Even If I'm Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem-Chapter 4Book 6: : Determination
Book 6: Chapter 4: Determination
“But… what do those things have to do with your delayed awakening?” Luna still couldn’t understand.
If those outsiders were threatening Lilith, shouldn’t Ciel return to her side to protect her sooner?
“That’s because… don’t you think the queen of dragons was acting strange at that time?”
“Strange?” Luna thought for a moment before replying, “I don’t think so. Since those outsiders were after Lilith, from her perspective, it was reasonable to kill them all. Although the process was bloody and brutal, I don’t think the queen of dragons should have cared about the number of humans that died.”
“No, that’s not what I mean,” Ciel shook her head. “I’m talking about before all that. Why would she allow us to enter that deity’s dream world?”
“Perhaps… she was just careless and didn’t notice your actions?”
“Impossible. After dealing with the queen of dragons so many times, I understand that this world is like her toy, completely under her control. Lilith is almost always under her watch. There’s no way she didn’t know that Lilith had accidentally entered the deity’s dream realm, and it wasn’t like she couldn’t stop it. She let it happen on purpose. She let Lilith temporarily leave this world so that the outside world would notice her.”
“But why would she… do that? If the queen of dragons really wanted something from Lilith, wouldn’t it have been better to keep her hidden and secretly carry out the plan? Why expose it on purpose?”
“I… don’t know. But there’s one thing I’m sure of.” Ciel clenched her fists with a determined expression.
“If the queen of dragons wants to accomplish something or obtain something through Lilith, then this plan… must already be in its final stages.”
“Final stages…” Luna murmured thoughtfully, looking down for a moment before a sudden realization dawned on her. “So you are thinking of…”
“That’s right. No matter what the queen of dragons is planning, I must destroy it. That’s why I didn’t interfere with Lilith this time. Instead, I let her go free, letting the queen’s plan unfold. And then…”
Ciel grinned wickedly.
“I’ll step in at the most crucial moment, completely destroy the queen’s evil plan, save Lilith, and then appear before her as the savior. I’ll capture her heart, and we’ll live together forever in a world of our own!”
“Hey, hey, the second half of your plan seems a little unnecessary,” Luna remarked, raising an eyebrow.
“But…” Ciel’s voice softened, and her expression grew somber again. “The most important part is… I still don’t have the slightest idea what the queen of dragons’ evil plan actually is.”
“……”
“Do you think… I’m a useless person for spending so much time and not even figuring out something as important as this? If I wasn’t so incompetent, Lilith could have been saved a long time ago.”
“…Don’t say that. The queen of dragons is simply too powerful. After all, she’s an existence who has lived longer than you,” Luna said softly, trying to comfort her.
“Yes, the queen of dragons really is a terrifying existence. After being beaten by her so many times, I still can’t figure out exactly how powerful she is… If only she didn’t exist.”
“Without her, Lilith wouldn’t exist either, right?”
“I guess you’re right…”
“……”
After a long silence, Ciel suddenly raised her head. Her demeanor had returned to normal, as if the fragile woman from just moments ago had been nothing but an illusion in Luna’s mind.
“I won’t lose. I will save Lilith.”
“Well, I believe in you, Ancestor. With my share of support, you must save Lilith,” Luna said seriously.
“Definitely.” Ciel nodded gently.
After saying that, Ciel turned her back to the screens, her eyes vacant as if she were gazing beyond them, into the distance.
She hadn’t expected that, after awakening, she would have so much to say. Though she knew the one who had awakened her was her own descendant—a little girl who couldn’t help at all—Ciel had still told her everything, all of it.
Perhaps it was the result of nearly a thousand… no, almost a million years of pent-up loneliness and isolation.
She had once told Lilith all this, but… Lilith had refused to believe her.
“Chris!”
“Yes, Miss Ciel?”
“How’s it going over there?”
“It’s still under control.”
Chris, the little robot, darted to the bottom of the screen where a keyboard sat. With its flexible mechanical arm, it began typing away noisily on the keys.
The image on the screen flickered, and a dense white fog obscured the view.
As the fog cleared, a horrifying sight appeared before Luna.
In a vast lake as clear as sapphire, a massive serpentine monster emerged, its hideous head rising from the water. The head was the size of the island beside it, and each scale was as large as a giant elephant, gleaming with a cold, ghostly green light.
Behind the serpentine head, there was what appeared to be a mane, reminiscent of a lion’s, swept up by gusts of wind. As it fluttered in the air, a closer look revealed that it was not a mane at all, but a strange collection of fish, connected by long, thin silk threads. The fish writhed in the air, their huge mouths opening and closing, revealing rows of hideous teeth.
“What is… that?” Luna murmured, her eyes wide with shock.
Though she considered herself well-read, she had never seen such a monstrous, terrifying, and strangely disgusting creature in any of her books.
“Hehe, Greenie seems to have grown quite a bit.”
Ciel let out a soft chuckle as she gazed at the creature on the screen.
“Greenie?” Luna’s cheek twitched. She pointed at the monster, which had to coil itself up just to submerge into the lake, and asked, “It’s definitely green, alright… but how can you call this… little?”
“Oh, when Lilith and I first found it, it was the size of chopsticks. It was indeed little.”
Looking at Greenie on the screen, Ciel waved her hand. The image of a cute Greenie snake appeared in her hand. It was indeed only as thick as a pair of chopsticks and smooth as jade, without the monstrous bristles that it now had. It liked to shake its head, and its tail wagged as quickly as a puppy’s, looking very energetic.
Ciel Hesse smiled with a hint of nostalgia, but there was also a troubled look on her face.
“It was so cute back then. I didn’t expect it to grow into this… thing after a few thousand years. It’s no longer cute at all.”
Luna’s eyelid twitched. “Wait, no. This isn’t just about it growing bigger.”
It had grown into something entirely different!
“But… wouldn’t you feel a lot safer seeing Greenie like this now?” Ciel asked softly.
“Well, I guess… It does feel safer if it’s on our side,” Luna replied, smiling wryly.
“Exactly,” Ciel replied proudly. “Our Greenie is amazing! It used to be able to eat more than Lilith!”
“Heh…”

It could eat more than Lilith huh…? No wonder why it had grown so big.
“But…” Ciel signaled Chris to zoom in on a specific part of the screen.
The image was zoomed in, focusing on a young girl in a black robe, hovering in the air, her expression unreadable as she stared at Greenie…
Ciel’s expression turned serious in an instant.
“This outsider… is completely different from the ones I’ve encountered before.”
“She’s an outsider?” Luna asked, her eyes narrowing as she looked at the black-robed figure.
It was at this moment she recognized her as the little girl named Myre, whom she had met in the previous round of the tournament—the one who had been on the same team as Estelle.
“She’s been taken over. And the entity that’s taken control of her… is very dangerous.”
