Chapter 889 -775: Xing Tian’s Battle

An old saying goes, “To control someone, find their soft spot.” What is Xing Tian’s soft spot? It’s battle. The stronger a person is, the more attractive they are to her, and Xing Tian is someone who is obsessed with fighting as if it were her life. Therefore, Xing Tian agreed with the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent: upon entering the Fallen Tomb, if he met Ziling and the Heavenly Patroller, and found them truly as powerful as the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent described, he would convey the Serpent’s message to them. The Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s words were not complicated, but very effective.

Originally, two groups were fighting with death-defying fury. Upon hearing the message delivered by Xing Tian, they truly stopped fighting, and instead focused all their attention on the Primordial Honor. Xing Tian, realizing that the Primordial Honor was even stronger than Ziling and the Heavenly Patroller, followed them to find the Primordial Honor. It was because of this that Ziling and the Heavenly Patroller arrived at the critical moment to save Sun Wukong’s life. Without their appearance, Sun Wukong would have been dead, making it too late for everything.

Thus, two points of the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s plan were completed. And this was only part of the Serpent’s plan. It shows that, after acquiring the power of destiny, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s overall foresight surpassed Zhibei, though the presence of Zhibei remained very important. “Actually, if not for the monkey, I wouldn’t agree to such a plan. In this world, the only ones worth my sacrifice are my brother and the monkey.” With this statement, Ye Zi left, having fully understood the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s subsequent plans before departing.

If Ye Zi knew Zhibei’s previous predictions, he would find out how surprisingly similar the futures desired by both the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent and Zhibei were. They both required sacrificing a large number of people to achieve victory.

Speaking to the Rogue Heart Sword Hero and others about these matters, Ye Zi omitted some details but mostly conveyed everything. “No wonder those eight could hold their own against the Primordial Honor. What do we do next?” Having spoken, the Rogue Heart Sword Hero glanced at Ye Zi, who was also looking at Zhibei. The two exchanged glances and subtly nodded at each other. Then, almost in unison, they said, “While buying time for the monkey, try to eliminate the Primordial Honor.” In truth, neither the fate discerning Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent nor the future-knowing Zhibei understood why all their envisioned futures relied so heavily on Sun Wukong.

Although Sun Wukong was powerful, he was no match for the Primordial Honor, which was just proven. Yet they chose to believe this seemingly irrational destiny or future, and the only way to reconcile that future — hinging entirely on Sun Wukong, who could not defeat the Primordial Honor — was by weakening the Primordial Honor, as previously planned by Zhibei. Although Zhibei’s plan was disrupted by Sun Wukong’s impulsive actions, fortunately, Ye Zi brought the Elixir Spirit Pill, granting them another chance.

Moreover, not only those from the Divine Nations Alliance were present; the Fang Universe’s most formidable forces were gathered here, including the Heavenly Patroller, Crimson Army, Divine Nations Alliance, Xi Zhao, and Ye Zi’s group. Thus, the outcome of this battle remains unsettled. In the simplest and most understandable terms, Zhibei swiftly redeployed the battle strategy in everyone’s minds. Not everyone accepted Zhibei’s combat plan, but most gave it affirmation mentally. Zhibei obviously anticipated this, so the critical parts of the plan were executed by their own people, such as the Law Enforcer’s mission, which was mainly to assist in attacks.

At this time, the Primordial Honor stood still, having remained motionless since the Bull Demon King and others retreated and took Sun Wukong away, giving Ye Zi time to narrate. After Zhibei completed the attack sequence, everyone took a deep breath, then the entire Crimson Army charged directly at the Primordial Honor.

Finally, the Primordial Honor moved. He didn’t flee. He stepped forward and headed toward the Crimson Army. The members of the Crimson Army, including Ziling, Xing Tian, Nuwa, Yi Xuan, Chi Dragon, and Chi Ghost, charged forth. Chi Dragon and Chi Ghost had been injured in the previous battle, so they were not the main force this time. Ziling and Xing Tian were leading the attack. The Primordial Honor raised his Myriad Blood Halberd and swept away Xing Tian’s slash of the Gan Qi. Then, tilting the other side of the Myriad Blood Halberd slightly, he blocked Ziling’s punch. At this moment, Nuwa and Yi Xuan’s attacks also reached him.

The Primordial Honor was about to swing the Myriad Blood Halberd again but found it firmly restrained by Xing Tian and Ziling. Unable to move the Halberd, the Primordial Honor immediately abandoned it, palming his hands. Just when everyone expected him to block Nuwa and Yi Xuan’s attacks, he suddenly struck both Ziling and Xing Tian in the chest with his palms. Meanwhile, Nuwa and Yi Xuan’s attacks hit the Primordial Honor. Yet the next moment, Ziling and Xing Tian were sent flying backward, and the Primordial Honor swung his Myriad Blood Halberd, forcing Nuwa and Yi Xuan back. No trace of injury appeared on the Primordial Honor, though there were two nearly invisible shields of Light Barrier in front of him.

This is another method the Primordial Honor employs with the protective Light Barrier — focused defense. Previously, he expanded it over his entire body for all-around defense, but now, his strength and stamina, as well as the Light Barrier, cannot support such, making focused defense sufficient. Ziling and Xing Tian were instantly hurt, yet surprisingly, Xing Tian suddenly stopped in mid-air, spun in the air, and once again lunged at the Primordial Honor. At the same time, a small Shield appeared on his left arm.

War God Xing Tian, growing stronger with challenge, even Ziling was repelled by Primordial Honor with a single strike, yet Xing Tian immediately charged forward again. While somewhat surprised, Primordial Honor’s anger erupted once more—a pawn he once controlled now daring to confront him head-on, just what did these people think of him? In his fury, the Myriad Blood Halberd in Primordial Honor’s hand slashed towards Xing Tian’s left leg, sparking a blood-red light. Unafraid, Xing Tian seemed unaffected by the previous attack.

Ducking down, he used the Xing Tian Shield in his left hand to block the Myriad Blood Halberd, then lunged forward fiercely, swinging an axe harshly towards Primordial Honor’s shoulder.

Primordial Honor’s speed was faster than Xing Tian’s, so before Xing Tian’s axe could fall, Primordial Honor had already dodged to the left to evade the strike. Holding the Myriad Blood Halberd in one hand, he flashed like lightning to Xing Tian’s front, using his shoulder to push upwards, pinning down Xing Tian’s right arm, and simultaneously pointing a finger at Xing Tian’s lower left abdomen. This finger, naturally imbued with the power of the Gods and Mortals Art, punctured a bloody hole in Xing Tian’s abdomen. Then, with a forward shoulder bash, Primordial Honor sent Xing Tian staggering backward.

It was clear from this encounter that the power gap between Primordial Honor and Xing Tian was evident. Yet, Xing Tian burst into wild laughter as he was knocked back, his laughter filled with excitement and madness. This was battle—by constantly fighting stronger opponents, he would grow ever stronger. Seemingly indifferent to the bleeding wound on his abdomen, Xing Tian charged at Primordial Honor once more, his Gan Qi tracing an arc as he flung it out. Primordial Honor sidestepped to dodge with ease. In that very moment of sidestepping, Xing Tian’s figure suddenly flickered, appearing abruptly to Primordial Honor’s left.

Somewhat astonished by his power, Xing Tian’s speed had indeed increased. In the previous exchange, Primordial Honor was certain that Xing Tian wasn’t holding back in the slightest—neither in speed nor attack strength, both were at peak performance. Yet his speed had at least doubled, but Primordial Honor remained unruffled, lacking time to swing the Myriad Blood Halberd, so he drove his right elbow towards his side. Xing Tian immediately blocked with the Xing Tian Shield, simultaneously punching at Primordial Honor’s waist.

Moreover, behind Primordial Honor, Gan Qi, having circled once, was aimed at Primordial Honor’s back, speeding towards him. Yet Primordial Honor completely ignored the Gan Qi behind him, bending his waist backward to dodge Xing Tian’s punch, while the Myriad Blood Halberd, taking a bizarre sharp angle, managed to carve a terrifying wound on Xing Tian’s left thigh. Gan Qi, however, was entirely blocked by the shield-shaped protective shield.

The second frontal clash still ended with Xing Tian injured. However, Xing Tian showed no sign of giving up or fear, ignoring the terrifying bleeding wound, raising his left leg quickly to strike at Primordial Honor’s abdomen. Primordial Honor wasn’t concerned about this attack, for another shield-shaped protective shield had already appeared in front of him, more interested in swiftly resolving Xing Tian. So with a wave of his hand, he maneuvered the Myriad Blood Halberd behind Xing Tian, thrusting it towards Xing Tian’s back as he himself held Xing Tian in place with both hands.

Yet the next moment, Primordial Honor suddenly heard a shattering, ear-piercing crack that seemed entirely unbelievable, quickly lowering his head to see that the shield-shaped protective shield was actually beginning to fracture. Primordial Honor couldn’t believe that Xing Tian could break his shield barehanded. Before, when he expanded the shield to cover the entire depression, it had been broken, but because of its large size, the defensive power naturally decreased. However, now, as the protective shield’s defensive power had greatly increased by shrinking, this single hit from Xing Tian still broke it.

Watching Xing Tian’s knee pierce the shield, about to strike his abdomen, Primordial Honor realized Xing Tian must be troublesome, opted against a hard block, retreating instead to evade. Primordial Honor avoided Xing Tian’s hit, but in his heart, couldn’t evade the Myriad Blood Halberd piercing towards his back. Somehow, Xing Tian seemed to lack any awareness to dodge or defend, resulting not only in the Myriad Blood Halberd piercing him but straight through. Xing Tian’s defensive power was astonishingly low.

After three attacks, Xing Tian hadn’t harmed Primordial Honor but suffered severe injuries instead. Yet, to everyone’s bewilderment, Xing Tian laughed heartily, summoning the Gan Qi back and charging at Primordial Honor once again. (To be continued.
