even discreetly despising me. I can tell, Abigail... I am smart. Why don’t you like me, huh? Did I do something wrong to you?" Kian asked with visible insistence.
Before Abigail could respond, he added, "You don’t have to answer me now, but I want you to know I’m genuinely interested in you. GENUINELY."
’What the hell! This scumbag, how could he express his interest in me when he is now in an intimate relationship with Lana? Has he gone crazy?’ Abigail couldn’t help but vent her frustration inwardly and feel sorry for Lana.
Now, all the oddity she felt when meeting this man for the first time clearly showed in her eyes.
"Kian, thank you for taking an interest in me. But... I’m really sorry, I’m not interested in you. I already have a boyfriend whom I like and love with all my heart," Abigail said sincerely, though she felt nervous about what Kian might say next.
Suddenly, Kian’s laughter echoed in the room. He shook his head and replied, "Don’t try to lie to me, Abigail. Lana told me you just called off your engagement with your fiancé a few weeks ago. That’s why you started working here."
For the first time, Abigail felt disappointed in Lana. How could she share such personal information about her failed relationship with Ryland? She had intended to keep that story to herself, and now this man knew about it.
Holding back her anger, Abigail could only grit her teeth and shoot a glare at Kian.
"Am I right?" he asked again.
Abigail ignored Kian’s question and instead asked, "Kian, did you have a romantic interest in Lana? How can you express your interest in me, too? Did you know I’m friends with Lana?"
Kian smiled widely, rubbing the back of his neck while keeping his eyes fixed on Abigail.
"Now I doubt what you’re saying. If you are friends with Lana, you should know I don’t have a relationship with her. She is single, and I am also single. I have the right to be close to another woman, don’t I?" he said, a teasing smile emerging on his lips.
Abigail was speechless at this man’s shamelessness. She knew Ryland was shameless, but this man could’ve been Ryland’s ancestor. He was the most shameless and arrogant man she had ever met in her entire life.
’Heaven! Why do I always get involved with people like this? Are you trying to test my patience to deal with it?’ Abigail tried to hold back her anger and her urge to give this man a hard slap.
"Yes, I know! Friends with benefits... You are only interested in having sex with her. And you know what, Kian? In my eyes, you are a scumbag!" Abigail didn’t want to hear his nasty words again. She needed to leave this place as fast as possible.
Kian faintly smiled, hearing her angry words. Instead of being offended, he found her amusing. He gently responded, "You are right, Abigail. Lana is my sex partner. But we didn’t share a love interest... you know that, right?"
Abigail’s patience was running thin. She no longer wanted to deal with this man, hearing his nonsense.
"I’m not interested in discussing your love story. Move aside, Kian. I want to go home now," she glared at him. However, she failed, as Kian didn’t move aside; instead, his eyes looked more lewd, staring at her.
’Damn it!’ she cursed.
"Why so rushed, Abigail? No one is waiting for you in your house. While we can do something fun here...?" Kian said while slowly moving ahead and trying to grab her hand. Still, Abigail instantly took a few steps back, avoiding him.
"Stop right there, Kian Blake! I will scream if you try to do something funny to me!" Abigail threatened coldly.
"Oh, Abigail, do you really think they will hear you? This room has excellent insulation; no one could hear a voice coming from this room. I’ve tested it. And don’t even bother trying. No one is around here. I’ve already told Erica and the others to go home..." His wicked smile slowly framed his lips. "Only us in this café, Abigail. Us alone!"
Instantly, Abigail’s calmness shattered. Fear began to overtake her as she imagined what Kian planned to do.
