Captive Mate BL-Chapter 479: + - +
Chapter 479: +Chapter 479+
Angelo woke up to an empty bed, he pushed his hair out of his eyes and spat out a few strands, narrowing his eyes at a certain Mafia King who insisted on him leaving his hair down no matter where they were.
Nikolai’s absence wasn’t surprising, it was relieving if anything because it meant he could put his hair up. It was already mid-morning when he woke up and for the first time in his life he was reluctant to get out of bed.
His body was still deliciously sore and Nikolai’s scent lingered in the sheets. He lazed around for a few more minutes and then got out of bed, his hair already in a loose knot behind his neck.
Wearing nothing but a bathrobe, he walked to his previous room. It had been completely cleaned out, and Angelo couldn’t exactly say when. He grabbed a hoodie and loose pants, and returned to the new room to clean up and change into proper clothes for the first time in days.
Angelo didn’t intend to stay in either of the rooms, interested in a room closer to the living room, so he wouldn’t have to walk such a distance to get to his room. Besides choosing a new room, he had other plans for the day.
He had worn hoodies and loose pants for so long because it made him blend into the background better. It wasn’t really great for his job, especially for someone like him who didn’t use guns. Not to mention, the bulky clothing restricted running and scaling walls.
He wasn’t an assassin anymore, but he wasn’t hiding either, not with his scent out in the open, so it was time for him to get new clothes. Preferably something form-fitting with easily accessible straps so he could keep his weapons.
Angelo left the room fully dressed, walking down the hallway in search of a suitable room. He found one with ease, it was spacious and lavishly decorated just like every other room in Nikolai’s apartment, and it was just down the hallway from the living room.
After customizing the room to his tastes, which involved covering up the mirrors, he made his way to the living room, deducing that Mafia King Nikolai wasn’t in the apartment. It didn’t matter either way, because Angelo hadn’t been planning on doing much that day, he was still recovering after all.
He just wanted to get clothes and maybe make a call to Silvia to help him get some knives delivered to the penthouse apartment. As soon as he opened the front door, he was greeted with a duo of Nikolai’s men, apparently waiting for him to show up.
"The boss said to bring you to the casino," The men immediately went on high alert at the sight of him.
Angelo made a face, that would ruin his plans. "No." He refused calmly, "Can I borrow one of Nikolai’s cars?" He asked instead.
The men couldn’t hide their looks of horror fast enough, the one that had spoken speaking again with hopeful expression. "Would you like to drive there yourself?"
"No," Angelo repeated again, just as calmly. "I’m not going to the casino, yet..." He tagged on. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go but that he had something to do before then.
"Actually, nevermind," He brushed off the request he had made earlier. He wouldn’t be able to pay at the store even if he did get a ride, so he would have to go down to Silvia’s company regardless.
He could just call her on the landline to give her a heads-up and have her pay for the cab when he got to Frequency. With that decision made, he stepped back and closed the door in the mens’ faces.
A quick phone call later and he was back outside the door, Nikolai’s men looking far calmer than they did the first time.
"The boss said you can take a car," The second man cleared his throat to say.
Angelo hesitated, a car would make his journey easier and he was coming back to the apartment complex anyway. So he nodded, accepting the offered vehicle. He had already told Silvia that he would be coming in a cab, but he could just explain things when he got to the company.
As he walked down the hallway, the men followed behind him. Angelo didn’t bat an eye at this, heading for the stairs out of habit. The men followed closely as well, a car already prepared for him in the parking lot.
He drew curious stares from Nikolai’s men but it was clear that it had nothing to do with his secondary gender and everything to do with everything else. His attempt to assassinate Mafia King Nikolai hadn’t been a secret, but not only was he dead, he had regained his freedom and seemed to be living in the penthouse.
Angelo got in the car and drove out of the parking lot, a steady gaze on the rear view mirror. Although, Nikolai’s men were discreet, Angelo could tell instantly when he was being followed. He knew it was Nikolai’s men because he had picked up on them tailing him ever since he left the parking lot.
He ignored it and focused on getting to Frequency, he had no issues with Nikolai keeping tabs on him, he would do the same if he were the Mafia King.
Silvia was waiting in the parking lot of Frequency when he got there, her tall secretary standing right next to her. He felt a little guilty as he parked, he had made Silvia wait outside for him.
His boss didn’t even seem to notice the obvious change in plans, a smile on her beautiful face as she took him in. "You really came."
Angelo felt sheepish, "I’m not a prisoner anymore," He reminded her for the umpteenth time.
Silvia acted like she didn’t hear him, "You said you wanted to go shopping?" She reiterated like she still couldn’t believe her ears.
"I do but I don’t have any money with me." Angelo placed his hands in the pockets of his hoodie.
