Chapter 200: Chapter 200

Mission Hall...Early in the morning...

Aaron arrived first at the mission hall, and waited outside.

The previous night, he spoke with Erika to take on missions outside, which would be the best way to grow, especially because the danger level is increasing day by day.

They needed to be strengthened through battles, not become flowers in a glasshouse, which is what would happen if they stood behind the protection of the academy all the time.

When Aaron proposed the idea to Erika, she thought for a while before agreeing to it, but just two is not sufficient. So, they decided to include Diana, who is the only friend they have available.

Diana accepted the proposal. It was when they spoke to wait outside until all three arrived, and that’s what Aaron was doing at the moment.

---

Aaron was not the only first-year student present at the mission hall. A few appeared, but a lot of first-year students are not daring to go on missions. freewebnoveℓ.com

It was less than a year ago that they had awakened. They are not ready to take on such responsibilities.

In the school, the students were taught how the Awakener academies work.

The first two years were supposed to be a protection period for the newbies, while the next two years are a semi-protection period. Only when they graduate would they face the true terrors of the world, or if their luck was bad, they would face them beforehand, like the talents that die in the hands of envious people or cults who fear their potential.

The academies did that because they lost a lot of talents who are naive or stupid.

They believed in the wrong people or thought that they were strong only after awakening, and walked into their deaths. The alliance lost a lot of potential help like this. So, they implemented a method where the young and naive ones would see the truth of the world.

Just because they can defeat monsters in the dungeons doesn’t mean they can defeat the same type of monsters outside.

The monsters in the dungeons are not real monsters. They are but a pale imitation of the real ones. The real monsters are far more dangerous than the dungeon monsters, which many forget about in the wild and would act recklessly.

To avoid unnecessary deaths, academies implemented such a scheme, but at the moment, that scheme has faltered.

No one has foreseen that such a scenario would arise in the future.

Since it has already happened, they only rectify and prepare some contingencies after this mess was cleaned up for future troubles like that.

One would only learn from their mistakes.

While Aaron was waiting for the girls, a first-year boy spotted Aaron waiting at the entrance.

It was not weird, as almost everyone in the first year, even senior year students, knows who he is. Being top of the year in the entrance exam and later top in the Inter-academy tournament made in popular among the academy students.

Though there are some people who are envious, there are many who are his fans, making him one of the famous people in the academy.

So, a first-year student recognising him was not strange, but because of what the boy did next.

"Did he come here to take a mission? Hmm, young master might want to know the details. If I relay this information, then I would get some rewards", the boy smiled to himself, but suddenly that smile stiffened.

"No, let’s confirm whether he was here for that or not. If I relay wrong information,...I can’t let that happen to me", the boy shuddered as he remembered something from the past.

"Let’s wait and see what he does. After I have every detail, I will report it to be on the safe side", the boy decided and disappeared into the crowd, finding a shadow corner, from which he observed Aaron.

It didn’t take long for the boy to know why Aaron was waiting at the entrance.

He saw Aaron wave at two girls who were at some distance,e and the girls waved back at him.

"Hmm, I know those girls. They are Erika and Diana, two of the five that went for the tournament", the boy muttered, as he continued his observation from a distance.

---

"Hey", Aaron greeted the girls as they arrived.

"Hey", the girls greeted him back.

"Let’s see what missions are available. We are not the only first years who thought to take on missions. So, let’s hurry", Aaron spoke to them/

The girls nodded in agreement and went inside.

Though Aaron thought about why they arrived together, he didn’t think that it was more important than the missions. If they delay here for useless reasons, good missions may be gone, and they have to take waste missions or return to their dorms and do what they have been doing from the start of the year.

With the world becoming dangerous, they don’t have the luxury of slow growth. They need to see what was happening out there and face them to grow faster.

The missions that would be given to them would let them be prepared for the dangers that they would face later. It was why the three decided to take on the missions.

With the dangers increasing, they didn’t want to get caught off guard.

Getting caught off guard could end up dead or their loved ones, which they couldn’t let happen, no matter what.

---

Seeing the trio enter the mission hall, the young boy who was watching them from the shadow entered the hall as well.

The mission hall looked similar to Student Resource Center, with six counters, where a mission is registered or submitted after completion.

Today half of them are absent, which was due to the lack of students who usually took those seats.

Normally it was the stduents of Crafting professions wo work at the desks, as they can’t go outside to complete missions, but they need resources to craft products which would improve their levels. So working at the counter was the only yway to get the resources they need.

Now it was different due to some emergencies. They are busy crafting items due to the wars happening simultaneously. The alliance sllocated some resources for the best crafters to make items for the alliance.

In this way, the crafters would save time and improve their levels, while the alliance would get the items quickly and cheaper than before.

Missions are posted on boards across the hall. The students can select a mission post, and then register the quest with one of the worker at the counters. The next time they need to be here would be when they complete the mission.

So, even if there was a less number of workers, it didn’t cause many problems.
