Chapter 888 -775: Hydra’s Plan

Through Ling Weizimo’s words, Ye Zi learned all the detailed plans of the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent. After listening to Ling Weizimo’s narration, Ye Zi let out a long breath. This plan by the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent, once fully understood, Ye Zi realized it wasn’t a plan with a hundred percent success rate. There were too many variables. Any slight transformation could lead to the entire plan failing, and if this plan failed, it would mean the end of the universe. Although all the people involved were doing seemingly unimportant tasks, these changes in many details could bring about drastic changes in the final outcome.

The plan of the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent is as follows. First, he himself will go to the Fallen Tomb and manipulate some details to ensure the Pioneer’s resurrection ends in failure. Then he will personally guard the largest part of the Primordial Honor’s spirit, which is that little monkey in the Fallen Tomb. Before this, he ordered all Annihilation Nine Headed Serpents he could summon, requiring these clansmen to use any means necessary to bring Ye Zi and Ye Wu to the Myriad Demons Country.

At this time, before Ling Weiyang and the Pioneer perish together, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent didn’t know of Ling Weizimo’s existence. Thus, his initial plan was indeed to let the tribesmen of the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent attack the Myriad Demons Country and obtain that one Elixir Spirit Pill with brute force. However, Ling Weizimo’s appearance greatly increased the success rate of his plan. Ye Zi and the others not only avoided a direct battle with the Myriad Demons Country but also obtained the Elixir Spirit Pill. Not only that, the most important part of Ling Weizimo’s appearance was not giving Ye Zi the Elixir Spirit Pill, but sending them to that special space.

That special space is a crucial ace of the Primordial Honor, yet before the Primordial Honor had the chance to reveal this ace, it had already been taken away by Ye Zi and others. The spirit in the space, that pale azure figure, took the Primordial Honor millions of years to create. As an insurance measure against his plan’s failure, the Primordial Honor, as a high-level authority holder of the Fang Universe, would never allow himself to fall into a desperate situation. He surely prepared an escape route long ago.

That pale azure figure is truly the gathering of countless spirits. After the battle of Ancient Times, when the Pioneer and Underworld Venerate fell and secretly plotted their resurrection, the Primordial Honor knew his robbed spirit was targeted by the Pioneer and Underworld Venerate. Although he was quite confident in reclaiming that spirit, there’s still a chance of failure. If it fails, and others acquire the spirit, he would lose all opportunities. Hence, at that time, he introduced a very special bug from his universe to this Fang Universe.

This bug is called the Soul Devouring Insect. The Primordial Honor cultivated some people specifically to rear and breed these bugs, eventually letting mature Soul Devouring Insects slowly invade some small worlds, stealing people’s spirits without anyone noticing. Soul Devouring Insects are not organisms of this Fang Universe, hence are hard to be detected, and the people of this universe haven’t reached the level to perceive their own spirits. Only some truly gifted individuals can barely touch upon the level of spirit. Thus, the Primordial Honor’s plan was very successful. In the ensuing time, the appetite of the Primordial Honor grew larger. Small worlds, Intermediate worlds up to High Level worlds, rapidly expanded the population of the Soul Devouring Insects to an indescribable extent.

This large number of Soul Devouring Insects gathered more and more spirits for the Primordial Honor. Although each person’s spirit might be small, the sheer number of Soul Devouring Insects made up for it. Back in the Pangu Realm, Sun Wukong defeated the Tathagata Buddha, one of the people under the Primordial Honor who bred Soul Devouring Insects to gather spirits for the Primordial Honor. The Ancient Primordial World is one of those High Level worlds whose spirits have been completely taken. The Soul Devouring Monk of the Ancient Primordial World, due to his special constitution, experienced mutations after the Soul Devouring Insect entered his body and took his spirit, eventually becoming a physique that can devour anything now.

Precisely because of the mutations by Soul Devourer, he was almost the first in the Ancient Primordial World to discover they lost their spirits, hence both he, Cheng Qian, and the Domain Lord Xuan Qianzi went to the Illusionary Bug Domain in search of their stolen spirits. Unfortunately, the spirits collected by the Soul Devouring Insects weren’t brought back to the Illusionary Bug Domain, but kept in another more secret space. Thus, Soul Devourer, Cheng Qian, and Xuan Qianzi failed. However, although they didn’t find the spirits of Ancient Primordial World people, by staying too long in the Illusionary Bug Domain, they acquired the characteristics of the Soul Devouring Insects.

Of course, this is a bit off-topic, let’s get back to the main story. Ling Weizimo sent Ye Zi and others to that Mystic Space, granting them not only the power of spirit but unlocking the memories in Ye Zi and Ye Wu’s minds. According to the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s plan, Ye Zi and the others would bring the Elixir Spirit Pill and head to the Fallen Tomb. The entrance to the Fallen Tomb was already prepared by the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent. Under the influence of destiny forces, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent foresaw Sun Wukong’s failure and even his death in the future. This is inevitable, meaning regardless of manipulations or designs, Sun Wukong would be defeated by the Primordial Honor. The only difference is whether Sun Wukong would be killed. If killed, that would be the end; if not, there’s still a possibility.

At this time, another link in the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s plan began to play its role. This link is Xing Tian. Xing Tian, along with the other Twelve Ancestral Witches, came to the Fallen Tomb. On the surface, he, like all other Ancestral Witches, was controlled by the Primordial Honor. But this control by the Primordial Honor has failed on some special individuals, like Tang Sanzang. Tang Sanzang broke free from the Primordial Honor’s control by self-transcending using the Transcendence Bloom. Xing Tian, with even greater arrogance, broke through the Primordial Honor’s control by sheer desire for combat. Xing Tian is known as the War God, and battle is everything to him. Anything unrelated to battle is insignificant to him. So, when he received the Primordial Honor’s order to have all Ancestral Witches protect Hou Yi, Xing Tian resisted and broke the control.

At this juncture, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent found him. Originally, based on Xing Tian’s personality, he wouldn’t heed the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent. However, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent promised that if Xing Tian agreed to one thing, he would let Xing Tian have a great battle with two individuals stronger than him. (To be continued.
